Donators beware! I shop there on occasion and used to donate. About five or six years ago, my husband took a load of items I had bagged and put in the car to Goodwill. However, also in the car were my hiking boots which were almost new, good for winter, gortex-lined full leather quality to the nth degree and a very expensive price like almost $400. (I have problem narrow feet and these actually fit Me) , Asolo brand, brown size 10 female. Within an hour after my husband had taken this load I went to my car and saw the hiking boots were gone. We raced back to that store. Everyone there was so helpful, except they manager of the donation area and the store manager. The âboot galâ as she called herself says she examines all shoes and boots and they never went by her. The manager would not come out and talk to me and the donation manager tried not to talk to me but I persisted and he turned mean and rude. There was an employee truck out in the donation area which I suspect was where my boots were. I suspect this truck was there for this curt, rude donation manager to grab items with them never getting into the process of being put into the store for himself to use or to resell. I would not be surprised if they manager of the store was not in cahoots with him. I never met him and though, I went back numerous times, he would NOT see me. I would give this store zero stars except all the rest of the workers were very sweet and helpful. I tried to contact the Seattle store but they would not respond. I had contacted corporate who stated this was not supposed to happen that it was forbidden and that I should contact the Seattle store. But that manager also would not see me or respond to phone...
Read moreService last night was beyond poor. There were 33 patrons in the barely moving check out line. Yes, I counted...I was number 27. The number of cashiers continuously fluctuated between 1 and 3 as one or more of the gals randomly left from behind the counter to return minutes later. As we waited in frustration, I noticed an older grey haired man counting money at one of the three unused registers. He seem consumed with what he was doing and not aware of the mile long line. I stepped out of line and walked over to the gentleman. "Excuse me sir, is there a chance we could get additional cashiers to help us?" I asked. He looked up at me and uttered "well we have four people checking out". At that moment there was now one gal behind the counter. I then said to him, the line is extremely long and moving very slowly. That was a mistake...the employee looked at me with utter discontent and condescendingly stated "I'll see what I can do." I smiled, said thank you and returned to my place in line. Mr. Congeniality then made his way to the rear of the store near the admin offices. Several minutes later, an announcement asking an employee to assist at "the check out counter" was heard. Another gal came up to assist in cashiering which brought the number to two, but made little impact on the long line of us waiting to be checked out. By now, I had been waiting in line with a full bascart for 10 minutes. Because my lower back was tense and began locking up, I could no longer take the abuse. I excused myself from the check out line, parked my cart next to the front counter, walked to my car and drove to the Renton Goodwill. This was a disappointing experience to...
Read moreThe line for dropping off was just under an hour long. I called before I went there to make sure they would take the couch and loveseat set I had loaded out in my truck, and the lady said as long as they were in great condition, they would accept them. I waiting 50+ minutes in the donations line that started outside the entrance (at 152nd?), and once I got to the head of the line and got out to start releasing the ratchet straps on the load(the whole time the kid was standing there watching me, presumably waiting for me to get unstrapped so he could put it on the cart heâd brought over), when some guy appeared from inside the building saying they wonât accept big furniture. Even after I told him I was given the go ahead on the phone and mentioned his fellow employee was about to accept them if he hadnt shown up, he still kept saying âwe no accept. We no acceptâ. So I pulled aside to let the people behind me continue while I strapped the load back down and headed to the transfer station. Itâs not anyoneâs fault, really. I mean, goodwill is a massive operation. I canât imagine keeping everything straight in a corporation that takes unregulated, unproven and uninspected personal household goods and clothing and somehow gets it out to the shelves with a Price tag and sold to the public without there being SOME lack of communication or misinterpretation of the rules or the adjustments in policy they must have to make from week to week... and now with COVID!? Forget about it! (I changed my review from a 4 to a 5.. they are doing...
