Clean, and I don't dislike the concept with a distinctly more."Deli-like" experience with meat counter, and cutting machine.
BUT, a complete ripoff from a value standpoint. A "mini" turkey with provolone, small sugar cookie, bag of chips, and bottle of water was … $10! My order was for a quick take-out.
What's even worse is that they BEG FOR GRATUITY AT CHECKOUT, and it's part of the BUSINESS MODEL. When paying by credit card, the terminal "suggests" gratuities in 10%, 15%, 29% and HIGHER AMOUNTS. The staff mention it, too.
This must be theWORST FRANCHISE CONCEPT, if they have to scam customers into feeling compelled to tip ON TOP IF A $10 tab for already small value. And we all know that TIPS paid at the register are infrequently if at all actually paid to staff.
I'm not saying avoid the place, but instead to know what you're in for when you step inside. For me, it's a rip-off, and after one experience, I'd rather wait until getting home to get...
Read moreI love Jersey Mike's. Been a regular at this Red Bank location for years. 4 out of 5 stars not because workers don't know my regular orders, but because I've been pressured or hassled out this evening at 8:30 when the business on this occasion was open until 9. A worker at this establishment exclaimed they needed 15 minutes for cleaning, pressuring me to get out before 9, when I evidently had a half hour to eat my sandwich, and eating a sub (as delicious as they are) doesn't take half an hour. Granted, this is one rude and inconsiderate employee who should not reflect entirely upon the Jersey Mike's experience, but it is enough for me to write a review after being a very loyal customer for many years. While writing this review, eating my sub took less than 15 minutes. I am a repeat customer, so Jersey Mike's will certainly keep my business, but this disgruntled employee does make for a sour note at the beginning of...
Read moreI was once a true Jersey Mikes fanatic, but after today I am no longer. I have now been made aware of their vicious discriminatory practices, especially at this particular location. This company claims they promote "diversity" by hiring minorities to then only treat them with the utmost disrespect and cruelty. They remove these individuals from the schedule but retain them as employees to meet their quotas. To witness their mistreatment fills me with great sadness. I couldn't even enjoy the sub I purchased today as the bread became soaked from the many tears I shed for these employees. I will mention that it didn't help that the entire store smelled like a sewage plant. Jersey Mikes? More like...
