My three kids and I were invited to a birthday party at The Mill and were truly excited to attend. We had heard great things about The Mill. We arrived and a young cashier told me that kids were FREE for the party but adults had to pay. I wasn't very hungry so I declined paying for the buffet. We had arrived at the party late (due to rain) so all the other kids were off playing the arcade. Later on, the kids sang happy birthday to the birthday boy and decided they wanted to eat. My youngest (6 year old), wanted some pizza but I didn't want him to be burned by the hot metal...so I went up to the buffet with him and was placing a slice on his plate. The young cashier from earlier, came to me and asked "Did you pay for that pizza?" I looked at him and said I was getting pizza for my son and that I didn't appreciate him implying that I was stealing pizza. I told him I would be speaking with the manager/owner. There was another young man standing off in the background watching the entire interaction. So, when the cashier left and went in the back, the other young man followed him. I found another employee and asked for a manager. And guess who came out? The young man who had been observing the entire incident. The manager basically justified the cashier's questioning of me and I told him that it was unprofessional and that it wasn't good for his business to accuse patrons. I told him that I wasn't sitting down with a slice of pizza in my mouth. I was at the buffet assisting my son. The manager continued to justify his employee's actions and this of course infuriated me. I told him that word of mouth is powerful, that I knew many people in our local community. I also told him that I had NEVER experienced this in all of my life. I know that I will NEVER return to the place and I basically dismissed the manager. I no longer desired to have a conversation with him because he was clearly very young and ignorant. For the duration of my time at The Mill, I sat at the table to guard the kids party favor bags and I saw the young cashier watching me. I guess to see if I would steal the plates or something. I am an Air Force veteran and my primary job dealt with servicing other military members and their family. I pride myself in having integrity and treating others with the utmost respect. Thus, I was appalled at the implication that I was trying to obtain FREE pizza (which by the way, looked visibly burned and the kids commented that the sauce tasted weird). I have been to CiCi's pizza and NEVER been questioned in such a manner (and they are always packed full of folks). Overall, my first experience at The Mill will be my last. The kids enjoyed themselves and liked the cool things they saw like the Thomas the Train track above their heads (near the ceiling). They did not really like the pizza but the arcade kept them busy and cashing in tickets!!! They were upset that I had to endure what I did on our first visit to The Mill. It's sad that as a Valdosta native, military veteran and educated female that I was made to feel that I was untrustworthy because I was assisting my young son. My prayer is that these individuals will find another place of employment because ignorance, suspicion of patrons and personal biases will hinder this establishment from keeping their...
Read moreWhen we arrived, the pizzas under the heat lamp were dark, like they were either overcooked, or sitting under the lamp too long. The latter was the case. The pizzas were not fresh and the crust was hard. Thankfully, we had a party of 7, and some other folks also came in, so they made some fresh pizzas. However, the various types come out slowly, so as you get one slice of one type, you're left waiting on other varieties. My favorite that I requested came out last. And I didn't even know it was there. They typically call out the name if the pizza when they put it out. Either it didn't get called or the person was soft-spoken. Anyway, by the time I noticed it, I didn't want any more pizza. Disappointed. After eating there, I had indigestion and bloating. This place was great when it first opened, but the quality of the food has gone down. If we do decide to return, it...
Read moreThis place is pretty cool. It has a small pizza bar, and it also has spaghetti and hotdogs. It also has a small sale bar. It has games in it like a chicky cheese where you buy tokens and win tickets. It's not big, but it does have some fun games, and the grandkids really loved it. The atmosphere is a bunch of different themselves with emphases on old movies. It really is a cool little place to take the kids. The best part is that it isn't expensive. It is really reasonably priced. The 5 of us ate there for 32.00. The staff are nice and helpful. One guy could have been a little more friendly or maybe even smiled, but he wasn't exactly rude, so maybe he was just having an off day. It didn't distract from the fun. Over all I'd say this is a nice, family fun place that won't break the bank. We will definitely be...
