AS GREEK AS IT GETS - never read a truer statement. Authentic cuisine is so hard to find, but The Greek Spot has exactly what you have been locating for. The ambiance, menu and service make you feel like you just landed in Greece. The food was AMAZING, I even sent the menu to my Greek step dad and he said it looked exactly like a menu from his hometown in Greece. It was truly one of the best meals we had. The wait staff was so attentive and friendly. The saganaki (flaming cheese) was so cool and set this apart from a regular dinner. The portions were HUGE and they even provided olive oil and warm pita to start. I will be back so soon as I am craving those dolmades (grape leaves) already! A very eventful spring day in Monmouth County, NJ!😆🌸🫓🍨🦙🌳 📍Oak Hill Farms (Holmdel, NJ) They have a beautiful market store that features a little café with bakery treats and more. I recommend getting some fresh honey here! There are farm animals that are free to see here and a cute patio area. @oak.hill.farmsthebarn 📍Holmdel Park (Holmdel, NJ) Enjoy this free public park and see the blooming cherry blossom trees now! There are also animals at the historic Longstreet Farm on site. There’s more to see that I did not show and you can easily spend a few hours here. @holmdeltownshipofficial 📍Deep Cut Gardens (Middletown, NJ) Explore this free garden and enjoy lots of spring blooms right now including tulips, cherry blossoms, and daffodils! Absolutely phenomenal experience at Greek Spot Restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the cozy and welcoming ambiance transported us straight to a little corner of Greece. We started with the cold spreads, and they were nothing short of divine. The tzatziki was creamy perfection, the hummus had just the right balance of flavor, and the taramasalata was an absolute standout—so rich and satisfying! Paired with the warm, fresh pita, it was the perfect way to kick off the meal. The Greek salad was a refreshing burst of Mediterranean goodness. Every bite was bursting with freshness—the crisp cucumbers, juicy tomatoes, and tangy olives were perfectly complemented by a generous block of creamy feta cheese. It’s a simple dish, but when done this well, it becomes unforgettable. Now, the fire lamb? WOW. Perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor, it was the highlight of the meal. The dramatic presentation of the dish arriving on fire definitely made for an exciting moment, but the taste was what truly stole the show. A quick tip: BYOB! Bring your favorite bottle of wine or some crisp beer to elevate the experience even further. Greek Spot Restaurant is a hidden gem that delivers authentic flavors and an unforgettable dining experience. We’re already planning our next visit! Highly, highly recommend!

I have no idea how this restaurant is rated as high as it is. Let me start by saying I eat out 3 to 4 times a week. Im 50 years old (so I have have been doing this for awhile). The major flaw in this restaurant is the staff the public is in contact with. To start we called in advance of our 6pm reservation to change the reservation from 7 to 8 people ( nephew came last minute ). Hostess got the name wrong 3 times. No huge deal. Upon arrival the table was never set and we asked to be moved to the sunnier side of the restaurant. Thankfully they accommodated us it was a cold night. A male waiter jumped at us and said did they tell you to move with a bit of an attitude. We would not move unless told. The same waiter i asked for an extra pita basket because the 1 basket we got for 8 people was finished prior to receiving our sampler appetizer of 4 types of dips. He did not look me in the eye or acknowledge that he heard me so 30 seconds later I asked someone else. He jumps again with an attitude and said out order is already in process. If you do not say anything or acknowledge me how do i suppose to know? Hes attitude and people skills in this line of work need adjusting. Going on to the waitress with who made countless mistakes. To start we ordered 4 appetizers. 2 came early. 1 came 20 minutes later. The last never arrived. At the hour and 20 mark with about 50 minutes from our appetizers I asked the waitress to please check on the entrees and get them out. She said they will be right out. 20 minutes later I asked again. She tells us that she does not understand what the rush is we have only been there 20 minutes. We were there for an hour and 40 minutes. This is also the waitress who never once came to our table to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything. She never once cleaned the table of excess to make room for dinner until we piled up the plates and asked them to be removed ( about an hour and 20 minutes in ). Now it was getting late and my mother was too cold. We asked for everything to go. My nephew left at that point to meet up with friends because of the timing. He got his meal to go. It took an additional 20 minutes to get our food packed up. Got the check. There was an extra cheese app that we did not order on the bill that needed to be removed. Upon unpacking the meal we received and extra cheese app and an extra gyro platter just like the one my nephew ordered. This was not put in free. This was another mistake. There was no mention of this by the owner/manager ( not sure who ) at the end of the night who I was pleased stopped by and apologized. However the answer of "you were just that table tonight" is no excuse for ruining my moms 79th birthday dinner. I know everyone who has been out to dinner and mistakes were made, the manager comes by and offers something ( discount, free drinks, free dessert, or something). There was 0 done or said. I know other mistakes were made because we saw another table leave angry near by. If my timing is questioned, there were countless tables who got there well after us who finished there entrees. Us on the other hand left in hand with take out even though we were 1 of the first 3 tables of the night. The topper is after a 15 minute ride home the food was ice cold. If i can rate the food alone coming out correct i would give it a 4 out of 5. The staff gets a 0....

