First of all I wanted to let you all know that this was the first time me and my wife come to a chilosos and we are so mad that we haven’t discovered this place years earlier! It was an AMAZING experience from the moment we came in to the moment we left we got greeted by the ENTIRE staff and efrein and Maria yvonne greeted us with smiles and sat us at the bar since it was our off day we celebrated! Efrein came and gave us multiple salsas and Maria yvonne gave us amazing recommendations like the rasberry drink! My new favorite! And the pricing on everything was affordable and great with the experience we had im so happy that me and my wife found a new spot for us to enjoy a few drinks and food that you all serve! We definitely will be coming back and make this a consistent thing to always come back to this particular location! Thank you staff for making us feel welcome and cook our food with love! We will definitely see you soon!

There were quite a few folks at Chilosos on a Thursday evening when I went for the first time. As usual, I am late to the party but better late than never. I have read other reviews about Chilosos being like Chipotle and I don't see the similarities. Granted, the food is laid out cafeteria-style but that's where the comparison ends. Chilosos is much fresher and has a wider selection of entrées than the other guys. Plus, here you get complimentary chips and salsa. I had the Chicken Avocado bowl, which is basically a quesadilla with a hearty heap of grilled chicken on top. You can customize your meal with a variety of toppings, and they have several salsa options. Charro beans and rice are included. I got so full, which is another way Chilosos differs from the other guys. With so many options and even a full breakfast menu, I will be returning to Chilosos-Richardson. ¡Mucho sabor!

To the millions that have viewed my assessments/reviews, you know I'm spot-on. I keep it as brief as possible. If you'd like to eat here, it's ok. Not bad, not good, but right in the middle. The staff was nice.🤠👍 Food was ok, kinda like a Mexican fast food. Definitely better than Taco Bell, but the joint did remind me of being in a Chipotle. I really wasn't looking for the Chipotle-vibe. The location was in a semi-busted shopping plaza. You could sit outside and stare and the parking lot and traffic if you'd like. * Ondrayz Pro Tip 5532: always look at Google Street View to note surroundings prior to going anywhere If you need a quick lunch, sure, then get back to work. I don't intend to revisit this spot.

Long message ahead and hopefully Joe & David will see this and make changes to this location:

To begin, my family and I have been going to chilosos since they first opened in Rockwall all those years ago. The quality and taste of the products coming from Chilosos years ago was light years ahead of what is coming out of the Richardson kitchens.

Having been to every Chilosos location several times now and at varying hours of the day I can honestly say that the Richardson location is the bottom of the barrel in many ways.

First: Service.

Quite a few of the servers at the counter are rude or simply do not communicate with the customers. The turnover rate of employees at the Richardson location means that new workers are abundant but aren't learning the right ways to serve and prepare the food. Management at this location is poor and training might be nonexistent.

Second: Quality of Food/ Consistency

The quality of of the products here at the Richardson location can only be described as poor. Every other location of chilosos gets it right everytime I have attended.

The chips are overcooked, not drained enough of their oil, stale or just plain gross sometimes. This doesn't even hold a candle to the quality of the Southlake location or the home base in Rockwall.

The tortillas are left to burn on the hot top which is only meant to brown them slightly. The chicken lacks in flavor and is often overcooked. The steak is tough and overcooked. The queso usually has been sitting for long periods of time and left to become a block of thick cheese.

There is no attention to detail at this location. The drink machine is often broken, lacking syrup or all together not working. The tea during peak hours is often never brewed on time for customers. Hell even during non-peak hours all of these problems are still around.

The food bins are nearly empty when you order items and you are waiting for the food to be filled back up for awhile.

Third: Cleanliness. This is by far the dirtiest run Chiloso location out of all of the other locations. Food left on the ground, tables left unclean for over an hour while we sat and ate on multiple occasions.

Peering over the counter you see food strewn from all the containers into other containers. Chicken in the steak bin, vegetables strewn into other bins.

Fourth: Interior Experience

Joe.. David... Put some investment into this location. This is a dated interior and you're thinking about opening more locations before fixing what's wrong here. Southlake is beautiful and so is Rockwall but Richardson is gross, the chairs are falling apart and booths are torn and it's dirty.

Train the staff and remodel the store to match other locations.

