Father's Day, 2025, unable to comment on the food because we were told the dining room was closed after we ordered our food so we cancelled our order. Three of us drove from the Twin Cities to Redwing to enjoy a Godfather's Combo pizza. This has been a treat for me since the 1980's when Godfather's was present in many towns. Slowly they have disappeared from Minnesota and we have to plan a drive for an indulgence. We checked their website, it showed them open until 8 pm. Arriving early for dinner, 3:30 pm, we walked around the Pottery place checking out some of the shops. At about 4:15 pm, entered through the inside entrance, noting the same 8 pm closing time on the door. Noticing no customers and many tables uncleaned with pizza pans, plates and leftovers we asked a young lady that was bussing tables if they were open. She indicated yes so we went to the counter to order. A young man came out from the back, took our order including fountain drinks and asked if we were dining in. We said yes paid for our order. Only to hear someone in the back yell the dining room is closed. Our cashier then told us we would have to take our order to go. We asked him to cancel the order as the pizza would be cold before we got home. Also explained that we drove some distance for this dining experience. The cashier had some difficulty refunding our cash so the "manager?" came out telling us they have been closing at 4 pm for sometime. The manager was quite blunt and didn't so much as offer an apology. Well walking out, we noticed that place was generally run down and looked to be on its last legs. So disappointed, sad to see another Godfather's that appears to be losing its appeal. Anyway if you are planning to visit, probably check before driving any distance to make sure...
Read moreI am well aware that times are tough these days and it's hard to find good staff, and maybe times are so tough that you can't afford paper or ink or a new light bulb to illuminate the ONLY sign you have on the premises stating that your dinning room was closed. Maybe times are so tough that you have to shut the lights off on your patrons while they wait for their pizza leaving them standing there confused in almost complete darkness. When asked if we were expected to eat in total darkness it was only then we were informed that the dinning room was closed. We were informed by a not so helpful woman that we “walked by a sign” stating this as we entered. Yes the in fact was a sign sitting outside in the 6:45 darkness. A sign that you absolutely could not read. Once again I will reiterate that nothing was verbally stated to us, nothing was posted inside the building, and their only notice of this.... being in the dark parking lot. So I'd say that they could probably work on their communication skills, which is odd because their voices seemed to work just fine to give us attitude when we brought it up. It wouldn’t have been difficult to assure the customer knew the dining area was closed at any point during the ordering process. The employees lack any semblance of professionalism or pride in their work. Do not waste your time or money...
Read moreTaco pizza is bad good! If I made it at home; I would never eat that again.
If I had made it at home, (I have lower standards for my), I would have considered it a failure.
Looking at other patrons pizza, I was not envious of what should have been better choices.
The cinnamon pizza desert thing was disappointing too. It was mediocre meal at best, lacking in nutrition, and not terribly delicious.
The top attraction is the old factory architecture and memorabilia. The vending machines had a nice selection of tempting toys. That turned out to be a bit disappointing too. They seem to be 25¢. However, two quarters are actually required. If you only put one quarter in, it won't turn, and it won't come back out.
After finding a second quarter for the toy vending machine, the rubbery stretchy toy had a toxic petroleum smell that made it too scary...
