Have been going to this restaurant for well over a year. Great food always, except for one time. Very nicely, we asked for items to be corrected and received attitude from our waitress. Normally, when we came to this place, the 2 waitresses we ever had were never over friendly and barely said two words to us, but we continued to go because we liked the food. This particular evening, the owner was not in the building so we wrote a note on our receipt so he could be aware of how this woman was treating her customers. A couple weeks later we went in to eat dinner and we were seated at a table. Brought water and a menu. Within a few minutes another waiter came and told us we were “86’d” from the restaurant for being problematic. He realized after talking to us that we weren’t the problem and apologized to us profusely, but we still had to leave until we could talk with the owner. He gave us Mr Lawrence’s phone number and I proceeded to phone him that evening. He was hostile at the beginning until he finally started listening to what I was saying about what happened that one time only that we ever said anything negative. Towards the end of the conversation, he said he could tell what I was saying was true and that he believed me, but felt he needed to talk to the staff first. Apparently up to 5 employees said we were a problem to deal with, which is funny because we have only dealt with the same 2 employees every time we were there. After waiting over a week for a response from him I called him again, in which he said he left me a message with his response, in which he never left a message on my phone. However he decided to believe his staff instead of us so we needed to “sever ties” with each other. It wasn’t like we were ever going to go back anyway, but it’s upsetting to be punished for something that we never did. We have no idea why the employees lied about us, other than they could have us mistaken with 2 other women that may be guilty of these things. It’s very unfair the way we were treated but we didn’t really expect...
Read moreRe: "Your neighborhood family pub". (NOT) I won't frequent this place and I will be sure to share with my Renton neighbors ( of a decade) of my terrible, terrible experience at this place. They use to be a friendly place but things have been changing.
The behavior of the owner " Jeff" was barbarous, brutish, bestial, and savage like when responding to my concern with my food. His "Bartender, Ashley did not know how to handle a food situation gone bad. And when I was not willing to wait another 30 minutes for another order, she started to raise her voice to a new level each time. And started to tower over me like a "big bird."She must have thought this was the way to conduct friendly business. This "mamming bartender" needs to learn to lower her voice and behave like a lady. Which she may never have read that handbook, it seems.
Jeff was not interested in the food situation but more in lashing out and loosing control because I no longer wanted to eat there but instead wanted a refund. It was terrible, I had to get the local police ( non - emergency ) involved just to get my money back. In all my time eating at the local places, I have never experienced such (Irrational behavior.) The meal should have been made correct the first time and with customer service. Not yelling and showing feelings of inferiority against a concerned customer.
This place will close down soon enough with this type of treatment of customers. Surely. Luckily, we have Melrose place, The Red House, Berliner Pub, and other yummy places with friendly service.
Simply if they had offered to adjust the bill for the large inconvenience, it would have worked but her comment was " As a courtesy, I will make you another burger." Excuse me...how is that a courtesy to waste my time while your cooks try to get the order right again. They sent me home with this bad order, it was I that caught it and for $24.00 I expect to get the correct order. Next time I will just go to Dukes or Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. They know about...
Read moreFirst let me say that the staff and service we received here was top notch. We did not have bad service at all, and the waitress was both friendly and was great. However we had a first time experience here that I dont think we will ever return.
This place was recommenced by my spouses coworker as having one of the best breakfasts in the area, so we came in with that expectation. The place seemed like it would be great for live music, with a large projector screen that can drop down at one of the far ends of the building, and the tables are huge, able to take large parties easily.
When we were seated there were dust bunnies on the table, (the hostess actually set our menus down on bunnies in separate areas of the table. Not a great sign. I ordered an egg bene, and the spouse ordered a chicken fried steak. We both had coffee.
The eggs Benedict was surprising in that the hollandase sauce had no flavor, while there was nothing WRONG with the order, it just had no flavor. The spouses CFS on the other hand, appeared to be fried at too high a temperature, he described the steak as rubbery, and the steak had actually started to curl and did not sit flat on the plate, it was wavy.
Before I get into the other problem, I will say that the Coffee was very fresh and on point, it was great diner coffee (score another one for the front of the house staff!)
The big problem however came when he started eating the hashbrowns and eggs. I saw him take a bite, and then began spitting out black flakes of something. He pointed out that they were metal. It seems that whatever skillet they prepared part of his meal in had started coming apart and flaked bits of metal into his food. Needless to say, after this he was done.
We did bring this to the waitress who comped his entire meal, but if their cooking equipment is flaking metal, it tells me that their kitchen staff is not putting in required maintenance.
We wont be back here, but again, I want to stress its not due to the front of the...
