Horrible experience. Highly recommend you never go near Peachtree Cafe in Matteson, Illinois on Lincoln Highway.
My Husband ordered breakfast and I ordered an Open face hot turkey with mash potatoes and gravy, vegetables and a cup of soup included with meal.
She served the small portion of a cup of soup. I ate the soup, drank a cup of coffee.
She brought out my entree. It was ice cold. How do you get served a hot, fresh dish cold. I told her she returned the dish to the kitchen.
She brought me back my same plate with my seasoning still showing. They just threw it in the microwave. Unbelievable! What happened to fresh?
I tasted the food, the gravy had broke, the turkey tasted tainted. I told the waitress yet again. She said I'll take it back. I said "No thanks" my appetite is gone. She said OK, walked away, started waiting on other customers.
My Husband and I both being fed up and ready to leave proceeded to cashier to pay for his order.
We got to the register, the waitress comes running up and writes out Bill. She said $23.00. We said for the breakfast? She said coffee and soup and my husband ordered cheese on his eggs. What, are you kidding us? $23 for breakfast, okay we see how they roll at Peachtree Cafe in Matteson, Illinois.
Based on me and my husband's experience there: No clear price transparency; No consideration for customers; Money driven vs Service Driven; Food not fresh, poor quality ingredients and we don't care about you attitude; you leave we'll get another sucker..
I believe the latter bothered me the most. The "Attitude", we don't care! This leads to further question: quality, sanitation practices, what are they actually serving the Public since they apparently don't care.
Do nor go near this place.
I say: State Inspection, BBB, Consumer Affairs,...
Read morePeachtree Cafe is open from 6 am to 3 pm, so naturally they specialize in breakfast. And, naturally they are great at it! They also serve a lunch menu, but my eyes were drawn to the Sunrise Eggs Benedict, so I didn't look much at the lunch offerings. However, if they are anywhere near as the perfection that my breakfast was, order lunch options without hesitation.
There were 3 versions of eggs Benedict: the traditional, but I wasn't in the mood for ham; then mine, which had sliced turkey, tomato, and avocado; the third, sorry, you'll have to explore the menu, I read it and promptly forgot it in favor of the fresh avocado. It came with my choice of potatoes or grits.
The hash browns were again, heavenly, golden crispy on the outside and soft as mashed potatoes on the inside. My coffee was refilled as soon as it looked like I needed a 'top-off.' My companions' cokes were refilled as soon as they looked low. The cinnamon apples atop the French Toast was "better than you can find at any County Fair!" The pancakes were light and fluffy and as big as a luncheon plate.
The waitress was cheery, prompt, and offered good suggestions. The food was piping hot and prompt. Everywhere was clean and well-maintained.
Even the personal facilities (I can only speak for the ladies' room) was sparkling clean and lightly fresh-scented. (Ok, out of the paper seat covers, so not perfectly stocked but still admirable.)
My only personal pet peeve is when someone is vacuuming while customers are still trying to enjoy their meal, which occurred toward the end of our meal, but stopped before I could ask them to do so. (The only hazard of dining close to closing time.) Not enough to lose a star, but something for management everywhere to...
Read moreGreat Food! Horrible customer service! So today 9/23/2018 I went into the restaurant around 6:35am I order their red velvet French toast. So as I sat down I realize that I might of order the wrong thing, so I got up and told the man who took my order could I get the red velvet stuffed French toast, he said okay no problem. Okay great Iâm thinking, so I get my food and leave out, lucky I didnât drive off yet I check my food and realize it wasnât what I order, so I went in and told him that I order red velvet. He tells me that I wanted stuffed red velvet and that they donât make stuffed red velvet, now Iâm confuse because Iâm thinking well my boyfriend orders it all the time, he goes to say we just have regular red velvet, Iâm like oh okay not thinking it was a difference I ask him nicely could I get that. So instead of providing great service he says to me â well what am I going to do with thisâ so now Iâm getting annoyed, because I told him well you shouldâve of corrected me when I got up the second time telling you what I wanted the red velvet stuffed French toast instead of saying okay no problem, but no you just gave me regular French toast. What made me upset is that the fact if you knew you didnât have the stuffed red velvet then thatâs when you shouldâve said â sorry miss we donât have stuffed red velvet we only have regular red velvet French toast, would you still like that?â Then I wouldâve been more then happy! But no I get told thereâs nothing you could do about it! That really piss me off and I would never spend my money here again! I could never do that to someone whoâs giving me there money! I never In my life experience horrible customer service sorry to say this had to be...
