Fusion Vibes Kitchen + Lounge — Restaurant in Richardson

THIS PLACE OVERALL SUCKS!!!!.. My daughter, cousins and I went here on Mother's day to celebrate that special occasion and my daughter's Birthday the following day. The first problem was when my cousin came in and said she was told kids weren't allowed (her 12 year old daughter was with us) so the guy waiting to seat us ( who was low key the owner) who said he was the manager said he would make an EXCEPTION, ok cool because it took us about 45 mins to get there... UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE SIR!!!!...we get to our table (if you can call it that). The setup reminds me of sitting at a kids play table playing make believe. That's how small the tables are and your sitting in regular chairs and on a couch, not comfortable or ideal at all. Now here comes the HOT MESS part, we order our food and drinks. It took over 30 minutes to get our appetizers. My daughter and I ordered the coconut shrimp and asked for some dipping sauce with it, well we never got the dipping sauce to eat with it despite us reminding our waitress multiple times. So we ate the shrimp without it because they were getting cold(she finally gave it to us when we were finished eating them)... My daughter and I both ordered the Oxtails ( don't do it, they had decent flavor, but they were very thin and small, not meaty at all and there were bone fragments in the meat) she had the one that came with the lobster Mac (A JOKE!!! It looked and tasted like Kraft Mac and Cheese and the 2 or 3 pieces of Lobster that was in it, was dry) and I had the Jolof rice (also a JOKE, it reminded me of the box of Spanish rice from Aldi, it was very dry and blah, no flavor) It was very disappointing!!! The owner was just to cheap to get the better quality of meat but his greed shows in the price that your gonna pay for them, sooo sad ☹️. My cousins 12 year old daughter ordered the French toast that she half ate because she didn't like it, so we tasted it and it was very blah as well, no flavor (in the end, her father ended up taking her to the McDonald's next door because she was still HUNGRY, SMDH!!!) Everyone at the table got their drink except my cousin, she ordered a Pomegranate Martini) again we kept asking the waitress for her drink and she kept saying she ordered it and it was coming, never came. I think our server was new and this was her first time because the poor child did not know what she was doing.... It took over an HOUR before we received our main course. We all were sooo hungry we started eating that nasty French toast... So everyone else ordered the catfish and grits, and 2 were fried and one grilled Catfish. Well, my cousin and her daughter order was right but her husband was missing his grits. They brought him greens instead and never corrected the order or brought out any grits. The server never came back to replenish our water or ask how everything was going. My daughter had to always go and chase her down. The excuse she gave was that other servers were taking drinks that didn't belong to them (NOT OUR PROBLEM!!!) Then the excuse she gave for us waiting so long to get our food was that there was a large group at another table with a large order and they were behind (AGAIN, NOT OUR PROBLEM!!!! ) The problem was the owner over booked (being greedy) and did not compensate for the large crowd on that day and they were short staffed because he was in the kitchen helping cook....We kept asking to speak to him to talk about the bill and what they were going to do because of the horrible experience, missing food and drinks and lack luster customer service. We waited over and hour and the manager/owner still did not come to speak with us. He finally came out when we were at my car putting the balloons in. He was very RUDE, DISMISSIVE, AND DISRESPECTFUL to my daughter. He wasn't trying to hear anything she had to say. Not once did he apologize for our experience. The best thing about this restaurant was the band they had playing on that day...THERE ARE SOOO MANY OTHER RESTAURANTS TO GO TO THAT HAVE BETTER FOOD AND CUSTOMER SERVICE.... STEER CLEAR OF...

Worst experience ever! I've gone two times on a Friday with my man, and both times, the service was so slow. They would forget about our drink orders, and there's hardly any room to sit. It's hard to enjoy a conversation without having to share a table with someone else that you don't know because of the tight space. My drink was "ok" at best.

