I had the buffet here years ago and have shopped their store side of tbe business many times. Was in the mood for some chaat so came in for lunch. I love papdi chaat and when seeing on the menu, I like to see their version. The serving size was nice and there was a variety of crunchy elements, potato and yogurt. I always love to have more tamarind chutney in the dish, which this had less than I hoped, but more than some other places. That is just me. Would have also liked to see more potato and red onion, but again, this is my quest for perfection. My other favorite is panni puri (or golgappa at some places). First test, is the water. They have a nicely seasoned water to spoon in the puri The mix of things to put in the puri - was nice but would have liked to maybe see more potato and lentils and red onion as it was very garbonzo forward. But it was still good. The letdown - the puri. They were very stale and tough to make a hole to place the fillings. I broke 3 trying to do so. They tasted stale and a couple were extremely crunchy, which is not trait of puris. As that is a big part of the dish, this made the dish a big disappointment.
It wasnt very busy and it took about 15 minutes after being seated before my order was taken. Food did come out timely.
I will try to return to take a second try at the puri and try some other items. As a note - they have some very good sweets on the grocery side and several other items and spices that I've...
Read moreExcellent vegetarian Indian kosher buffet at a reasonable price! My husband and I have made this our weekly favorite Restaurant in town. The flavors are exotic and masterfully executed. Their dishes are consistently good. We go every Friday for their Kosher Vegetarian Buffet and enjoy the experience just as much.
They've been around for a long time, you can see the awards and positive critics around the place. You can tell by the atmosphere the pride in their culture. They even play Indian Movies on their big screen TV.
They also have a small Grocery Store attached to the restaurant, it's hard to choose what to buy because it all looks and tastes good and it's not food that you find everywhere. Their candies, custards and pastries are delicious. They sell the dishes that they prepare for the restaurant frozen so you can take them home and the ingredients they use if you want to try to make them yourself.
There isn't one dish I've eaten there that I don't eat again and again every time we go. It's like a symphony orchestra of flavors in your mouth with every bite you take. I can't say enough about this place. You gotta try it to...
Read moreWe went to Pabla on 17th Feb. Multiple reasons for our poor ratings - 1. The menu had limited number of items for a buffet 2. The Food serving area was located around an aisle making it inconvenient/ congested even if 4-5 people are out to take food 3. Some food Items were getting over quickly but it took time for them to replenish empty vessels 4. They charge per plate if you wish to take some food out. No relaxation even for small kids, surprisingly 5. The hosts were rude and charged half plate for kids below 6 years, and full plate for anyone over 6 years which was quite different from what others charge. When we requested them to waive it off for little kids (
