I am writing on my experience today 9/3 at about 8:35am. So I would give this 5 stars based on the donuts and other goods. However, with the food industry comes service. I was very disheartened here this morning, as I was inclined to instantly get on here and write this review in hopes that it is seen by management. I am hoping this isn’t the work culture of this place or that this mean and bully type behavior is not acceptable here…
Today, an older lady employee, idk her name, who was working must’ve hit the wrong button on the cash register. She asked another worker for help and while the worker was helping out on the cash register she told the older woman “do not hoover and watch over my shoulder, back up.” The older worker simply said “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to, I was just trying how to learn how to fix it.” And was very sweet about it. However, the younger girl who I then heard called Becky, was very rude, telling her “no, if there’s an accident you don’t try to fix it, call someone else, we won’t even teach you guys how to fix it, you won’t know how.”
This rubbed me terribly wrong. Becky then walked away rolling her eyes and then I could see her go to another employee and talk about the older employee, infront of all of us customers. Not cool in my book. Why put someone down, especially loudly AND in front of customers? BS. I don’t like this at all.
Again, I’m hoping this is an isolated incident but this type of rudeness is something I just can’t support...
Read moreA little late posting because of the holidays. Stopped in 12/21, and purchased four of the the worse tasting frosted cookies I have ever had in my life. The cookie itself was so hard, I could imagine some one older breaking a tooth. The frosting, had absolutely no flavor besides maybe a weird aftertaste of Red & Green food coloring. My kids took one bite and said no way! (Christmas Tree cookies cost $19 and change) Then I went over and ordered a wrap to go for lunch. Again, worse wrap, I have had too. It was super dry/bland, and the lettuce was more yellow and white than green. My lunch was the chips and pickle that day. (another $10 and change) So four cookies, plus a wrap in the garbage. Very disappointed!! I have always recommended your bakery. I'm sorry to say, I don't think that will happen anymore. Waste of time, and more importantly, money. Something, no one wants to waste these days... This was not easy for me to post since I am a big supporter of our small businesses. But this certainly was an unexpected, and completely unacceptable situation. I hope you can do better...
Read moreI wish I could give less than one star. I have heard a lot of good things about Hanisch Bakery. I walked in and patiently waited for help in my search of a cream cake to satisfy a request for my mother. One of the workers behind the counter was helping answer questions for two other patrons and the other worker behind the counter left without saying a word to me. When the remaining worker was done answering questions I had to ask for help before she went to the back. Her response was "I've never heard of such a thing! Any cake we have is in this display case" to which she waved her hand across and quickly went to the back. To the back of her head I asked "Do you have anything gluten free?" And of course I got no response. A worker came from the back and did not acknowledge that I was standing there but went to a counter and started reading something. And to the back of her head I repeated my request for a gluten-free product. She continue to ignore me... Or was simply deaf. I stated my request quite loudly so she was either ignoring me or deaf. I will never go to...