Conclusions:

Food quality is poor

Service and employees need some serious retraining or better compensation. My only thought is that these people aren't getting paid enough to care about the quality of food. Retrain and take pride in the food because it's a shadow of it's former Rockwall home base.

The store is dirty and it shows. Clean the floors every once and awhile. Wipe down the tables.

Overhaul the interior already... It's time.

Solution for improvement:

Joe and David, I sent you a detailed email several months back with suggestions on how to improve this location. That email was ignored and so I post here, publicly.

Hire a dedicated runner. This person's only job is to clean, stock drink machines, attend to customers needs in the lobby.

Chick fil a implemented this in all locations awhile back and it's amazing. They are dedicated and consistent with every customer.

I truly enjoy Chilosos when the location is running in tip top shape but 9/10 the Richardson location runs like a sinking ship.

I take my business clients and friends to other locations but when I live closest to this location it's my only option now. This review was written out of a desire to improve the quality and consistentcy here.

I hope to continue to revisit this location and rewrite a better...

Have eaten here several times before. For the past several weeks we've had a study group that meets here on Wednesday nights. Food has been good and the service has been friendly and helpful. That is...up until this past Wednesday evening. We were there doing our usual study group when we noticed this guy go over and turn off the Open sign a full 30 minutes before actual closing time. Normally they will turn that off when they close up. None of us had ever seen this guy before. He proceeded to begin turning off the TV's in the restaurant and he kept approaching our table doing some things around our table as if to let us know without telling us that he wanted us to leave. We were the only ones there. He was very unfriendly and impolite and just plain rude. After a few minutes of his interruptions we decided to just leave. We gathered our stuff and went out the door which he promptly shut and locked. Never a smile on his face, just a cold hard stare. It was still not closing time. We were standing around saying our goodbyes when this same guy came out the door and looked me square in the face staring at me the whole way to his car. I wondered what his problem was. Our group has always been quiet and considerate of other diners in the restaurant. We are always careful to make sure we leave things as we found them. We don't like to make extra work for the staff since they are always so friendly to us (except for this guy). We don't know who he was. Maybe he was a new manager or something. We all agreed that his attitude was a total turn off. If there was a problem in the restaurant and he needed to shut down early. All he had to do was walk over with a smile and say something like , "I'm sorry we've had something happen that requires us to close up early, so unfortunately I have to ask you to leave." We would have been very happy to comply. But as it is the impression we are left with was the guy just wanted us out so he could close early and go home. He didn't look or act like he wanted to be there. Our group has discussed this and we've decided to move our study group elsewhere. So tonight we are going to try meeting at Cafe Brazil. It is a shame but one guy's lousy attitude has cost this Chiloso's location what would have given them consistent business each Wednesday evening. But hey, if he thinks getting home early is more important than the customers then so be it. We take our business elsewhere...

I read the reviews and I was excited because I’m in the area getting dental work done and it sounded a lot like a Chipotle restaurant but that’s where the commonality ends! It’s thoroughly a different atmosphere, it’s really quite nice no hardwood seats and stuff like that. They’re padded whether you sit at the bar area or this bar type set up area out in the middle or any of the chairs with tables everything is padded and everybody here is very friendly and when I walked in the food smells so good but then that’s always a good indicator isn’t it!? What I ordered was a vegetarian bowl and a glass of iced tea and I have photographs, but there are so many different variables, much more than what you’ll be used to as far as what you can put on your burrito, taco or a bowl and it’s all good tasting all of it, and there is more than any other restaurant like this to include the one I mentioned and I give them a five star day on all points. It’s got a very good atmosphere. It has very good service and very good tasting food with a lot of selections and I watched a girl cleaning up the front area and when I walked in that’s the first thing I noticed was how clean everything is and it just looks very nice and very welcoming to come in here! I’m glad I stopped by because there are so many vegetarian options as well as your meat options, of course, but it was nice to have so many extra vegetables available and so many different hot sauces in the like everything was more than what I’m used to. It’s very clean and very fresh tasting everything’s made here and I think they do a wonderful job and I think that you would be a mess to not come and try this restaurant! Even if you have to drive a bit of a distance, you will really enjoy it, it’s very very good! I have photographs and I’m hoping that I can add them while I’m making this review because sometimes you can, and sometimes you cannot, but I’ll find a way! You need to see this it’s very good. It even has outdoor patio furniture underneath an overhang and with umbrellas and I am impressed with how...
