11.12.23: I love pizza is an understatement! Tonight I felt kinda sweet and spicy and went with the medium Blind Hawaiian pizza, spicy meaning just adding the pepper packet. I enjoyed the saltiness of the Canadian Bacon paired with sweet bites of pineapple and topped with parmesan cheese and peppers. If there was any complaint, I wished my red onions were cooked a tad bit more but nothing to squawk about really. On the other hand, there was plenty of pineapple and that was nice. Again, the crust was perfect and yummy as always.
I ordered through Door Dash and am giving the store and the driver props for remembering to include the ranch and honey that I requested.
10.29.23: Tonight I felt like a BBQ Chicken Pizza and it hit the spot. However my pizza could have used a tad bit more bbq sauce...I was feeling more saucy than usual. I had it delivered through doordash and it even arrived a few minutes early!
Fall update 10.23.23: I was craving a pepperoni pizza and remembered my local Blind Onion has a happy hour special from 2-6p on any 1 topping large pizza for $19.45 that's with tax included! I'll take a 20 buck bomb gourmet pizza any day of the week. I called it in for pick-up and the gentleman who answered was pleasant and said it'd be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived it was ready and he didn't mind giving me a couple of ranch dressings and honey at my request. They do have peppers and cheese upon request. Again from previous reviews, my favorite is dipping the braided crust in honey for a sweet bite. It's worth noting that there was plenty of pepperoni. Also the pizza reheats really great. I took a picture of the specials board, so check it out.
Update: 2.2.2023 I had it a few times since my review 2 months ago and had it again tonight lol. This time I added pics!
I love the Blind Onion! It's consistently delicious and always hot. The gourmet braided crust is my favorite and I love dipping it in the honey they have there. Tonight I ordered the traditional General's combo and wasn't disappointed at all! They are always so generous with the toppings too. I also got the garlic chips and love that they're thin, yet still soft and tasty.
2 months ago: I love Blind Onion pizza! I usually get their combo and they aren't stingy with the amount of toppings. The braided crust dipped in honey at the end is a treat. Their garlic chips are...
Read moreI recently went to the kings row location and I am so confused. To preface this, I have been to three other blind onion locations in reno/sparks, so I know ehat blind onion pizza tastes like.
Is this blind onion the same as the other blind onions in reno? My first confusion was the atmosphere. It felt kind of dirty and small and weird. Then there was the menu. It was not the same as the other ones. The pizzas were different and there were items missing, like the cinnamon/garlic twists. They had no fountain or water cup options either, which was strange.
We ordered a medium half and half pizza and some wings, which wasn't cheap, but I knew what o was paying for and Ive had their pizza before and was happy to pay for it. The two people working there were very nice and accommodating, but that is about the only good thing I could say about the experience.
We got our wings first. They came with carrots and celery, like as wings, but the carrots were baby carrots. I know thats so picky, but I have never gotten baby carrots with wings before. It just felt cheap. The wings obviously came with ranch too, but the ranch was STORE BOUGHT ranch! One of the things Blind onion is known for is their delicious homemade ranch!
The pizza came next. While tw topping on the meat pizza were good, the bottom crust wasn't sturdy enough to hold up the pizza and the bottom was soggy. The crust was CLEARLY a different dough recipe than blind onions as it was hard and crusty rather than fluffy and it didnt have that twist pattern.
Blind onion has set a standard at their other locations with very specific things. I am seriously so confused how this pizza location is called blind onion, because literally nothing is the same except the name. If I walked into this pizza place not knowing ehat it was called, I would not guess it was blind onion. Either way, I will never go back to this location, and if youre a fan of blind onion pizza, I would encourage you to pick a different location or skip...
Read morePhone call started off rough with a gruff man who didn’t seem to want to be bothered with my order. The same man rang me up and brought out my food, and as he was getting it I noticed how filthy everything was in the store, covered in a thick layer of grease and dust. I paid almost $24 for a Caesar salad and some cheesy garlic bread.
The bread was cold (even though I picked it up top on time and ate it in my car while waiting for my laundry) - some mozzarella and basil thrown onto cheap French bread. Mediocre at best.
The salad was huge, but mostly composed of haphazardly chopped romaine (many yellow chunks and brown pieces intermixed), and I would be surprised if the lettuce was washed first. 🤢
I will say there were lots of toppings on the salad and the dressing tasted good, but it didn’t come with enough dressing. Very cheap ingredients, and felt like a fast food salad, which I was trying to avoid because I’ve been fighting off an illness and was hoping to eat at least a little bit better today.
I am a struggling musician, and I eat ramen and bottom of the barrel fast food more often than I’d like to admit, so when I choose to pay this kind of money for a meal, it is extra sad and disappointing when it’s low...
