One of us learned about Mexican food in Texas and the other in Southern California. Both of us like this place (for Mexican food) better than any other we've been in since we moved here 30 years ago. I speak Spanish, almost every day, but I was not surprised that the staff ignored my Spanish and used their English on my first two visits. Now, they recognize me, and initiate dialog in Spanish. I/we really like their red sauce, their green sauce, the 7 different tacos we have tried, the mulitas, the chicken flautas, dry burritos, the friendly staff. They have Negra Modelo and other beers, as well as horchata, &c. I myself would prefer the absence of televisions. Usually we are almost but not quite the only non-Mexicans. They are open long hours. Don't worry if you don't speak Spanish. The staff speak excellent English. So far, we have felt lucky every time we ate there.
I have read the bad reviews. If you claim you got sick from eating at a restaurant, furnishing details such as time of your visit and time of onset of symptoms is helpful to those with public health training in assessing...
Read moreTheir tacos are fantastic. I live in Redmond and drive all the way to Renton for their food specifically and have told/ brought several other friends to come here (not that the taco places in Bellevue aren't good, but they aren't Taco Maestro). The drive can be over 20 minutes in traffic for me, but it's so worth it. I honestly haven't tried much of their other food options, but I've seen other guests order their other options all the time and my friends have and said they were really good. They have almost all authentic Mexican foods you can think of - tacos, burritos, tamales, pozole, menudo, birria, sopes, etc. They have all kinds of Mexican and American drinks, they make their own horchata which I love - perfect amount of cinnamon, sweetness, and creaminess. Fair prices, authentic delicious food. Can get fairly busy on weekends, but week nights are pretty calm (but still busy since they're a...
Read moreBeen coming here a long time, the tacos are always good. I decided to try a burrito this time and was disappointed. Barely any flavor, very little meat and like a previous review mentioned, there was more rice and lettuce than anything, not folded properly coming undone, and the burrito was missing the beans the cashier said it came with.
For tacos its a great spot, probably won't order anything else from here.
Also, sharing another customers experience, the customer before me was upset, they ordered chicken nuggets and wanted to order extra frys. They mentioned how its a different price each time they come and its cheaper when its a different cashier. The nuggets were 5.99 and the cashier told them the total for extra fries was 5.99 the same price as the meal even though their menu states small fry are 3.50 and large fries are 4.50. That customer mentioned they weren't coming...
