So I walked into this place a week ago when my wife ordered Chinese takeout from next door. I walked in and the food looked good so I figured I would come back another day to try it out. I went to go on Sunday but unfortunately they close at 8pm so it wasn't going to happen. The next day I left my office rather late, so I head down to Panatieris a little close to 7pm. My office is in lebanon so with Panatieris being on the other side of raritan township it was a little bit of a drive. I got there at 7:25pm. Unfortunately when I got there this time, they were sold out of the vodka pizza which is what I drove down there for. This is when things took a weird turn. The gal proceeds to tell me they sold out of the slices so I replied, okay, then I guess I will just order a whole pie of it. She replies, sorry you can't. We are already closed. I replied, its 7:28, what do you mean your closed. She replies, well our kitchen is closed. We are not making pizza anymore. Im sorry, but I have never heard of a pizzaria who refuses to make a pizza 35 minutes before closing, especially when you already close early to begin with. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately they don't care if they gain or lose customers. You know who never told me I can't order a pizza, Angelos pizza or Joe's pizza. Both make very good pizza during all hours...
Read moreThe food was great, and the waitress we had was nice, but the atmosphere when we were there today (for the very first time) was awful due to a manager loudly ranting, so I have to give it one star for that reason.
The full version of the story is as follows:
There was a woman talking very loudly and when I, as politely as I could, complained to the waitress about her, the loud woman went on a passive-aggressive, swear-filled rant about how she's a manager and even mentioned something about wanting to kill us. Later on she also made some racist remarks about Mexicans.
I don't know if the woman, presumably named Jackie since she seemed to be referring to herself in the third person, really is a manager there or not. But if she is, that's not the way you talk about customers in front of those very customers!
I thought I'd found a place I'd like to go to regularly, but I won't be eating there ever again. I don't recommend it unless you like loud managers making death threats about you (though not directly to your faces) a few...
Read moreMy family and I have lived in Flemington for almost 20 years. We previously went to Panatieri's all the time. They had great food, great family day discounts, and great owners. We haven't been there lately as we have left feeling disappointed after each meal for the last year or so. However, I was craving one of their dishes and called for a pick up order. Girl on the phone said 20 minutes. Long story short, I get in and the front of house staff is all chatting, there are only three full tables, and the back of house is rushing around trying to complete all the pick up orders (I assume). Wait an additional 25 minutes, hostess is sitting on the counter near the pizza and says my order is finally. Get up to pay and it is the completely wrong dish. All she says is "wrong dish?"
Went to Joe's Pizza in the next shopping plaza and got two slices instead. Only pizza place I'll eat...
