The Dining Room at the Molly Pitcher Inn — Restaurant in Red Bank

If I could give this dinner, service, and experience a 0, I would. We made a reservation for 7pm for my dad’s 74th birthday. There were 7 of us, including two kids. It was strange when we did not even get a wine list until 7:25pm, but we actually did not even get to order until 8pm. We were so hungry. We asked Three people for bread (2 servers and hostess) and did not get any actual food on table until over an hour of sitting. Then, the server came back two more times to confirm our order. When we eventually got through appetizers, two entrees were served immediately (no apps removed from table) and the kids’ meals were not even there. We waited and waited. My husband finished his dinner before our app plates were removed and eventually our dinner meals were served. My son’s meal was wrong, they never filled our water, or asked if we wanted more drinks. The WORST part was that the Manager didn’t care. He came over and barely asked how we were doing. Said he would take off two entrees from check and we could have a dessert on the house. !!! We were completely ignored for hours, the kids did not get there food for 90 minutes, we had to complain to even get them to take our order, and two meals off only! AND, then it took the server 15 min to even bring a dessert menu. So we eventually said no thanks, as we just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. The Manager never apologized. And, it was so strange because there was another birthday party dinner next to us w a different waiter and they were completely fine. I get that restaurants are short staffed, but it was just our table. And no one even cared that it was my dad’s birthday (we told two ppl). We were all appalled and so confused as to what happened. Seriously, a complete trainwreck. My mom felt awful as she planned this special dinner for my dad, and it had to be the most awful dining experience we had ever had. I was a waitress for years and I cannot believe this terrible level of service, care, and kindness....

My dad specifically called for special setting ahead of time and we were seated at the worst spot at dining room The waitress was incompetent. Took forever to take our orders Tried to get her attention multiple times but was ignored. My husband ordered the NY STRIP. He said it was horrible. Had no taste. As if it was boiled. No flavor. The breakfast was surprisingly bad.

Breakfast potatoes were served in a decorative cast iron skillet, but were soggy and undercooked. Tasted like something you’d get at a Dennys, only worse. The fruit was served in an unnecessarily ornate dish and was reminiscent of the fruit cups you’d have as a kid in your lunch box. The Eggs Benedict came on a soggy English muffin, with undercooked Canadian bacon and a broken hollandaise. The best part of the meal was the half a piece of toast I dipped in the egg yolk on my plate.
