Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by multiple people. It was warm and bright walking in. The “Auto Rikshaw” tables are funky but be prepared to sit low on one side and high in the other. They are somewhat challenging to get into, but fun nonetheless. We started with the Shamii Kabab on mini naan (toasted), this is an amazing lamb starter, with a bit of spice from what I think was Sriracha on top and the mini naan is toasted and bit crunchy. We then ordered the avocado and mango Bhel. WOW! Flavor explosion in your mouth. The puffed rice and peanuts are a nice contrast to the super ripe avocado and mango. While we were finishing this, we ordered the Fatt Pundit to help with the Bhel. The Italian butter took me back to my childhood. It was like eating a very high-end tortilla with an amazing butter. This came with lavender and spicy butter as well, all very good. We shared the main dish, not to mention all the food was shared between the two of us, which was butter chicken. This is served in a bowl with jasmine rice, salad with a vinaigrette dressing, and naan. The naan is thin and somewhat crispy. If you like your naan large, floppy and chewy, this is not the place for that, still super tasty. We decided to get the dessert, which did not disappoint. Malpua+Rabi is somewhat sweet and has pistachios in a cream sauce. If you have room, this is a must have. Shan our gracious waiter was there explaining everything we asked about, and made great suggestions that did not disappoint. Bindaas is located in the old La Hacienda building on 3rd just down from Premier Meat Pies. These are just words, please take them as you will but give them a try. They are not your typical Eastern Indian restaurant. There are many influences here and you will not be...
Read moreWe have been waiting for Bindaas to open and were so excited to see the doors open and people inside. We stopped in and sat at the bar for drinks and to sample the bar/lounge side menu.
We had a couple cocktails, both of which were delicious, beautiful, served with flair, and uniquely suited to the menu. The Tamarind Date Margarita was like a kiss and dessert, with a bubble of smoke for ambience. We also had a Blackberry Smash Margarita, but opted to have it made with tequila in lieu of the menu-described vodka—it was still wonderful, rich, and like a farewell to berry season. I also had an oat milk chai, which was an absolute treat on a grey chilly day.
Everything we ordered was both thoughtfully plated and as delicious as it was beautiful: Vegetarian Sushi (mango on coconut rice), Chips & Dips, Chicken Wings with curly fries, and the “Mom’s Love” #Sabudana Vada. We will definitely return for the full menu on the restaurant side another day.
We loved the chill vibe of the separate bar and lounge area—which would be perfect for a group, a date, or anyone who doesn’t care about the tvs or is more focused on conversation and drinks. The music was honestly popping, the decor is a vibe, and between the sofas in the lounge and the rich navy blue contrasted with the tan cane, it feels more like being in the lounge of a top floor hotel than the ground floor off 3rd in Renton. If it sounds like I’m gushing, it’s because I am.

From the moment you step in, the interiors transport you — vibrant murals, hand-painted tuk-tuks, quirky signs, and a buzz of happy conversations. The design by Runika Nandakumar and Abhishek Makkar is thoughtful, playful, and deeply nostalgic, reminding me of the colorful streets and eateries in India.
As a vegetarian, I was thrilled by the variety and creativity. The Sabudana Vadas were perfectly crispy outside and warm, chewy inside — absolute perfection. The Mango Bhel was tangy, fresh, and fun to share. The Dal Baati was such a rare find in the US and beautifully done. And the Methi Dana Aloo Sabzi was another special surprise — so flavorful and comforting, a dish I rarely see on restaurant menus. The Baingan Bharta was soulful and smoky, and others at our table said the Railway Mutton Curry was outstanding. Every dish felt curated with care, rooted in tradition yet plated with modern flair.
Beyond the food and ambiance, what makes Bindaas shine is the service. The team is warm, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel at home. On a Sunday evening, the restaurant was buzzing with energy — friends, families, laughter, and that beautiful hum of community dining.
Bindaas isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience. It brings back memories of home, family, and the joy of "ghar ka khana," while also creating something fresh and unique for Seattle.
