I recently decided to revisit this IHOP, drawn in by their advertisements for an all-you-can-eat pancake special and a kids-eat-free promotion. After a pleasant experience at an IHOP in Vegas, I was excited to enjoy a similar experience at my local IHOP branch. Unfortunately, my latest visit turned out to be a nightmare that left a sour taste in my mouth. I had seen the advertisement and even verified the details on the IHOP website. Imagine my dismay when ordering , I was informed that the all-you-can-eat pancake special was no longer being offered. To add insult to injury, there was an actual sign inside the restaurant still promoting the special. When I pointed this out to the server, she dismissively acknowledged the sign and casually mentioned that they should probably take it down. This blatant false advertising left me feeling deceived and cheated. As if that wasn't enough, I was even more shocked when I attempted to take advantage of the "kids eat for free" promotion that I had also seen on the IHOP website. According to their website, this promotion was supposed to be available every day after 4 pm with the purchase of an entree. However, when I inquired about this offer, I was met with confused stares from the staff. They had no knowledge of such a promotion and informed me that there was no such thing available at their location. It's baffling how a well-known chain like IHOP could fail to communicate their own promotions to their staff and mislead customers in this manner. The entire experience was nothing short of a disappointment. The false advertising left me regretting my decision to dine at this IHOP location. It's disheartening to see a once-favorite restaurant chain tarnish its reputation with such unethical practices and poor customer service. I strongly advise anyone considering a visit to this specific IHOP location to exercise caution. Based on my experience, it's evident that the customer's satisfaction is not a priority, and misleading promotions seem to be the norm. I hope that IHOP takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements to restore their credibility and customer satisfaction at this location. Until then, I'll be avoiding this IHOP branch and suggesting others do the same.

This is for the Renton location on Rainier Ave #0665. Park is good. There is a divider on the main street, so you will need to loop around depending on which direction you are coming from. No street parking but plenty in the private parking lot. I have not been to an IHOP for over 25-years and boy, I have been missing out! I can only speak for this location but this is a very nice sit-down restaurant. They started with coffee and left the pot. The coffee was hot and earthy. It certainly was a reflection of what was to come. The country fried steak and eggs with pancakes came in perfect. Not oily or heavy, the pancakes were fluffy and could challenge any diner I have ever had. The country fried steak was solid. It was not sloppy, and it passed the fork test, where I did not have to pick up a knife to cut the meat. The eggs came in medium as asked. And the food came out quickly, although I was only customer number 6 for the day on a Starbucks morning. The location was VERY clean. Nothing on the floor and the tables were clean with a pot of coffee methodically placed at every table. They had nice throwback pop music in the background, nothing intrusive, and made the place very familiar and family-friendly. It had good diversity and reflected the kinder side of this area in downtown Renton. Service was professional. All of the waitresses had on clean, well-kept professional uniforms. My waitress was efficient and followed up in the right moments to fill my coffee and to check on me with the bill. I was not rushed, and the service was worth the tip given. Midas 5-stars for the clean environment. And trifecta of service, food, atmosphere.

IHOP is one of those eating establishments I take for granted. The food is quick, it will fill you up, but don't expect too much. But this past weekend I had a totally unexpected experience at their Renton location on Rainier Avenue - a hamburger that was one of the best I ever ate. I always only order the Jalapeno Kick burger, which is always satisfying the way anything is when you add grilled onions and pickled jalapenos. But this one was exceptional. First, it was obvious that the hamburger patty was made with fresh ground beef, not one of those pre-pressed, perfectly round, frozen blobs that's usually between two buns. The burger was stacked high with bacon, cheese and condiments and the bun glistened with melted butter. But, it was the first bite that made the difference. Juices from the meat and tomatoes exploded in my mouth and the grilled vegetables brought up the rear. The seasoning was perfect (I didn't have to add salt and pepper), and everything was hot. Please excuse the posted pictures. I was half way through my meal when I decided this meal was worthy of praise. Sorry about the piece of missing meat on the back side of the burger, I was trying to even it up with the bun! I need to also give a shout out to the staff and manager, who walked to every table to see if we had what we needed or whether we needed more of anything. Well done, Renton IHop. Well done.

I just had a very strange experience at this IHOP. I went to the IHOP to study and have a meal, which meant that I was going to be there for several hours. When I first arrived I noticed everyone in the restaurant, managers and patrons alike were all wearing winter coats while they worked/ate. it was noticeably cold in the restaurant. The outside temperature was about 22 degrees, it wasn't as cold as that inside the restaurant but it was still really cold. But it is the only place I can study and have a meal and have an endless supply of soda, coffee and water. When I got my food I noticed that it went cold within minutes of getting it because it was so cold in this IHOP. I brushed it off, ate it and kept studying. Around a few hours later my server (who was awesome btw) went home because his shift was over and he turned my ticket over to another server (who made some very questionable choices, but more on that later). I also noticed that the restaurant was getting colder. So a few more hours go by and I finally finished my studying, by this time I'd already put on my own coat, before I paid my tab I went to the bathroom which was even colder then the restaurant. In the bathroom I found that they didn't have running water. . . the sink had no water and the restaurant left out a huge jug of hand sanitizer for patrons to clean their hands with. Which is gross in food service. So I asked to speak with the manager, the server panicked and asked if he had done something, I told him no and then he went and got the manager. An elderly women appeared before me wearing a winter coat with it's own heating system. I asked her if she noticed anything about the patrons in the store, she asked what I meant and then I pointed out that literally everyone in the store is wearing their winter coats, hats and in some cases scarves and gloves. I also pointed out that the thermostat I was sitting next to said that the temperature in the restaurant read 46 degrees. Then I mentioned that there was no running water in the bathroom sinks. She got defensive and said that the pipes had frozen and there wasn't anything she could do about the water and that she didn't think the temperature was a big deal. She offered me a discount, which I declined but they still went through with it anyway and I guess she considered the matter closed. Then the server started making fun of me, asking why I was complaining if I had a coat, he mentioned how he thought it wasn't manly to complain about the temperature and took some other jabs at me. Then he zero'd out the tip section on the ticket and gave it to me and told me I shouldn't worry about it. It was a very strange experience, certainly the most unique I've had in a diner. 2/10, If you like cold food, cold bathrooms and evidence that no one is washing their hands because they can't boy do I have an...

First off this place is small entering the seating setup was terrible for waiting to be seated, there were people standing outside because the waiting really wasn't one, there were two hosts and both were confused and overwhelmed, I decided to step outside to walk around a bit because I was here on vacation the area around this business looked busy. Don't stand anywhere parking even the customers are rude, I was unaware looking around and this customer was backing his car up to get me to move, no horn, no roll the window down..nothing just hit me with the car. By this time we had been waiting for about 20 minutes, went back into the cramped seating place area (still confused on what to call it) had to wait 20 more minutes then we seated in another cramped seating booth that was very small, our waitress was overwhelmed which made it uncomfortable we were seated in the backside of the restaurant viewing somebody's backyard that wasn't very appealing to be eating, 🤢 we had to ask for water, which we noticed that the same waitress offered the table next to us right after we asked for ours that we were wanting for 10minutes before, the food also took a long time and the portions were overly huge, after all the uncomfortable, long waiting, cramped seating, terrible serve in all matters of serving people the food was really a waste because weren't hungry to eat anymore. I'm giving one star because they did wash the table in front of us before we sat down, which we had to wait for too. This was IHOP was very pricey for the horrible serve, and non seasoned and oversized portions of food 🤢. Don't go there, it's a waste of time and money!!!!! Going here was a major unsatisfying, unpleasant, and even a bit disrespected feeling apart from my vacation...
