Day after Thanksgiving wanted to have a family thanksgiving dinner Friday after our big family dinner on Thursday. Called at 2 pm. To start our wait time. Automated service said 30 minute wait time. Arrived at BJ's at 2:10 and checked in. The host said it would still be 30 minute wait time even though we were in 10 minutes of the 30 they originally said. Ok. Seated at 3:05 p.m an hour (double) the wait time originally given. Ok. Order food and drinks, everything is fine. I order an ahi salad he orders a rib and steak combo, our child orders chicken tenders and fruit. 25 something minutes later my salad and her chicken tenders come out. No ribs or steak. I ask for the dressing with the salad that I had originally ordered and the young food runner said he would be right back with it. 10 minutes later still no dressing still no steak and ribs. Mind you my ahi is sashimi which is supposed to be eaten right away and while still cold so it tastes good. About another 10 minutes later my boyfriend's steak, asparagus and mashed potatoes come out. We tell the food runner (who turned out to be Ana a manager) that it was supposed to have ribs as well. She says no problem, we'll go get those ribs and be right back out with the dish in a minute. Another 10 minutes and our server finally came to check on our dinner. We told him I'm still waiting on dressing and we're still waiting for our correct combo to come out. He apologies and comes back to the table with dressing and the original plate Ana had brought us.... With no ribs... And sitting in the window for 10 minutes just cooling. He puts it on the table and we state this is what was brought before, but look, our ribs aren't on the plate. Ana said she'd be right back with that. Anyway, by the time he got back the steak was cold, mashed potatoes old and dang I was still waiting to eat with my boyfriend so we could have a meal together. This is the 3rd time BJ's has let us down and first time I've said something. I did talk to the manager who said we could have a pazookie ( nice, but I didn't come for a chocolate chip cookie). Just so disappointed. BJ's used to be sooo good and now I just paid $150 ($124 before tip)for a Cold steak, mashed potatoes and ahi that...

Aweful...Just aweful....

My wife and I called BJ's restaurant at 5:58pm on Sunday and ordered a 32oz root beer, personal pizza and a chicken alfredo. We were very nice and asked when it would be ready. Brea told us it would be 20 to 25 minutes. We arrived at 6:20 and called them and told Brea that we were in space 12 for delivery. We called in with our credit card 5 minutes later so we could hurry the transaction. At 6:42pm we finally received our food after we were told it would be just a few minutes. As we drove away, we noticed that we didn't get our root beer. We called to let them know but our call went directly to music on hold. Still on hold I got out of our truck and went inside to let them know they forgot our root beer. It was busy so I waited. Then the lady said "who is next"? I said I am, and you didn't finish my order. She said what do you need. I said I didn't get my 32oz root beer. See said Ok we will get that for you. Then this guy comes out with rubber gloves and has his hand over the top of the drink palming it like a basketball. I am thinking, How many germs on on those gloves. Those gloves are there to protect him, not my drink. I told the same person that gave us the food (her name was Chelsea) that I had given her a $5 tip and I didn't want that drink that was so carelessly handed to me. I told her I wanted a new drink that was not handled in that way. She said, " Say Please...Use your manners...We are really busy here". I said my manners went right out the window. We arrived home and realized we didn't get a copy of my credit card receipt. I am on my way back to BJ's to get my receipt. Aweful service and not sanitary. Take the food at...

So we were a party of 11 and apparently that was a lot. I ordered the prime rib which I know as a chef is a fairly quick dish to make assuming that their mashed potatoes are held in a steam table how their vegetables are held not entirely sure. Food came out looking like it's at the window first while all the other dishes were being prepared. Dry really red as a meat had began to oxidize. My mashed potatoes and asparagus for cold to the touch as was my prime rib. No big deal I sent it back and ask them to make it again. It looked as if when the meat or plate I should say came back that it was just dumped into a third pan of ajus to heat the meat back up. Seeing as how I physically touch the meat with my hands and about 90% positive that's how they reheated it my hand intern went into the ajus. So obviously a form of cross-contamination at that point of the entire container. Send it back again for a second time. Asking for the medium rare piece of me that I had originally ordered not a well-done piece of shoe leather. Looks like the manager had brought out my third plate of food and it was made correctly. I told him it was no big deal did not mention the fact that I'm sure he was not aware of the cross contamination that have gone on with the ajus container in the back. Food was really good but the lack of quality control by the kitchen and food runner was unacceptable. When you have 11 people dropping 30 plus dollars a plate. Plus plenty of beers and cocktails. They took my plate off the bill but I don't understand why being a chef I always get the weirdest situations at food establishments. Second time I've had a not awesome experience at...

BJ's has this deal on Monday's any take out large pizza ia 1/2 off price. But if you're a local and know about it, they offer this deal every weekday! Just on take out though. I love deep dish pizza, like Chicago style where the pizza is more like a pie with tall edge crust and deep fillings with a thinner crust at the bottom. Sadly this is NOT what you get here at BJ's. The deep dish pizza is really actually deep CRUST pizza with regular thin toppings, just like you'd get on a regular pizza. The only thing more you get is a thick bread crust on the bottom. I was sorely disappointed with this, considering I'd been to dine in with the lunch special mini deep dish, and that WAS deep fillings and thin bottom crust, so I was hoping the large deep dish would be the same! But NOOOO! OK, so I only paid half price. Regular price this thick crusted monstrosity was around $34.00! so I paid $17.00 and tax. There's no way it was worth $34 bucks, but $17? Ehh , yeah it's was OK for $17, but it was mos def not what I was expecting compared to the lunch special mini deep dish that was mos fab. Maybe I'm hoping it was just the pizza cook at the time I went and if I said how I wanted the pizza made it might be different? I dunno, maybe the management needs to comment on that.

I went to have lunch with a military buddy and to watch the NFL games at BJs on their huge TV. We sat in the bar area and were waited on by a amazing waiter named Thomas, he was very kind and supper knowledgeable about the menu and the hand crafted beers, I had the Hopstorm while having some great happy hour sliders for $7 buck, Thomas sold me $200.00 in BJs gift cards and he gave us $40.00 in free bonus cards and a 20% off card for use in January. He upsold me my fav beer and I took a six pack of hopstorm home for later, Thomas is by far the top 1% of professional waiters in this town. Hats off to BJs for having amazing kind/friendly professional waitstaff. Also at the end of my stay one of the managers named JOJO came and talked to me and made my BJs experience even better . Merry Christmas to your amazing team at the BJs in the Submit all!!!!!

In the time of hole-in-the-wall and "hipster" restaurants (which, don't get me wrong, I love) it sometimes feels like large chain restaurants are going by the wayside. And sure, there are still those that thrive like the microwave restaurant that is Chili's (which sometimes just hits a craving that I have, so no love lost), but BJ's is always a solid, solid choice. Great selection of local and national beers, their happy hours is about as good as you can get. And their food always tastes fresh. I had their slow roasted tri-tip special with mozzarella and tomato salad (not pictured, I inhaled that thing) with mashed potatoes as my sides. And their Oasis Amber beer. If you're undecided on a Happy Hour day for a early dinner/late lunch, you really can't beat BJ's in my opinion. 🤙🏾
