In short: come eat here.
In long: My spouse and I LOVE pho. Not the cilantro salad we can get in our hometown, or the water noodles you can get on the supermarket shelf, but pho.
These guys have it. You don't go to a place called pho for a hamburger. You don't go for lumpia. You go for pho. So that's exactly what I did. I ordered pho and a Thai iced tea without boba (I love Thai tea, not so much boba) and they offered whipped cream on it. I'd never tried that so I went for it.
I like my pho loaded with the works - beef, bone, tendon, tripe, you name it. The meats included on their number 3 were not the most expansive I've ever had in pho, but they were plenty enough and well done. The tripe had that soft bumpy tuxture and mild squish/crunch I crave, and the tendon pieces were enormous relative to what I've had inthe past and I loved it! Often when I get pho, the beef is still fairly red when it gets to table and I push it in to let it cool some more. This was still very slightly pink, but not at all rare, not attached to any bone. It was also delightful.
As a rule, I try it first and then season it to taste. The broth was excellent, though not quite the same as formulas I've tried elsewhere. The basil, sprouts, and jalapeno were all fresh and crisp, and they served it with lemon (I'm more used to seeing it with lime, but this was just fine).
I've never tried pho and Thai iced tea in tandem before today, but I recommend it! Going from a sip of sweet creamy tea to the savory oils and meaty aroma of your pho is an exceptional combination, and it's now my preferred drink of choice with GOOD pho. Go ahead and pass on the whipped cream. Nice on its own, but really not necessary for this meal. The drink is sweet enough.
All told, this is my second favorite pho restaurant out of the 30 or so states I've been to, the only one to beat it being in North Idaho (Coeur D'Alene - check it out!)
If I ever make my way back to Reno, you can bet I'll be coming here again, one way or another. It's a short walk from the Atlantis where I was staying, and I would recommend it even over their luscious buffet (which actually includes pho) for at least one meal.
Gracious staff, and confortablr environment I've cone to expect from a real pho establishment, and GOOD AUTHENTIC Pho.

Read moreI ordered the Seafood Pho and when it was delivered to my table I thought that I had someone else's order however as it turned out it was my order, they the so called seafood Pho had no Shrimp or prawns, no clams nothing of the sort, in fact it had two small and I mean small pieces of what I think was squid and a small slither of fake crab meat, the rest of the "SO CALLED SEAFOOD PHO" was loaded with thin slices of greasy pork, when I tasted the broth it had absolutely no flavor at all, now I have had Pho noodles for well over 30 years, and I know what good Pho is, this restaurant does NOT HAVE GOOD PHO, it's very low end Pho, needless to say I did not even eat my meal after I tasted the soup, the spring rolls ARE NOT FRESH, the are pre-made and wrapped in plastic, they are dry and have absolutely no flavor either, I explained to the owner of what the problem was she offered me something else but I refused that offer because judging by what the Pho was like I didn't think anything else would have been anything better or different, I told her I would pay full price for my meal, she looked very angry when she was ringing my order up, she then stated that she would give me half of my meal but when she gave me the ticket it was $19 dollars and some change, the bowl of Pho was $17 dollars and not sure how much the spring rolls were I almost laughed when she said it was half price, so that means the spring rolls costed $15 dollars😂😂 so she thinks I am that stupid or something, so as a man I decided to take the high road and gave her $40 and said here you obviously need this more than I do and I left out, I will never return to this restaurant, and I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE ELSE, you are getting very LOW QUALITY PHO...
Read more12.14.23: Met Ma for lunch at her favorite pho spot as I was craving some hot soup in the cold weather. I ordered pho with steak, flank, tendon, and tripe, 1 spring roll, and a BBQ pork bahn mi sandwich. I had traditional hot jasmine tea as my beverage of choice.
The broth of the pho is what makes the soup as well as the fresh fixings and toppings that accompany it. The bean sprouts are a fav and give the soup that good crunch.
Normally an order of spring rolls comes with 2 rolls. I like how Viet Pho gives the option of ordering just 1 roll. The rice paper was fresh and not dry or hard nor was the shrimp fishy, so that's a plus. The peanut sauce was plentiful and yummy and like how they top it with chopped peanuts for added crunch. My only complaint is the sauce was cold. I could have asked to have it warmed up but I didn't, so that's my fault.
The BBQ pork bahn mi sandwich was sooo good! My favorite of course is the homemade fresh bread. Richard, the owner, spent time and lived in Italy when he was younger and learned to make bread. His bread is amazing and yummy. The pork was tender and the carrot and pickled onion give it it's nice crunch. The fresh jalapeno slices give it that heat to complete the sandwich.
There's so much on the menu that anyone can find something they'll like and if you're adventurous, try something new. You never know you might find a new...
