PJ & Company — Restaurant in Reno

This review will focus on the service and food. Our server was very nice and accommodating. However, after receiving our food, I was disappointed. Based on the restaurant's positive Yelp reviews, I expected at least 4-star quality, especially regarding food presentation.

The potatoes were burnt and appeared to be leftovers that had been reheated on the grill. This reheating method is commonly referred to as "sandbagging" in the restaurant industry. The Jalisco omelet was also less than desirable. Although it seemed freshly made, the eggs were not fluffy like a proper omelet. Instead, they were scrambled with tasteless sausage and then formed into an omelet shape. The Hollandaise sauce on the Eggs Benedict tasted like flour and had the consistency of white gravy.

When paying the bill, our waitress hesitantly asked about our meal. Her hesitation suggested she was aware the food's presentation and quality were subpar. She apologized and mentioned our feedback to whom I presumed was one of the owners—a lady with sandy blonde, longer hair, dressed in ribbons and pigtails. This woman defended the Hollandaise sauce, claiming it was a "sherry sauce that people come for." Interestingly, there's no mention of a famous sherry Hollandaise sauce on the menu or in reviews, which leads me to believe this is a self-proclaimed specialty. She did not apologize for the meal, but then again, she didn't see the food herself. Most owners would go back to the kitchen to check the quality of the food being served; this was not the case here.

I went here for my birthday dinner on March 9th sorry my review is late life got busy... It got busy quick The reason for the four star review is because the service started good but it gotten slow really quick. I understand being busy but be more attentive with your customers. We got chips & salsa late about 20 minutes after sitting down which was uncalled for... But the food was fantastic the beer battered onion rings were delicious and had a nice flavor on the onion rings nice & crispy not soggy... I've gotten a chili burger the burger patty was delicious nice char on it the chili was really good too. The only issue with the chili it could be a little bit more spicy turn up the heat PJ's My dad gotten French fries and a BBQ chicken Sandwich, they didn't put enough chicken on the bun so the chicken to bun ratio was off but my dad said it's really yummy really good BBQ sauce as well. My mom gotten the Hawaiian burger my mom gave me a bite the burger patty tastes really good as well great char and the pineapple was nice & sweet... Here are my final thoughts on PJ's & Company here in Reno NV on Wells Ave... It was a great experience over all except the service with are waitress was mid she is really nice though... People who work there are really nice people I will definitely return with both my parents & try their breakfast next time... I will give PJ's & Company a solid...

This place has super friendly staff and great service. Walking in waiting/exit area is very cramped. We were greeted by the cashier immediately. The wait was short. We were given an option of where to sit. Hindsight we should've sat on the patio, but we chose a low table. Big tvs in the huge bar area. Cool motorsport decor. We were greeted immediately with ice water. Our server came by shortly after. They have a huge breakfast menu. My husband chose the huevos rancheros with house potatoes. It was a huge portion and was very good. Our kid had the fresa french toast. Also huge and delicious. I chose biscuits and gravy. It is few and far between that I have had terrible gravy. This gravy was not good at all. It lacked flavor, seasoning and tasted like hamburger not sausage. It had a weird aftertaste i can't quite put my finger on. It was inedible. The server came by and checked on us shortly after our food was served and I told her that my dish was terrible. She seemed to know it was the gravy because she immediately added if it was the gravy. I said yes it was. She offered my another choice, I decided to just share my family's meals. My dish was removed from the bill. I feel like maybe this was just a one time mess up on the gravy.
