My sister invited me along to hear the Sheldon Theater Brass Band for a holiday concert. It was so enjoyable! I've been there before, and the theater is kept in such pristine condition. It is so lovely. Even the lower level common area and restrooms are perfect. I always enjoy a historically restored venue. The brass band played an excellent variety of tunes. They had seasoned players that played very well. We wished we could hear the percussion a little better, as they seemed muffled. The sleigh bells and xylophone were barely negligible on the Holiday numbers. The emcee was very informative and added so much to the night. The stage is a bit small which can play an important role into what can be performed here, but it can be overcome by most. We had several dance recitals here while my daughter was dancing with Fusion Dance of Red Wing, and though the stage was not the same size as the area that everyone practiced in day in day out, the dancers and staff were always able to make due; the audience always loved the performances!
The theater reminds me of NEWSIES (Medda Larkson and her swing...
