
Very unprofessional! I'm sure the one rule that all libraries have in common is to be quiet, however this is not the case here. People are consistently on their phones and having loud conversations. In addition, most establishments have the cleaning lady come during hours that the building is closed. Not here. The cleaning lady was vacuuming in the middle of the day for an hour and a half and when I addressed it to the people up front they told me that she has a job to do. Common sense would tell them that there shouldn't be a loud vacuum in the middle of a LIBRARY. I entered the Matteson Library on a Thursday morning, hoping to grab a table to get some work done only to find that where tables once existed there is instead a computer lab. There were only 3 tables available for use by residents who desired to work quietly. And quiet was nonexistent! There children with an adult near the restroom not even attempting to speak in library voices and laughter from the employees at the circulation desk. I never sat my belongings down. I came to him asking for information and he asked me if he could be of service. I explained to him I really needed to print an important document that was only one page and less than a half. He happily stated he can help me with that. He gave me the help desk email and was able to print it off for me. His customer service was superb and he went above and beyond. Thank you...
