I have been here many times and have usually had a great experience. Last night I placed an order for three pizzas. The total was almost $80. I called in my order and while they asked me for my name, they didn't ask for my number. When we arrived 2 of 3 pizzas were ready. Apparently, the fig is now out of season so there's no fig pizza. That would have been fine, had I been told on the phone when i called or called back about a replacement. I was not upset about the fig not being available as much as I was upset that the 2 other pizzas being cooked without idea of what was to happen about the third pizza. So we had to order the third after the others were done, which left us with 2 cold pizzas we had to reheat when we arrived home. 20 minutes to heat the oven and cook the pizza after the other was already eaten.
Worse yet, we did not get a refund for the difference. They offered us a soda instead, which made no sense since we left one friend waiting on the pizzas while we drove off to get drinks from the store down the street, because pricing and lack of parking. Point is, we went home with 2 cold pizzas and 1 hot lower priced pizza and waited twice as long. No refund and nothing to make up for the wait or the cold pizzas.
All of us were upset, but did not want to ruin our night by making a scene over it. They were made aware of the price difference while ringing my friend up and ignored it. She asked about it, but no one thought it would be a big deal to charge her for all 3 before the 3rd had been decided on yet. (I was around the corner, in my car with my hazards on, looking at the menu while she was on the phone with me after she paid). Just would have been nice if they had thought of asking for a number in case this happened, but even more so that they would have only charged her for the 2 they actually cooked and not a third that didn't exist. And even further, giving her the refund when she asked. Not a soda we didn't need. Very sad this went the way it did. Didn't give off the vibe this shop...
Read moreDelicious freshly made oven baked pizza. I ate here the first few days it was opening. I overheard the chefs speaking Italian. I went over to talk to them and they take their business very serious. They mentioned they want to provide the best authentic Italian oven baked pizza. They have! It's truly fresh tasting to the crust. I usually get the pizza rossa (red sauce) with grape tomatoes and arugula on it. You can make your own or pick from the ones they already have as a choice. They had fig with prosciutto and arugula the other night when I went. I was tempted but stayed with my craving for my go to. I tend to do that...lol When I love something I'm afraid to switch it up. I'm sure anything there is delicious. My friend ordered the prosciutto with arugula and loved it. It was his first time there. The pizza pie is just big enough for 1 person possibly 2. I ate most of mine and had 2 slices for leftvovers. So, I get to enjoy it again at home. They also sell and serve you a Coke from a glass bottle like the original kind. So, it definitely has a better taste. They make fresh brewed unsweetened tea. Which is pretty good. I prefer sweetened so I ordered an orange Fanta and got a huge glass bottle of it. I ended up sharing it with my friend. This place is located in the Redondo Riviera Village. After you eat you can stroll along the street, check out the other restaurant type bars and have a cocktail or two. A great place for a romantic evening for two or just as good for a group. Parking is metered parking but free after 9pm. Places seem to be opened later in that area. If you decide to go earlier make sure you feed the meter and watch for parking signs. California is on it with that. You want to prevent an unnecessary added charge for your evening. I love this pizza place! 🍕 Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Buon...
Read moreWent to eat there for dinner for the first time and found a really big bug in my wife's salad. We brought this to the attention of one of the staff(appeared to be the manager). She looked at it and said it happens because it's a salad and it's organic. I understand the pesticide free factor of organic, but it makes me wonder if they washed the leaves before serving. She said it happens all the time. Obviously, we have all ordered salads in restaurants and it definitely isn't a common occurrence to have bugs in them. She made us feel bad about asking and implied we should have known that this is very common. She didn't even offer to take it off our bill. My parents actually ended up paying for the salad because we were celebrating a birthday and didn't want to make a scene. I get it that it's nearly impossible to avoid having unexpected critters in your food, but it was the way in which she handled it that really...
