The place is extremely cute. I loved the atmosphere , the cozy tables and the wooden details. The vibes in this place are awesome and perfect for a romantic dinner. I came here with my husband to celebrate my late birthday ! I did not ask for any extras but i just wanted to enjoy the food and the atmosphere. Our waiter, Alexander is an awesome guy , extremely friendly and very helpful , he took our orders and he answered to any questions we had. first of all I must say that I loved the experience of the fondue 🫕 made on the table. The server brings the ingredients to your table , where a hot plate is heating up the pot , and then they put all the ingredients in the pot one at a time and then they mix all of them together so you can see the ingredients melting together. I loved this idea , I really think it matches perfectly the name of the restaurant too. we ordered two cheese fondues, because actually one was not enough for us ! We had the Wisconsin Cheddar and the Artichoke Spinach. The fondues come with dippers (fruit and veggie , bread and 4 slices of salami). The taste of the cheese fondues was amazing . We also had the milk chocolate fondue as dessert which comes with dippers (marshmallows, strawberry and banana and pieces of brownies and other cakes) and then we had baileys coffee which had whipped cream on the top. The taste of everything was just awesome. Now, I want to talk about what I didnt like : the price is too high - 30 $ each fondue pot which is supposed to be for two people but actually the price is not justified ( the ingredients used are not expensive and not in such a big amount ). The dippers are not so many but the server let us know we could order a refill as much as we could. I also ordered a salad which was delicious but again a small portion for a high price in my opinion. Overall, quantity doesn’t correspond to the price but the quality is definitely there. Another thing , I asked for some modifications in the dippers - whether I could have potatoes in addition to my fondue - but modifications were not possible 🙅. I won’t come back just because the price is not justified and i actually don’t find any efforts to satisfy the customers. The cocktail we ordered the basil refresher was also very tasty .

My boyfriend and I came here for my birthday because we had a $100 gift card and it was beyond disappointing. Our waitress, whose name has escaped me, was absolutely lovely. A very sweet girl who gave premium customer service. It was the rest of the night that went horribly. For starters, we ordered the food to be cooked on a cast iron skillet. Cast iron isn't ideal for induction stove tops so the only place to really cook the food was in the middle and it took forever. We asked if we could switch to the oil instead of us staring at 3 pieces of meat waiting for them to cook. Our waitress brought it out and set us up. After waiting a solid 10 minutes for it to warm up, we started cooking. The frying food caused hot oil to splatter on our hands and up our arms. It was a disaster and could have been very dangerous had one of us gotten oil in our eyes; it was ALL over the table. While this warfare of oil was happening, we were also waiting on a drink I had ordered; a "Love Martini" that took 15 minutes for the bartender and her trainee to make (mind you, it was 5:30 pm and the restaurant was empty. Oh, and a Love Martini is 3 ingredients)... We expressed our dissatisfaction to our waitress who assured us the manager would give us a discount. My boyfriend asked to speak to her himself. The manager came over and we immediately saw she had an attitude. He started to explain what was going on and all she seemed to offer were excuses for her employees and for the menu. She then expressed her own knowledge that the oil cook method was dangerous and she mentioned how she even tries to push customers away from it; I'm not sure how this company stays in business; probably from us paying to cook the food ourselves. The manager asked that we try one of the broths to try and redeem what was left of this birthday dinner so we did. The vegetable broth was okay but no where near worth the price and time of having to wait to cook our own food. We were done for the night. At the end of this endeavor the manager gave us a $100 gift certificate to make up for this visit. I don't dislike anyone enough to send them there so it'll probably go unused.

We stopped in this morning for the pris fixe Easter brunch - four courses for around $35/person before tax and tip. It was fantastic! The cheese course was different from fondue I'd had before in that it was kind of an egg dish combined with the melted cheese of a traditional fondue, somewhat unique but absolutely delicious. The spinach salad was paired with a tangy vinaigrette and a great transition between the very heavy cheese and our entree course, served "bourguignonne" style - effectively, they brought out a fondue pot of hot oil and a batter with tempura flakes to dip our meats into before preparing. The batter was seasoned well and it was a fun experience preparing everything! The dessert course we opted for the white chocolate "French toast" and it, combined with all the dippers (pictured), made for the perfect end to the meal. We'd made reservations for 1130am, were seated promptly, and ended up leaving around 2pm. Definitely take a good amount of time into consideration if you're planning on visiting! This is definitely a meal that takes time.

