We had pick up this time. 2 weeks ago we had dine in and found it satisfactory. At that time we suggested that the fry oil needed to be changed.
Today we spent $120.00 for pick up. The egg rolls which we love were saturated in stale grease rendering them inedible. We had the same problem with the S/S pork, deep fried prawns, the egg rolls, & almond chicken. I had to use a mouth wash & tongue scraper to get the stale grease from coating the inside of our mouths. The wonton soup that cost nearly $19.00 only had 3 wontons in it. It was packed so poorly that the soup was all over the bottom of the bag. The Soy sauce, fortune cookie bag was soaked & missing seeds. I don’t keep soy sauce at home & there was 1 small packet for the 4 of us.
This is all pretty regrettable as we have been coming to your establishment since you first opened in Fairwood 45 years ago. We have noticed that the quality has decompensated over the last year. Not to mention the care in which your food is prepared.
Unfortunately a restaurant is only as good as the last meal prepared. We have now given the establishment 3 more try’s. It has not improved. There are other Chinese establishments competing for our food dollar
Not to mention the side dishes have nearly doubled in price. We will not...
Read moreThe food is slightly different than what you would find in many Chinese restaurants. I find that to be a good thing as this place stands out from most others for that reason. And, the food was good. Nothing special. And not bad. Just... good. Most of what I ordered, if not everything, seemed to be made in house, not something that came out of a freezer. Between the quality and quantity of food you get, it is worth the money. I was even given all the extra little goodies: soy sauce, hot mustard, sesame seeds, etc. Many places are hit and miss with some of those things. As important as good food is, the little things matter too. And the customer service is excellent. I have yet to find anything that compares to my favorite Chinese restaurant when it comes to the food, but this place made my list because they seem to really care about their customers' satisfaction.
Oh, and as for the review that mentioned Safeway Chinese food..... ha... haha. There is a BIG difference between the two places. In fact, I almost got some from Safeway the other day and then, as soon as I walked up to the hot case, I immediately realized why I had not eaten their Chinese food in years. Just...
Read moreJust bought and tried their suggested dinner Jade $14.75 per person take out. I was so looking forward to eating my orders and I end up disappointed. This includes BBQ Pork which looks like boiled pork, doesn't take like BBQ at all! With Pork Chow Mein, I made a mistake of choosing the hard noodles instead of soft. I thought it's the soft noodles that's been fried, lots of bean sprout and celery, not so much of pork. Boneless Almond chicken. I had to assemble this dish because the chicken is battered and they put crushed peanut instead of almond, the yellowish gravy taste bland. Not sure if its for the chicken! Pork fried rice was not fresh one more day and it will be off. If I get sick because of eating this rice I will blame it on the rice! The Pea Pod Chow Yuk with Beef was not bad and so is the Sweet and Sour Pork. Dish start from $9.00-$14.50. For this amount compare to the other places, I think I will go the other places. This restaurant is over rated. I will not try it anymore. Sorry, but I was really disppointed...
