I am editing my prior 5 star review to reflect my most recent experience yesterday. I wouldn't have to but, our chef determined my rating for me after refusing to fulfill our order. My son took me out last night for an early Valentine's meal. Our first menu was filled with no problem. Our second menu was not. Resulting in us both sitting there waiting for the sushi I ordered as I didn't like what was brought out first. We finally ask our waitress for another ticket to reorder what we didn't get on our 2nd menu. 20 more minutes pass and our waitress tells us our chef doesn't want to fill our order because there is still food on our table. We explained we were waiting for our order that never came on our 2nd menu, and that my son didn't want to eat in front of me and was waiting. 20 more minutes pass and another waitress approaches us and reiterates the same thing but loudly and stern. It was quite embarrassing as we now have the attention of all the other patrons in the restaurant's attention. We explained ourselves again as she clears our table of my tray and condiments and we ask for a manager, I mentioned at that time I just wanted to leave. We explain ourselves yet AGAIN and at this point- our experience is soured because our chef won't fulfill our order, the food in front of my son is now stone cold and we have a chef staring at us deciding what we can and can't have while we paid for "ALL YOU CAN EAT". My order finally filled another 20 minutes later, there is only a pair of chopsticks on my table as our table was cleared for bussing. No napkin, soy sauce or wasabi dish, water empty. I ate 5 or 6 pieces completely dry and just wanted to leave. In fact, we paid $55, my generous son still leaves a nice tip and I left hungry, dissatisfied and confused as to WHY my "chef" felt the need to dictate our menu and what we could and couldn't have. My son ate his stone cold sushi and we finally left. The manager was so kind. I was clearly embarrassed and just wanted to leave, she waived the take out fee for us as I was clearly uncomfortable there at that point being stared at and apparently judged by this chef staring at me. Nothing to drink to wash food down, no napkins.. Our older server with the long braid was so very nice to us as well. But who ever our chef was- is the entire reason for this low rating today. He made sure he absolutely ruined our dinner and kept us there over 2 hours over his refusal to fulfill our order properly to begin with- and kept sending waitresses over to tell us about it. He should totally be more concerned with the performance of his job rather than the appetites and palates of strangers he will never know. Embarrassing. The food is great! But with that kind of dictatorship behind the scenes, there are plenty of other Sushi restaurants in Reno that absolutely do not dictate your orders or feel the need to outright stare at you while you are eating. It was an extremely awkward experience which left me confused and embarrassed as to WHY a chef would take such a personal interest in my eating habits as to stare at me the entire time I was there. I can forgive a filthy restaurant with soy sauce all over the linen covers, sticky floors and disgusting bathroom but, this level of harassments and feeling of being held hostage, I can not. *Disgusted to this day to never receive a reply, apology or ANYTHING from this place, shame on you, AVOID.

This is hands down my favorite sushi spot in town. Every visit has been consistently excellent—I’ve never been disappointed. Sitting at the counter and chatting with the chefs is always a great experience. They genuinely care about their craft and want to serve you the best. The atmosphere is cool and relaxed, and surprisingly, it’s never too busy. Honestly, I’m almost hesitant to leave a glowing review because I love how it is right now—great food, great service, and no long waits. Everything they serve is top-notch. The presentation, the taste, the texture—whatever you look for in great sushi, they nail it. The fish is always fresh, and every bite is just perfect.

The wait for food to come out took very long because they put everything you order on one plate. We came during lunch and it was very limited to what we could order. The servers were really friendly and understanding, but did not know which roll was what. Some of our orders were lost and I overheard other tables rolls not being served as well. Overall, the sushi all tasted the same. I wished the rice had a better texture and had the distinct sushi flavor. Do not order the quail egg shooters I usually order this at other restaurants, but this one had so much vinegar it gave me heart burn right away.

IF YOU ARE THE MANAGER OR OWNER PLEASE READ AND SPEAK TO ANNA VERY NICE CHEF THOUGH! I will post the picture of how the food looked as well. This place really disappointed me, I was super excited to try this place out because I saw all the awesome reviews but I didn’t get what I thought was gonna be the best experience and best food... First of all I came in and the chef was friendly so I was not disappointed about that because they gave me awesome service but then my actual waitress came up to me and my fiancé and very rudely told me I need to go to the back to order my food to go.. I let it go and thought maybe her attitude would change once I go up and order.. So then when I ordered my food it was just for me and my fiancé didn’t want to eat there so she got frustrated because I only ordered one roll with nigiri (dragon ball and eel nigiri) and she looked at me weirdly and said oh that’s all you r ordering and I was like yes I’m ordering for myself and my fiancé might try one (even though it’s not your business). Then she started speaking Spanish to me and I asked her huh? And she said it twice again and was like what u mean what and looked at me like I’m crazy Nd I said sorry I don’t speak Spanish Nd she still looked at me funny then she said ohhhh I’m so sorry I didn’t know I was speaking Spanish and I laughed it off and let it go. We sat down and waited for my food but she handled two customers after me and the last customer I guess she was flustered because she messed up on her calculations and kept messing up and literally took sooo long & just a heads up my food was ready for 25 mins and she still didn’t give it to me . This was my last straw: we went to the car after I finally got my food and I opened the bag cuz I was starving then when I saw all my food the top was totally messed up the crab that comes on top was on the other side all over my nigiri and I was so mad but I didn’t want to go in because I felt like I was gonna yell at that point and I told my fiancé forget it and instead he said no I’m not leaving cuz I want you to have your sushi that you were looking forward to, so then he went inside and told that lady and she told him (oh no that’s how it should be and nothing was wrong with it and gave him attitude for wanting them to fix her mistake)... Instead he came back because he didn’t want to argue with her and my sushi did not get fixed!!!!!!! After I called and wanted to speak to the manager that lady (ANNA) answered and said no the manager isn’t there and said oh never mind and handed the phone to someone and I noticed it was the chef who made my food not a manager!! I let him know everything and he was nice and told me he apologizes and said I can bring it back and he will fix it and I told him we already tried to bring it back and she told us no and I also asked him if the crab should be on the side and he said no it’s supposed to be on top .He also informed me that she’s been acting this way and he’s trying to make her fix her attitude towards customers and told me she might be going through some problems (which I understand but don’t take it out on me and if she is going through issues then she shouldn’t be at work). It was not worth $16.54 at all!!! The reason I’m even giving them another star is cuz the...

It deeply saddens me to write a bad review for a place I used to love, but to be honest, this recent visit was horrendous. Keeping it in chronological order; upon arrival we were treated by the wait staff as if we were an inconvenience, we were hastily seated, and not given the proper utensils, place mats, straws, ect. and were only given such when asked per individual item. We were not properly greeted by wait staff nor the chef (at the bar) and it took approximately 30 minutes to receive our only appetizer and an additional 15 minutes to receive one of our parties initial order and over 45 minutes for our second party to get any item for their initial order. The environment and energy felt extremely cold and detached and asking the chef or wait staff for any additional service felt like a huge inconvenience to them. When one order for second party had to be reminded of our chef made it seem like he was aware and like we were annoying him despite the order taking a a considerent amount of time (30-45 mins). The service time was so long other parties would cut their time and leave or just pack up and leave altogether which would cause the chefs to ask remaining patrons if they'd want pre-arranged rolls for the now cancelled orders. An enjoyable venture that me and my best friend usually look forward to taking part in every so often was dampened by an extremely detached atmosphere and unprofessional service. It's hard to say whether or not me and my best friend will provide this establishment another opportunity for an updated review as our visit truly was an unwanted...