Recently, we went on Halloween weekend, and we were not expecting them to charge a cover fee to enter. This was highly disappointing as we invited some friends and we had nowhere to sit yet again. However, what made it a more awful experience is when my man was cornered by 3 people (management and security) saying that he stole 100.00 from the bar the night before. Not only were they incredibly WRONG, but they totally embarrassed him and accused him for over 10 minutes straight before another worker said, "No, that's not the guy. He is a great customer!"

Moreover, my man asked to see the camera footage, and of course, they refused! We were not even there on that Friday night, but most importantly, my man is an upstanding, one of the most kind-hearted, generous people that I know. He's spent hundreds of dollars at this place. He has never been in any trouble or accused of such things or had his character attacked like this, especially at a place of business in front of many people. There's no need to STEAL a measly 100.00 from anyone or to steal at all.

Then, what made it even worse is the water downed apology he got after they accused him for 10-15 minutes and wouldn't even offer a refund after having been there only 10 minutes before this happened. We didn't even get to enjoy or drink with our friends.

Shame shame shame on this place and management. We will NOT be back. To accuse a customer with no evidence is just pure disgusting, it's wrong, is ethically unjust, and a deformation of character!!

This is Nicole reaching back out to you all regarding the response/reply on Google to my unsatisfactory visit there on October 28th, 2023.

The response received still is untruthful as he was not at Fusion on that Friday 27th.

In fact, the last time we were there was on the night of Friday, October 6, in which we left around 1:30 am. on October 7th.

He requested to see the video footage since they said it was him, but we did not get to see it. Their approach to him was not professional, and of course, he was upset at the way they came to him and accused him. No one escorted him out because I and my friends took him outside ourselves because they refused to show the footage. When we got outside, we talked to another security guard for a while who "apologized on behalf of management " for their mistake. He even went inside to request a refund since we were not there long and they refused.

Furthermore, one of the bartenders that always serves us on the Hookside knows him very well and even vouched, saying he wasn't there on Friday. She has shorter hair.

Unless he has major superpowers to teletransport, how can he be with me and your place of establishment at the same time???

Hi there! I had an incredible evening hanging out at fusion vibes kitchen. From the moment we walked in we could tell it was going to be a fun environment.

Lighting, loud and soft at the same time creating a perfect hue of purple red and blue. Against the lounge Style seating it’s a beautifully immaculate setting for a great brunch or an evening out.

Wow, the seating is beautiful. I believe it’s an emerald green, plush seating with buttons. It wasn’t the comfiest in the world. In order to sit back your legs had to be on the couch itself. And I am 511 and some change. The shorties out there are struggling.

The staff was super kind. Very enjoyable and personable and curious on how they can make the experience better for each guest. They were also very clean.

We went on a Thursday night and they were playing football. I don’t know if there was a game on or if there is something special going on but I would have preferred a show that would entertain but do not necessarily need to watch. It was a Sunday game. This makes sense. For the evening vibe it was just a little bit off and felt too much like a man cave.

Now let’s talk about the food. My favorite was a lemon pepper wings. Hot juicy, and that seasoning was perfection. I also loved the plantain and rice. Incredible staples dishes, and they did them very very well. I am not a accustomed to Nigerian food but I have had it throughout my life and have a decent taste for the unique flavors.

The rest of the food that we had was good and I would give the oxtail a solid runner up award/recommendation.

They gave me a fusion lemon drop drink. It was very good but a little too sweet for my personal taste. That’s what a lemon drop is though. Then I had a sip of the espresso martini which I thought was perfectly balanced. I just don’t like the glass they put it in. It should go in a coupe glass not a martini glass. I had to say the same for the lemon drop as well. It should’ve gone in a martini glass not a coupe glass.

Overall, the evening was a complete success. We all danced and had a great time. They even brought out an electric hookah!

That was definitely a highlight of the evening. The biggest surprise was the owner, Will, giving us some of the spices they make for us to try and explaining the story behind them.

I want to give a one last shout out to Will the owner. Everyone could tell he was in love with this restaurant and proud of what he built. He’s excited to serve at his community and I genuinely hope we all come out to support him.
