I would like to tell you about my final visit to D's Six Pax & Dogz. I had been a regular and often did not bring my ID in when getting a beer at the bar since I am over 30. This time, however, the bartender insisted that I show my ID after ordering a beer and hot dog. I did not want to cause a problem, so I went back to bring my ID. (Even though, technically, since they had already permitted me into the bar area of the restaurant, which implies that I could not be there legally as a minor. See the "Pizza Hut exception", which is the only of the five exceptions which could legally permit a minor to be in an establishment which serves alcoholic beverages.
5.Minors at food-oriented establishments (“Pizza Hut exception”)If a restaurant, hotel, or retail dispenser licensed premises has gross sales of food and non-alcoholic beverages equal to fifty percent (50%) or more of its combined gross sales of both food and alcoholic beverages, then minors are permitted on the premises. The presence of a parent, legal guardian, or proper supervisor is not necessary. Minors present under the Pizza Hut exception are not permitted to sit in the bar section of the premises. Further, no alcoholic beverages can be served to any adult at the table or booth where the minor is seated (unless the minor is also there with a parent, legal guardian, or proper supervisor), without risk of citation by the Bureau for having minors frequent the premises.)
After returning with my ID, I waited for my beer which I had ordered. After eating my food, I decided to step out for some fresh air. At this point the bartender took notice and accused me of shoplifting. I informed him that my tab was still open and I was awaiting my beer. Much to my dismay, he said that he would not serve me even after presenting him with my ID. I told them that I was not going to pay until I received the things I had ordered. Thus, an impasse. I would like to note that while the bartender (and now also the owner) and I were discussing this outside, my friend and his wife entered the restaurant witnessing what was becoming a scene.
I would like to point out at this point, any smart customer service oriented business should attempt to deescalate the situation. After all, is so much bad PR really worth $12? Instead, they threatened to call the cops numerous times.
After being extorted into paying for hot dog, the owner assaulted me outside bringing his hand in my face, and saying that he "beats punks like me all the time". In addition, another "regular" made similar statements implying violence if I did not "get to steppin'", even though that I was not even on their property at this...

So I walk into Dee's, and I notice multiple empty tables, still filled with the clutter from previous patrons. Understanding that these things happen, I decide to take a seat: as there's no host near the door, nor wait(er/ress) recognizing that we have been walking through, looking to find a table. Oh, not to mention, it's a bar, so... We take our seats, and one of the waitresses (who was so clearly busy rolling silverware) decides to finally let me know that "you can't sit here, there's a wait".
Well, let me tell you, if you had taken a moment to recognize the capacity of the restaurant or even the new patrons coming in, perhaps you would have began working to clean the tables which are so "apparently" backed up.
I didn't come to a BAR to be told I can sign onto the wait-list, when there's multiple tables available and the waitress is too invested in purposefully ignoring the restaurants guests. It's not my problem if you're in the weeds, it's a place to sell food/beverages and (consequently) fill tables.
If you're having a hard time serving HOT DOGS and (poorly made) WINGS, you PROBABLY shouldn't be a server in the first place. It's NOT fine dining: who the hell makes a reservation for HOT DOGS and a BEER?

Read moreThis one my and my wife's favorite places. The hot dogs are awesome. They have several types of "hot dog" types to choose from, including beef, turkey, brots, and kielbasa, as well as what seems like an infinite amount of toppings or combination of toppings. In addition to the hot dogs, D's has great wings. They have a variety of sauces and rubs. You can get both bone-in and boneless wings. One of the best reason to go to D's is the beer. They have about 40 taps and their selection ranges across the entire gambit of styles of beers. In addition to the taps, D's has a great selection of bottled beer. You can choose bottled beer from their walk-in cooler or from their beer cave, which has over 1100 beers. If I had a complaint about D's, it would be that sometimes their selection of tap beers is limited because they are featuring a style. For example, they have Christmas in July and most of their beers are Christmas beers and don't have many IPAs (my favorite style) on tap. However, they do cellar beers so you can see several years of a beer on tap. For example, over this Christmas they had several years of Mad Elf on tap. One of D's best offerings is their staff. They are always friendly and remember people's names. We have been going there for years and have developed friendships with many of the staff. There is very little turn over in staff so the same people have worked at...