Today, my husband and I went to the Melting Pot to celebrate my birthday. We were seated immediately and were told that our server would be with us shortly. We waited about 10 minutes, and no one had come by yet. We were able to flag down the manager and let him know, he said that our server had to deal with a burn at the next table over and that's why she was delayed. We had no problem with that, but instead of taking our drink order he just walked away.

Then we waited another 10 minutes and our server finally made an appearance and asked for our drink orders. Right after we put the drink orders in, the manager comes by and asks us if we want to put our drink orders in. We say that we just did and then he walks away again. We felt that he should have taken our food orders since it had been nearly half an hour and no one had taken our food orders yet.

Finally, our server is freed up and comes to take our food order. What kind of irked us, was that she didn't apologize for making us wait for over 30 minutes. We put our orders and let her know we were celebrating my birthday. We get our food as quickly as one generally gets served at The Melting Pot. The rest of the night was pretty much fine, she never stopped by to ask us if we needed more drinks. The only time she asked us if we needed more dippers, would be when we were obviously done eating.

At some point, the manager came back and gave us a coupon for free dessert for 2(for our next visit), to compensate for our poor service at the beginning of the meal. We took it, however we are not sure if we want to come back since the restaurant is about an hour away from our home.

When dessert came around, we expected something special for my birthday (apparently they give you a small plate of chocolate or something for any type of celebration). We didn't receive anything of the sort, just our ordered chocolate fondue.

On our way out, the hostess asked us how are meal was. We were frank with her and told her about the delays at the beginning of the meal and our lack of birthday treat. She agreed that it was not acceptable and that she would relay our comments back to the manager.

We believe that the manager did not do a good job fixing the issues that arose; we don't totally blame the server for the lack of attention for the first 30 minutes of our dinner, the manager should have dealt with it better and we shouldn't have had to reach out. However, we do blame the server for forgetting about my birthday treat and her subpar service. It all just left a sour taste in our mouths since we drove an hour to get to the restaurant. Let me also mention, that the restaurant is not a cheap one, so we expected more from our experience.

We probably will not be coming back, it just doesn't seem...

Modified 1/5/2019: please see original review below

A Manager from melting pot replied to my original review and provided his phone number. I called and spoke with Matt who was kind, apologetic, and extremely service oriented. He asked if I'd be willing to return. I was since as I stated before, the food was excellent.

When I arrived I asked for Matt, and was seated quickly with no reservation.

Our experience this time was absolutely amazing. Our server was fast, attentive, and interactive. As a matter of fact we will be going back and asking for her again, since she was amazing.

To say the least our experience this time was exponentially better than our last visit. I am the first to admit you can't judge any place by just one visit and am so happy I gave them another shot because they delivered in a big way.

I'm pleased to change my review from two stars to five because I really do like this restaurant.

I would happily recommend it to friends based on my most recent experience. Original Review:

I never write reviews, but I was so upset by my experience I felt the need to share.

This review would be 5 stars if we had a better waitress. The food was great, the service was horrific for the place having only four other tables. The servers around us were informative, attentive, and fast. Ours was absent, aloof, and disinterested. We went to this melting pot frequently before it closed and am sad to say I was seriously turned off to the restaurant due to the service this time.

Some examples of the service issues:

-Our server was standing behind the bar versus coming over even though no one was seated there -We thought she was finally going to bring our main course but she had to come back to ask our cooking style after being gone for 10 minutes -We had two salads, she messed up one of those -Everything was just slow, but she was super quick to come by to pick up our signed check to see her tip -She went out the front door twice during our meal. -We ordered a bottle of wine and even that was slow to come despite her being behind the bar

You go to melting pot for an experience, and on this visit the experience was completely lost. The food was great but the service left us with a bad taste...
