JT'S Chicken & Fish — Restaurant in Red Wing

Hunnie let me tell ya...... THIS IS THE PLACE!!!!! I moved to Red Wing over the summer, and I'm a lil upset no one has suggested this place before now. 😩 I'm forever thankful for this recommendation. The guest service was top tier, reminds me of the mom and pop shops back home (east Texas) The owner was friendly, (forgive me I didn't catch her name) very helpful and patient. Every part of this place that was visible to the eye was clean and thoughtfully put together for the cozy customer area. The atmosphere was very welcoming, chill and laid back.

Ok, on to the food, lol. I ordered the fish dinner, fried mushrooms and onion rings. When I tell you this food just melted in my mouth 😋 It was well seasoned and cooked to perfection 👌🏾 And the portions are perfect! So many other places charge the same, but give far less food. The fish..... the FISH..... THE FISH!!! Hunnie, everything was amazing, but that fish stole the show. I finished 2 of the 3 pieces and half the fried before I remembered I had dipping sauces 😂 It was delicious....

Let me start by saying that I've been waiting to try the food here. I stopped in this afternoon and the gentlemen working were wonderfully kind and professional. I ordered the catfish dinner and while I waited we spoke of Minneapolis for a bit. It's nice to meet such friendly faces and talk to people that know Minneapolis back when. Now, let's talk about the food. Wow! The catfish filets are huge and cooked to perfection. I got a nice order of fries, coleslaw and bread at a very reasonable price. So, welcome to Red Wing JT'S! I've been here twice. Unfortunately, they are closed before I get back after work, or I would be here a lot. The owner knows how to season food. She has the best coleslaw as well. I really enjoyed the fish, my son got a burger (huge), he said it was really good. The fries are seasoned and hot when served. *note: this is takeout as the building is not big enough for dining. More people need to try this place though, we want to keep her food close...
