A big disappointment for a vegan restaurant. I was really looking forward to checking this place out when I arrived in the Seattle area as I read the previous reviews and alot of people in the vegan FB groups were recommending to come here. I was really disappointed with the quality of food, especially for the price they were asking. Most vegan restaurants I find genuinely have a passion for creating amazing tasting vegan meals in nice atmospheres, really surpassing non vegan restaurants...however this place was the biggest let down I have ever experienced for vegan dining. I had the steamed dumplings... which I was expecting to be full of flavor and vegetables of course! They contained maybe 1 or 2 small shreds of veg... wasn't even recognizable what vegetable it was and rice noodles... not much filling at all and just tasted like the dough the dumpling was made of. The sauce was just soy sauce & vinegar... served in a plastic take a way container! Which was really a big sign of how much they actually care about your dining experience IMO. I've never in my life been to a dine in restaurant where they used take away anything for serving your food... so this was very shocking. Then I had the laksa, which on the menu stated tofu, bean sprouts and vegetables with rice noodles and broth. It had everything except for any vegetables! Just had the tofu, bean sprouts, noodles and broth... if they had included vegetables like capsicum, broccoli and baby bok choy it would have been a really tasty dish. But with the way they served it, it lacked substantial ingredients to really complete the dish. Their margins must be really good though I must say... as all they basically were serving was dough, noodles and broth with a bit of tofu! Both of these dishes came out to $26 and was not worth the price at all. Hoping they will improve their food, otherwise I don't think I will ever return again. Which is a real shame. It has potential for being a great place to eat. Also thought it was really weird for a vegan restaurant to have a fish tank with goldfish...
Pros: Potential for a great menu and dishes, All vegan menu, That's it.
Cons: Lack of vegetables in dishes, Overpriced for what you get, Mediocre dining...
Read moreIt’s really rare that I rate anything low, let alone as low as I can, but this place earned it. The food was incredibly bland, including the noodles one of my friend got that were supposed to be spicy- it also took 25mins longer to get her plate of food than the rest of our food, despite there only being two other tables full- one of which had been there before us and had all their food already.
I went ahead and tried the spinach and beancurd soup, and the beancurd tofu was just… plain. Not a single bit of seasoning. I’ve included a photo for you. It truly tasted like they just cut it up and dropped it in last minute. The soup was also lukewarm.
My other friend got the sizzling rice soup and it also came out lukewarm. The vegetables were totally unseasoned and limp, and there were very few of them. The soup itself had no flavor, and it had the same unseasoned beancurd tofu. “The rice was fine but it’s hard to mess that up.”
My other friend who got the noodles said the water was fine. We also got a plate of potstickers that barely had anything in them, and came out lukewarm.
I ended up drinking the plastic cup of soy sauce that came with our potstickers like a shot as a joke, and was disappointed to discover it did have more seasonings than the actual food.
All in all, horrific experience and I truly think my friends and I bonded over the wasted $71 (I’ve included the receipt in my photos too) more than we ever would’ve good food. My friend tipped $5 because she’s a saint and felt bad for the restaurant.
We laughed the entire way to Trader Joe’s where we spent $15 on enough food for all of us, and we’re enjoying our evening elsewhere.
Thank you for your… place to...
Read moreCompletely unprofessional and biased. Came in to try out this restaurant and before I was even seated the owner stuck out his hand in a gesture to express "you can't sit and order". I asked why and he says "because we are vegetarian restaurant" I reply "that's exactly why I've drove here" When I asked for his manager or someone other I can speak with he actually called the police and said he was the owner. I was totally shocked and immediately left. I went ahead and ordered at a restaurant one block away and soon as I was finished eating I spotted a police car. I walked up to the friendly officers and confirmed to them that I was just a college student trying to try out this vegetarian joint I've spotted when I've searched online for vegan joints. The officers were nice and confirmed that the owner called them for no legitimate reason whatsoever. I asked them if that was a crime to which they responded "maybe". ..........Pretty sure misuse of 911 is a crime. ......Pretty sure wasting police resources is wrong especially when you're a restaurant owner who should be open minded and non discriminatory with all public customers. Also pretty sure having biases against certain customers or potential customers/orientation/race/gender is also wrong Maybe it was because I was black?? Or maybe it was because he legit thought I wasnt a vegan.....??
My advice don't go here. Read several negative reviews online and would advise others...
