I travel extensively for work, and I have the privilege of eating at some really nice restaurants, so when I saw Pacific Standard Prime online, I thought I would give it a try. We called and made a reservation, and upon arriving, we were sat immediately. The atmosphere was quite laid back and almost casual, but there was nice detail along all steps of service. To the point we were offered two different types of steak knives, depending on how we liked cutting our steaks. There was plenty of variety on the menu, and there were even multiple Wagyu farms they bought meat from. We started with the homemade Sourdough Boule and the calamari. Both were spot on. I had the Robbins Island NY Strip and my brother had the Wanderer Filet. They were both a perfect mid-rate. The steaks came with a choice of sauce/topping (i.e. homemade steak sauce, chimichurri, cognac cream sauce, etc.). We tried the homemade steak sauce and the chimichurri, and they were both delicious. The Creamy Scalloped Potatoes were amazing, and the Brussel Sprouts were good. These were the only part of the dinner that we weren't super impressed with, but I think we simply didn't care for the way they cook them. I'm sure they were prepared the way the chef wants them cooked, For dessert we truly pigged out. We tried a pistachio pudding, a pumpkin bread pudding, and two other desserts. I was in a food coma by the end of the meal and I am having a hard time remembering the other two desserts. The manager stopped by to check on us, and when we were leaving, the owner wished us a good night. I asked for a cup of water to go, and the owner brought me a bottle of water that had been imported from somewhere. It was nice. Long story short, if you are looking for a nice place to eat in or near Rodonodo Beach, I highly recommend you give this place a try. The big national restaurant brands will continue to get diners through their doors. They do things well and people know who they are. But if you are willing to try something different all while give a local restauranteur your dollars, you will not be disappointed with Pacific Standard Prime. I can't remember my server's name, but if you read this, thanks again. We were the twins that sat in your station on a Saturday night in early December a few hours before you took off to Vegas to catch a...
Read moreKevin and Staff, On New Years Eve 2 couples arrived at Pacific Standard Prime to celebrate the 2022 New Year. After being seated we looked at the menu and placed our 4 course order all at once. 50 minutes later the first course which was soup arrived in coffee cups. Soup was delicious, presentation was off point. Second course arrived 20 minutes after that which consisted of 3 salads and one order of oysters. The salad portions consisted of 5 tiny pieces of salad with 8 olives on each plate and looked as though it was already served and eaten by another customer. The oysters were over-cooked and chewy. Third course arrived and The Rack of Lamb was burnt, the salmon was cold and the 2 filet mignons were lukewarm. The bone marrow sauce for the filet mignon was cold and I asked the waiter to please rewarm. He took it to the kitchen and came back to tell me that the Chef stated it cannot be rewarmed because it would cause coagulation. All 4 meals were either lukewarm or burnt. Then came the fourth course dessert….. 3 Chocolate Desserts and one order of the Pumpkin Fritters. The chocolate dessert was a tiny sliver which consisted of 2 small bites. The pumpkin fritters and dipping sauce were delicious. We also purchased two bottles of wine as bringing our own was not an option that particular evening. Total amount for dinner that night was over $900.00. The per person cost of $110.00 was reasonable but the service and quality was not satisfactory or at an acceptable level of quality.
Kevin - I cannot honestly recommend your restaurant when my friends and colleagues ask how our experience was. I hope this information helps resolve the issues which were...
Read moreEverything from phoning in our reservation request to leaving the restaurant was phenomenal! Michael took my call and accommodated our large party (of 8) with reservations. He was cheerful and excited to meet us on the day we'd be dining. And sure enough, he came over to say hello and check in on us. Stephanie and the wait staff were excellent! They checked on us frequently, made drink and dinner recommendations, thoroughly answered our questions, cleared our dishes, and more importantly made our children feel welcomed, special, and important! She found a common interest with each child, conversed with them, and even danced with them! We received a visit from the owner, as well. He wanted to ensure our dining experience was pleasant and congratulated our 🎓graduate. Our family took photos outside the restaurant after leaving and the host came out and offered to take group photos of us.
Our drinks and dinners were amazing. The kids raved about the Mac and cheese, steak, and salmon. Our kids finished their entire meal and went on and on about how delicious it was. They even got cookie monster ice cream at the end!
Our party ordered the filet mignon, boneless ribeye, and bone-in ribeye. All steaks were cooked perfectly to each of our liking. The sides we ordered were Mac n cheese, asparagus, mashed potatoes, and mushroom and onions. Stephanie brought a plate of knives and allowed us to select our own steak knives.
If you are considering this as a dinner option, please try it out, I'm positive you'll enjoy it and become a...
