I know I should have checked the reviews before going in. I know there are good reviews as well however 99% of those are by non-Indian customers. I just moved to the area and was running a few errands and happened to stumble upon this restaurant. I was so excited to eat Indian food after being in Redding for two weeks and no kitchen. I was greeted with no smile, a very tired lady, and then a man who was on his phone with an earpiece - who just handed me the menu from a feet away. Please note, I am a very pleasant, soft spoken with a warm smile always on my face. I ordered chai and was given dark black color chai, you could tell its been sitting for a long time. I gently and politely asked if the tea was made a few hours ago. She without hesitation, rolled her yes and said they made it this morning and that it how all the restaurants do (I was there around 7pm). I was still going to pay for it but was given such an attitude the whole time i was there. I called out for the man more than 10 times to order something to drink. Even the uber guy picking up food noticed and told him I was calling. After ridiculously waiting for 15 mins, he walked to me with the check and lady from the other side with my to-go order which I ordered for my employees. I told them that I called out more than 10 times, was just ignored and that I was shocked to see them treating their own people with no respect. If they are the owners, I pray they be reminded of basics of humanity and customer service, especially food industry. And if they are employees, God bless the owners. I would NEVER go to this place. (This is my first negative review ever. I am kind of a breed to hit “like”on all tiktok videos) In the end, I would say if they didn’t mean ill. “May God deal with you in the same manner you dealt with me” (I was really hurt...
Read moreWow! This has been my favorite Indian food (by far) over the last 5 years. Luckily as a truck driver I get to experience a ton of different towns and states and as I said nothing has ever been better than Priya period.
The last two orders have literally been Terrible. Going from a 5 star rating to at best a 3 star. Last week I went in as a dine-in (as I often do) and the food I always order was cold. I left a full plate and 3/4 of a a 22oz beer. It’s was a terrible experience.
Thinking “ ok maybe they were just off 1 time. I mentioned to the owner as I paid, that’s the food was cold and it never has been before. The owners (husband I assume), just smiled as if I thanked him. The opposite reaction of what I expected from a complaint with someone I’ve seen 30-40 times In person. Maybe there was a language barrier or something but he seems to have understood me in the past.
Tonight I figured I would try it again. Because I love their food. Yuck. Tonight I got the same dish I have ordered to my house too many times to count. It was gross. Will never go back again. Kiss my loyalty and money goodbye.
Was the best by far and I enjoyed many meals but no longer can.
Goodbye Priya. It’s been great.
And after calling the owner “she” basically said nobody else complains. I guess for some reason now after I would guess 100 or so orders, I’m just a new non-fan complainer. Yes I decided to just complain on the last two visits. Not the 100 before where I state “this is the best Indian food I have ever...
Read moreI had high hopes for this Indian restaurant, but unfortunately, the entire experience was a letdown from start to finish.
First off, the table wasn’t even properly set when we arrived — no cutlery, no napkins, and we had to ask twice just to get water. The service was painfully slow and indifferent; it felt like the staff was doing us a favor by simply taking our order.
When the food finally arrived, the presentation was sloppy and unappealing. It looked hastily thrown together without any care. Sadly, the taste matched the appearance — bland, overly greasy, and lacking any of the rich flavors Indian cuisine is known for. The naan was thin and brittle — it crumbled like a papadam instead of being soft and fluffy, also the eggplant curry was undercooked, and bland.
To make matters worse, when we politely raised our concerns, the staff responded with defensiveness and a complete lack of willingness to acknowledge anything might be wrong. No apologies, no attempt to make things right — just a dismissive attitude.
I rarely write reviews, but this was such a disappointing outing that I felt compelled to share. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic or even decent...
