Sanchita Williams is the worst professor I have ever come across. I always overhear my daughter’s professors because she is mostly online on zoom. I was shocked to hear the things “Dr. S” would say over the course of her class. Constantly belittling them over minuscule things. I have never heard of a teacher speak this way towards students. Here are some examples of what I heard her say,
Sanchita Williams “I understand one of you is confused about the due time for assignments. Yes the assignments on blackboard say it is due 11:59 Arizona time but I expect that you turn your assignments in by 9Pm. You need to be early no matter what especially since you will be in your career soon. It’s highly stupid to think that it’s okay to ask this kind of question of due time when the other students in your class are not confused. Don’t ask any more stupid questions in my class.”
In the past I also hear her instill ridiculous requests. She asks them to be tuned into her class at least 10 minutes before it starts. Remember this is an online course. If you want to start it at that time maybe change it? It seems she as a hard time of managing her time.
first of all, you are a teacher. You should welcome questions. You are a teacher, TEACH. second of all, if you want them to turn their assignments in “early” then change your due time. Do not belittle these students because they turned it in on the time you specified. Make that make sense? third of all, learn how to speak to these students respectfully. My own daughter goes to school during the day and works at night. She does not need to constantly hear that she’s lazy or incompetent because she turns assignment in at the exact time it’s listed. fourth of all, this school needs to have a rating system for their teachers. Because it will better the students education overall. Students need to have a way to speak about how they are being taught. If they rate their professor a low grade at the end of the semester, that teacher needs to have some kind of conference with their boss about how they can do better. Another suggestion for this school is students need to have the option of being able to choose their professor.
My last suggestion is Sanchita Williams needs constant supervision from whoever her higher up is so they know she’s teaching her students properly. She lacks compassion and professionalism that a teacher needs to make these students successful...
Read moreLOVE the DENTAL ASSISTING PROGRAM! Mr. O is an awesome teacher and keeps things casual and fun! You can literally be yourself around him and he teaches you what you need to know. Anything you need to ask him, he'll help you! He's more like a friend AND teacher in one. For those who speak negatively about his class, I've seen why... and it's honestly NOT him as the teacher. For those who give this program a negative review, it's because they didn't apply themselves enough. I've seen fellow students in my class up and leave because they like to blame it on the teacher. "He's not helping me! He's ignoring me. He forgot!" All I can say is that he's got a lot on his plate. He's working with several different sequences at once, trying to balance out a MULTITUDE of assignments, TESTS, all the while helping students in the lab and in the classroom. He's not perfect, no one is. You just have to be on top of your own responsibilities, and not be afraid to NAG him. In reality, the problem is really the individual. He's not a teacher that will just baby his students. You have to really take initiative in this class and ASK when you need help. If you don't apply yourself, you won't succeed. There's a lot of assignments, and we do them independently. The reason we do them ourselves rather than get babied through everything is because it's OUR duty to read, learn and process information. He will correct the answers through a scan tron, hand them back out to you, and it is YOUR responsibility to correct your errors, find out why they were wrong and study them. He will NOT go over each and every assignment, but if you personally have a question as to why something was wrong, he will give you the answer or help you find them. He helps during lab and really teaches you to the point where you will get it. He'll make you "re-do" something as many times as he see's fit until he is convinced you've understood. The materials are all given to you, it's up to you to make sure it sticks to you. He's a guide and a teacher, not a babysitter. I'm one of his students that was able to apply myself to the fullest and get STRAIGHT A's. So for those who speak with anger about this program or teacher, it's no one else's responsibility but yours as to why you didn't do so well. I highly recommend...
Read moreMy academic experience with PIMA was nothing but amazing regarding my instructors/course work. Molly Flynn & Shawnacee Frazier were two of the best instructors & individuals I could have asked for. They both fostered such a loving and encouraging atmosphere to help all of their students explore & expand their knowledge in dental assisting.
The reason I am leaving a one star review is due to how poorly administration takes care of their students, they protects the aggressors. When you spend a significant amount of money to get an education you expect to be kept safe & protected in that institute, the bare minimum. That is not how my experience was at PIMA’s renton campus. While i was on my externship there was a previous classmate in my class who created rumors about me saying some pretty nasty stuff. I was disgusted by it but there is not much you can do regarding rumors. The rumors eventually turned into harassment. That student created multiple fake phone numbers to get ahold of me after continuously telling him to stop & blocking the previous numbers. Those messages continued for about a month & inevitably turned sexual. When I brought these screenshots to administration concerned as to why they would keep a man like that enrolled in their school, which is primarily woman dominated they didn’t have much of an answer for me. They said they couldn’t do anything about it because there was “no proof” that is who was texting me. I was also encouraged to contact local authorities by the administration because that was the only protection i could get from this student. I later learned that there are MULTIPLE women who were a victim to this disgusting man, who all brought it to administration & yet again nothing was done. The student was still enrolled. Due to my experience with that I cannot recommend anyone attend this school for the sole fact that they protect the wrong people in very real, scary situations. Heaven forbid another situation like this arises in the future but if it does i hope the administration can handle it better in the victim’s favor, rather than just caring about making a...
