The Lynnwood location was a frequent destination for us. However, after relocating, we still craved bingsu but were hesitant to travel far. Consequently, we are delighted with the opening of this Redmond location. I have rated the establishment with three stars. The seating is limited and awkwardly arranged, but once settled, it offers a cozy ambiance. Upon arrival, we observed an accumulation of unwashed dishes at the bussing station. It would be beneficial to label the bins at the bussing station to guide patrons in properly sorting their waste. This would prevent the stacking of dirty dishes near clean utensils and the small garbage can.
The service was prompt and courteous. However, I believe the service could be improved by increasing the thoroughness and diligence of the staff. It is essential that all employees are knowledgeable about the ingredients in the dishes they serve, particularly with regard to desserts, as many people have allergies to certain ingredients. For example, your menu should be clearly labeled with allergy warnings, and employees should be familiar with the composition of the granola you serve, as not all granola contains nuts. This is especially important for individuals with nut allergies, as it could pose a serious health risk.
During the ordering process, I made specific inquiries regarding the presence of nuts in several menu items, including the banana crunch, strawberry, and banana apple waffle with granola. I was assured that none of these items contained nuts. However, upon receiving our order, we discovered that the waffle was indeed topped with nuts and granola.
I brought this discrepancy to the attention of a busser, who initially disregarded my attempts to get her attention. After I raised my voice to get her attention, she promptly apologized for the inconvenience and misunderstanding. The staff offered to remake our order, which we accepted as we still desired the dessert. While they did not provide any compensation for the error, the prompt correction of the order was satisfactory.
In comparison to the Lynnwood location, this establishment demonstrated commendable speed in fulfilling our order, delivering it within ten minutes. One of the notable aspects of Lumi is the consistent quality and freshness of their offerings. The fruit is always exceptionally fresh, and the addition of mint is a delightful touch, especially during warm weather. Despite the aforementioned incident, I continue to enjoy their desserts throughout the year due to their exceptional taste and quality.
They have a wide variety of delectable desserts and shareable options on their menu. You will not be disappointed with the food here, as they cater to everyone's preferences. Their craft beverages are also highly recommended.
However, parking is available in an underground garage around the back. The signage can be confusing, as there are lines that resemble parking spots in front of the store. Please note that this is a fire lane and not designated for parking. It is unclear why the fire lane is not painted red, but it is assumed that the city may use this as an opportunity to issue tickets to violators. The small sign on the corner indicating the fire lane is not very noticeable. It would be more helpful to have designated signs along the sidewalk where the lines are drawn to clearly indicate the fire lane.
One of the patrons who resides in the building above the business kindly informed me that it is indeed a fire lane and pointed out the small sign on the corner. Upon inspecting the sign, I found it to be quite diminutive and easily overlooked unless one is familiar with the area or Redmond City Hall antics.
We appreciate Lumi's decision to expand to the...
Read moreWe were looking for a new dessert place and came across this place on Instagram, so we decided to check it out. It was really good. We ordered the apple pie golden toast, creamy taro bingsu, and the choco brownie bingsu. The golden toast was buttery which paired wonderfully with the sweetness of the caramel and apples making it delicious. I could eat this every morning for breakfast. The brownies on the bingsu were soft, not hard like some places. I just wish the taro flavor on the taro bingsu was a little more front and center, though it was still good. For an Asian inspired place I was expecting the desserts to be under sugared, but the sugar level was nice. Almost a bit too sweet by the time we'd finished, although we did try 3 different desserts. What I didn't like is that the parking is hard to find. We did eventually end up in the parking garage, which was free, so it worked out. Also, when you check out there's the typical screen for tip, but I'm not sure what they're doing to earn a tip. You have to pick up your own food and bus your own table. I know tip is optional, however most people leave a tip when the screen asks for it. If you're going to ask for tips, then there needs to be offered additional service. There's none. Seating is limited, fortunately we didn't go at a busy time or I can imagine it would be hard to find a place to sit and eat. We were there at 4:00 on a Saturday. Lastly, it's really expensive. For 3 desserts with a tip we spent about $50. I think if I go back I will go for breakfast and...
Read moreZOMG, you guys! This was my first time at Lumi's and also trying the Bingsu. I wish they had location near me, I would definitely become a regular, easily.
They have parking that was pretty easy since we came late - they close at 11pm so we got there at 9:30 - their parking is also underground - we had no problems finding a spot.
They have both indoor and outdoor seating, we opted to sit inside.
Once we got there, there was only 1 other customer so I was able to order right away. They have a display case that shows what they have to offer so you'll know what to expect when you get your order.
They have more than Bingsu - they also have Golden Toast, Bubble Waffles, Coffee, Milk Teas etc. so if you're not a Bingsu fan, you can definitely find something else that tickles your pickle. Their Bingsu come in 3 sizes - Mini, Single and Regular.
I ended up ordering the Single Banana Crumble Bingsu ---- &&&& ZOMG, IT. WAS. SO. GOOD. I am a fan, 10 out of 10 would recommend! I am a sweet tooth so I pretty much finished it all. The Regular size looks like it be a good size to share.
We left around 10:30, so we took the back way to re-enter the underground garage without having to walk all the way around - FYI!
All in all, my first time having Bingsu & definitely...
