Coco Shrimp — Restaurant in Richardson

I have eaten from this place two times. Both times, my sister received a text saying her order was ready, but it was not. When we were there on Tuesday, I ordered about five minutes AFTER her and received my order just moments after sitting down. Shortly after, she received a text saying her food was ready. It was NOT. 10 minutes later, she asked about her food. The response "We're working on it." At least five people were preparing the food. Orders were coming and going and almost 15 minutes later she was still told, "We're working on it." She only ordered two tacos and a few extra shrimp. The server blatantly said they sent the text to meet their order times!! Wow. The manager (who watched the whole situation transpire) said nothing until we asked to see a manager. He just kept saying, "We have a lot of orders." I let him know that I saw people come and go, and I received my order quickly, so that was not a good reason. He apologized. My sister asked for her money back, and they still gave her her food almost 20 minutes later. The servers were polite and the food was great, but I will likely NOT return. We got the following: First Time 1- Sampler with: Sweet and spicy + Butter Garlic + Ginger Poppyseed vinaigrette for the salad 2- Lemon Herb with: Ginger + Poppyseed vinaigrette for the salad 3- Tacos

In general, The food was great and the portion was filling. Their rice comes toped with garlic butter seasoned with some herbs and spices.. Just Perfect! And the salad on the side just makes the dish come together.

Sampler::: Personally, I‘m not into spicy nor too sour sauces. So the choice in Shrimps in the Sampler dish were great. The vinaigrette was the right kind of sour which was extremely satisfying. It was a combination of both seared shrimps and breaded shrimps. [[check out the menu for breaded and seared options]]

Coco Tacos::: They were flavorful. Thin layer of rice on the bottom topped with a sauce i couldn’t make out😹 and then the shrimps on top and greens. Amazing 🤩

Lemon Herb::: Mom says it was delicious. She’s a picky eater so this says alot. Let’s leave it at that.

The star of the show was Bri on the counter😻 She was the sweetest ever! She was so attentive and patient with all of our questions, and we had alot😹. She helped us with recommendations too. Mom had a problem with the rice due to diabetes so she was kind enough to help her out with that. Love...

The food quality is exceptional at the price point. The vibe is chill and inviting.

My only suggestion is that you add a numbering system to the ordering process so that your staff is not walking around the restaurant aimlessly attempting to auction off food because they didn't take that customers order and they don't know who ordered what. We had 2 orders that were attempted to be served to our table before we recieved our food and 1 that was attempted to be dropped off after our food was served.

I realize it is a laid back atmosphere and that when it's not that busy, this may seem acceptable. However, I can only imagine what a ClusterF... this would be if the dining room was full or lunch hour was really bumping and I watched as my food was attempted to be served to 3 or 4 tables before finally landing at my table.

The Sweet and Spicy Coco Shrimp are yummy, the Spicy Sautéed Shrimp are delicious and the sauce is delicious with the rice. I highly recommend the Mix and Match Sampler where you can pick up to 3 styles of Shrimp. We love this spot, I love the Value Proposition of the food and the Vibe. Just need to tighten up your flow and customer service model. They are a fast growing chain with a great product and I'm sure they will work out the issues I am...