First of all, I would like to say that I made reservations through open table one week prior to arriving to my reservation. I confirmed my reservation the night before and called an hour before my reservation to alter it -since I had one more person that was going to join us for dinner. When I arrive for my 6 o’clock reservation, they were completely confused. No table was set aside and reserved. They had to scramble around outside and try to set up a table for us. When they finally did, it was in the shade. So, we asked if we could be moved onto the sunny side, since we were with my mother who had just turned 79. This was to be a birthday celebration. Needless to say, they were not very happy about us moving. Why, I am not sure? But, the staff had a terrible attitude about it. When our order was finally taken, a waitress took our appetizer order and completely disregarded the fact that she should take our entrée order at the same time. Our entrée order was not taken until about an hour and a half after we had our appetizers. There were so many mistakes, I can’t even go through them all -but in the end we had to take our food home with us, which ended up being cold by the time we finally sat down at 8:30 pm to eat what should have been a 6 o’clock dinner. The food was OK. The fries got mushy sitting in the same tray with the meat it was served with. The salad was warm due to the hot food it sat next to in the tin. Typical take out issues. Honestly -I probably could’ve gotten a better meal with quicker service from a food truck. A complete disaster!

Cute set up outside- but definitely understaffed. Complete chaos during Covid! I witnessed multiple angry tables, orders messed up, food being brought to the...

Came here about a week ago on a Saturday having a 7:30 pm reservation and it was quite the madhouse. Upon arriving there must have been about 20-30 people in the entrance way trying to get seated. The host wasn’t at the podium and each group was left to hunt down the host and it took us like 15-20 to finally get seated.

The meal itself was okay. We shared some apps like the hummus and fried zucchini but was not blown away but it wasn’t bad either. The hummus was like a roasted red pepper hummus which was a bit runny and didn’t taste like chickpeas which I’m accustomed to from other Greek restaurants. Even the greek fries tasted like regular fries with just feta on top. They weren’t crunchy and I feel like they weren’t that authentically “greek”.

For entrees we had their meat platter for 2 which didn’t come with any vegetables or bread, it was just served on a wooden board with like 2 sauces (and no spoons for the sauces). This must have been their first time serving this dish, i’m not sure how people can eat solely meat with no ways of building a pita or at least mixing it with some veggies. Furthermore it said all platters come with veggies yet ours didn’t.

Now with the above complaint you’d say just ask your server, but the service was really bad - maybe it was due to the rush but that’s no excuse to bring everything out properly the first time. We eventually got 3 small pitas for an enormous meat board and never got any veggies due to the waitress never checking up on the table.

I just don’t know why the hype and high reviews for this place. I’ve been to better greek restaurants in the area and it seems like this place has a lot to...
