I've been wanting to come here for a while and I finally did today. I think the closest thing to compare this to would be Dave's Hot Chicken and so that's actually what I'm going to do.
Service and Price: I have nothing bad to say about the service because it was pretty straightforward, I went in and ordered my food and they gave it to me quickly and that was that no problem. I ordered the two tender meal with a drink and it came out to be a little bit more than $16. In comparison, Dave's Hot Chicken for the two tender is a little over $14. I'm assuming because this is a small chain or maybe even just a single storefront operation they have higher overall costs, but I still don't think it excuses the high price point. Almost $20 for two chicken tenders is just a bit much even in our overly inflated economy.
Environment: Definitely nothing to write home about, just a few tables on the inside and really plain Decor nothing special about this place. I just chose to eat outside in the public area instead.
Food: I ordered the mild spice chicken tenders and the flavor profile on the spice was actually quite nice. It had quite a bit of spice even for mild and also this hint of sweetness that I really enjoyed, but the chicken itself was not great. The breading was hard and the chicken was dry. I added the spicy cue sauce and that helped a little bit with the dryness, but overall it was definitely lacking. Dave's Hot Chicken is always soft and tender chicken with a slightly crispy breading. It could have just been the cook over frying things today, but because this is the experience I have I'm going to say it how it is. Additionally it shows waffle fries on their menu, but I got shoe string fries that were again overcooked and even seemed a little old. No seasoning on the fries whatsoever and just a really pathetic sample. I took a picture of them and posted those here.
Obviously the main reason to eat anywhere is to eat and the star of the show was definitely a d rated actor. Pretty disappointed and won't be coming...
Read moreI went for lunch last weekend and the minute I walked in the lady at the register Sarah gave me an uncomfortable look. I ignored it as I understand people have personal lives and I never know what they maybe dealing with. Anyways I was with my kids and my brother. I had just taken my kids to get McDonald’s as they don’t like friend chicken and I offered to get my brother lunch. We like trying new places specially fried chicken sandwiches so we looked up a fried chicken place near us and this place came up. The pictures looked really good so we chose to try it and my kids had ate their food by the time we got there. When we were done ordering the two meals Sarah asked if that was it. I felt uncomfortable by that but I said yes. She then proceeds to say it’s to go right. I said no and stayed. My daughter decided to order fried pickles so we go and add to the order. Sarah’s face spoke volumes and she asked me that’s it with a concerned face. My daughter noticed it. So I ask my daughter if that’s all she wanted and she said yes. When Sarah took out food she asked “ Since the kids are sharing do you need boxes “. It made me very uncomfortable and my daughter who is 10 said she was uncomfortable by the comments. I understand and appreciate anyone who puts children first but there are ways to do it. My daughter said she felt like I was being judged as a parent which honestly seemed that way. Kids can be picky eaters and many parents go eat at different places. I can understand being genuinely concerned for kids if the kids are showing signs of being hungry or maybe if they were asking me for food and I was ignoring them but this was uncomfortable and unnecessary. I will still recommend their food but myself I would probably go to...
Read moreFor a chicken 🐔 restaurant, this one is very expensive. For a family of four it was +$80. Not the place you would come to on a budget and certainly not the food you would expect to drop $80 on.
They have a small selection of chicken options but have several side options, which sets it apart from Canes. Everything is made to order. Our food took about 10 minutes. One plus is they offer alcohol. They have their own Cluckin' beer as well as domestic can and bottle options. Priced from $4-9 it's not too bad.
Now for the food. This is what we ordered: Chicken tenders mild -large pieces, one order can easily feed two people. Good breading, minimal spices comes with a thick slice of bread and half dozen pickle slices.
Chicken classic sandwich Very good sandwich. Chicken is crispy and juicy. Their buns are slightly toasted and buttered.
Waffle fries- Not too bad, Chick Fil A fries are better
Fried pickles -Amazing. That's all I have to say about that
Street corn fritters -Don't waste your $$. Not good (in my opinion). It looks like that awesome Hush Puppies you used to get at Long John Silver but they don't taste good.
Overall the food and ordering experience was good. However because of the high $$ for food, I will not be...
