REGARDING THE Teine Teine REVIEW BELOW
I wish there was a way to attach this review to someone else's, but I could not figure out how. I wanted to reply to Teine Teine's review dated 11-08-2021 (I believe) and believe it is relevant since I was "...the other guy she was talking to..."! To clear things up, "...the lady in the front counter...", let's just call her Bob for simplicity, is one of the main reasons I keep coming back, about twice a week. Bob is very friendly and engaging and has a sense of humor that maybe Teine Teine just doesn't appreciate. If Teine Teine had been a part of the conversation instead of eavesdropping, he might have heard correctly that what Bob said as a joke was that fingers could be used as well as plasticware. How do I know this was a joke...because both Bob AND THE CUSTOMER laughed genuinely about this! Additionally, Bob told me that the Customer asking for plasticware was a regular Customer who frequents the restaurant, and that HE WOULD BE COMING BACK. Bob never said anything about not wanting or caring if he came back, just that he comes back. As for their portion sizes, I have mentioned to several of my Friends that their portions leave nothing to be desired, other than more self-restraint on my part after I fail to leave any for the next day! :-)
Regarding my review, I will start by saying that I enjoyed the restaurant with the previous Owners. I can absolutely say that the current Owner(s)/Staff (including Bob!) are much better in the Customer Service department. The people at this restaurant are one of the main reasons I keep coming back. The quality of the food is also very good! I look forward to each opportunity I have to pick up dinner here! As for cost, well that is an individual thing, but I feel that the quality of the Staff and the food are well worth the price! I look forward to many more visits and meals from...
Read moreI don't like to write negative reviews, especially during these challenging times. However, I think this one needs to be written. I was on my way to meet friends and thought teriyaki would be an easy take-out meal since we were all bringing our own food. Ordered spicy chicken teriyaki with salad only (no rice). When I picked it up, I couldn't believe how light the box was and that there was only one container. They had put the chicken directly on top of the salad! Granted, the salad was more of a cole slaw without dressing than 'salad', but still I didn't really want warm salad. So, that's the first strike against them. Second strike - the 'teriyaki sauce' was very thin and watery and completely saturated the 'salad'. The taste wasn't great either - probably the worst teriyaki I've ever had. Third, portion size was extremely small compared to almost any other teriyaki place I've ordered from. Usually I get at least 2 meals out of an order, but this one was barely one order. I would not recommend this...
Read moreMeg & I got 2 regular Chicken Teriyaki's for lunch. The woman who helped us was friendly & polite. The service was fast & the food was good.
The rice was well made with a clean taste & nice sticky texture that held it together without being too glue like, giving it good mouth feel.
The chicken was cooked well, but missing the kind of high heat char broil that we appreciate on more "savory" versions. The sauce was on the sweeter side, better for lunch as it contains sugars.
The salad was the best I have ever tasted at a teriyaki place, with a clean clear ginger tangy element that was a real treat to enjoy!
I would have normally deducted 1 star for no organic options, but the woman who helped us was so kind & polite that a 4 star score for food quality gets a 5 star in this case.
In terms of hygienic food handling practices based in government inspections: The King County Health Code Declaration...
