1st time in this location, NEVER EVER go here, worst service, worst staff! (First Watch 930 Campbell)
We usually go to First Watch Belt Line , fabulous service, ambiance and great staff, that's why our first go-to breakfast place will always be First Watch but not anymore because of yesterday's incident in First Watch Campbell. We ended up in the Campbell location cause it was closer at that time.
It was supposed to be a birthday breakfast for my husband. Arrived at this location (930 Campbell STE 101 Richardson), greeted by a pleasant male waiter , assigned a seat for us, I requested for a booth, which he did- great no problem.
Then , a heavy set African American waitress came by, then asked me and my husband if the two mugs on our table are clean (these 2 mugs are already there before we arrived at the table which looks like used mugs), so I said, looks like used mugs to me and told her it's not ours. Then she looked upset, whispered to another staff member(which I believed was the female manager) , she whispered about there are 2 dirty mugs on our table which should not be there. So , the manager removed the dirty mugs from our table. Then this waitress did not even ask for our orders or even offered a coffee (we're already sitting there for 6-8 mins). She paced back and forth delivering orders to other table , once she passed by our table she would say "I'll be right with you". Then she came back just to ask, "who is the staff that let you sit on this table", I pointed her to the male waiter and she left again- (no orders taken- 10 mins). After a few minutes she came back , finally asked me and my husband for the drinks, I said I want a decaf coffee and while my husband was telling her the drink that he wants, this rude waitress cut him off and bluntly ask , "So has this table been cleaned?" . And then I had ENOUGH, I told her , you know what, I don't know if this table is clean or not, I don't know your logistics, we asked for a booth and we were assigned to this table by the male waiter earlier, you had been asking us why there were 2 dirty mugs here and if the this table is clean and you have not even taken our orders , you are more concerned with the table. And she answered in an aggressive tone, telling me "I was just asking if someone cleaned this table or not ", I said no one cleaned this table. And she said still in aggressive tone, " then let's just go ahead with your order while unpleasantly pouring coffee over our mugs". And I just told her, ":don't worry about it, we're leaving:" and she just answered unapologetically, casually, "okay". I stood up quietly and I went to see the manager telling her that this waitress is more interested in the dirty mugs and if the table is clean than taking care of the customers. She asked more questions than taking our orders. Told the manager , I don't care if she has issues , or if she has some beef with the male waiter who assigned a the seat for us, I don't care about their logistics who cleans the table, but this waitress is rude and doesn't know how to deal with customers. Does not even smile, never pleasant, rude. The manager apologized and offered if I wanted a different waitress, I declined and just left the place . I also apologized to my husband for having this bad experience for his birthday breakfast. We left and had a phenomenal breakfast somewhere ,where staff are pleasant, happy and...
Read moreDo not waste your money on this place! The customer service was terrible, and the food was mediocre at best as well as being treated differently because of the color of your skin.
A friend and I debated over three different restaurant to have Sunday brunch, and First Watch was both our number one pic.
When we arrived, the place was packed as expected. We put our name down and the host asked if we reserved a table online. We said no, and was told there was a 35 minute wait. We sat down and wired patiently as table cleared and customers were seated, other than us.
The host was so busy with her iPad and couldn’t be bothered. We are getting so angry how many couple were seated in ahead of us that came before us. I guess there people reserved a table online?
When our name was finally called, we were brought up to the host area and three different hosts including what looked like a manager, didn’t know where to seat us.
Finally, we arrived to our table and waited some more. Our waiter kept suggest what we wanted to order instead of us telling him what we wanted.
“You want the scrambled eggs right?” “ “ Um no, I wanted two eggs sunny side up” I said.
This is where the food comes in. The menu was boring. I guess the theme was “farm to table” but nothing impressed is. Everything said “cage free” eggs. And I was so fed up with it that I wanted to throw the menu across the room.
My friend and I ordered and the food was terrible. My pancakes were burnt. The eggs were rubbery. I had a chicken sausage patty that I wasn’t even sure how it tasted.
You are better off eating a big breakfast platter at McDonald’s.
I do not see why this place is receiving 5 stars. We are never coming to this...
Read more5/14/22: Service and food quality have gone downhill. No obvious staffing issues, as it appeared that there were almost just as many staff as customers around 2pm. I observed several staff milling around, not even looking busy. We were seated (party of two) and over ten minutes passed without anyone acknowledging us. I asked the young lady who seated us who had our section, and the reply I received was that four tables arrived at the same time. After waiting some more, she noticed that we had not been taken care of and took our order. Our food arrived, and it was just ok. We had the chickfchanga, shrimp and grits and a side of sausage. The shrimp had a heavy smell of seafood, not sure if it was cooked properly. The grits were so so, and the chicken lacked seasoning. The coffee was good. When we started to eat, Nathan came to our table and asked if everything was ok. I asked who he was, and he said that he was our server, and that he had gotten busy. Very disappointed with this visit, and if this had been our first visit, we wouldn't have returned.
12/9/21: We drove by on Sunday, 12/5, but the line was out the door. We went back the next day, around 1pm, and it was so much better. This was our first visit here. There were two other tables with patrons. Jenny was our hostess, and she was awesome! She took the time to explain the menu and drinks. She had a coffee, the trifecta and a side of grits. I had a Red Medicine and a Traditional breakfast with ham. The coffee was great. The Red Medicine had good flavor and a light texture. The food arrived pretty fast, and everything tasted good. We're glad that we stopped by, and will definitely be...
