I've lived in Redington Shores for 10 years and have always had the smoked fish spread via neighbor's get togethers as well as Nachman's smoked chicken at the yearly town picnic and hands down he is the smoker king. Interestingly enough I have never gone into the store until today, 12/11/23, as a visiting friend, after hearing so much about the spread, wanted to take some to her elderly father. We walked in and there was what appeared to be two customers sitting at the counter and two women behind the counter, one standing back against a sink looking at her cell phone. What I noticed immediately was we were not greeted at all. We saw the refrigerator area and found the spreads. Since no prices were listed we turned around and after standing there for a minute or two looking at the one woman on her cell phone, my friend spoke up asking how much the spreads were. We then grabbed what we wanted and walked up to the counter. At this point the same woman was engaging the one guy that was sitting at counter talking about her training for a marathon or something. She didn't say one word to us. No, "did you find what you needed?", "anything else for you?", "nice day isn't it?". She took my friend's money while continuing her conversation with that guy. She gave her the change without as much as eye contact or even a simple "thank you". Look I get it, it's a family run business that's been here a long time and being the beach things are generally more laid back but to be completely ignored without even a thank you for your business, sorry to say that showed no respect for customers. A rather...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here a handful of times. The fish spread is what they are known for and itās ok. (3*s I usually add more smoked fish if available because this spread is full of fillers). Iāve also taken away their smoked salmon. One time it was phenomenal!. Another not at all as it was mushy as if frozen too long? But yet another time they had smoked mullet-one of my favorite things. But when I got home to dig in, the mullet was not only WwAAAyyy over cooked, hard as a rock, it was positively rotten. It smelled horrible. My friend who eats fish usually no matter what, couldnāt even lick the fork after it was touched by this rotten mullet. I called and asked if I could bring it back, they seemed insulted and bringing it back was highly discouraged. Oh well, back to Wards Seafood. Itās a drive but Wards Seafood is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI can't say enough great things about this place! We came to visit from Toronto Canada and love a good stone crab feast when we are in Florida! We heard of this place through a friend that told us about great pricing for stone crab. We fell in love with this place! The owner/staff took so good care of us making sure the stone crabs were chilled for our long ride and packed us up with everything we needed. We ended up eating them in front of the shop. The owner came out with water for us in case we needed it and ensure that we can use their private washroom to wash up if needed. If you are in the clear water/st. Peterburg/ Tampa area this should be the only place you go to for your fresh seafood and especially stone crab! Love this place...
