Will never stay at this Hampton Inn & Suites again. We made our reservations over the phone on Tuesday, everything at that point was fine. We live in Arkansas, and something came up that was going to prevent us from leaving town until Saturday morning, so on Thursday we tried to cancel our Friday night reservation, but they told us it had to be 48 hours out in order to not be charged. (when we booked no one said anything about the cancellation policy). I called back within 5 minutes to make sure our reservation wasn't going to be canceled for Saturday, and she said no, that it was still booked. So we arrive on Saturday and the lady told us that we didn't have any reservations....to then later find it and tell us that it had all been canceled. She then proceeded to book us a room for the night and used our credit card again, to hold the reservation(the couple that was trying to check in right after us had the same issue with their reservation being canceled and having to re-book) , . When we got up the next day to check out, we asked her if we could pay cash instead of putting on the card and she said yes. When we got back to Arkansas Sunday night, I checked my bank account and noticed that I had been charged a fee for Friday night and Saturday AND we had also paid cash!!! So I called the hotel and the lady told me that they don't accept cash!!!! She told me I would have to call on Monday to talk to a supervisor. I've been calling all morning and still have not been able to talk to anyone about it. The price for the Friday night reservation that I couldn't cancel, yet WAS canceled when we got there, was $25.00 more than our Saturday night room, that had also been canceled. ????? Who has my cash that I gave the clerk if you don't accept cash??? I have yet to be able to talk to anyone that can help me with this or answer my questions. They all seem to always be on the phone with corporate... I can promise you I will never stay here again, and will spread the word about the shadiness...
Read moreFor what its worth, i wouldnt be complaining if this was a motel 6 and the rates were like, half what they were. But for what i paid this experience was super unacceptable.
Dirty room like, the bathroom had mushrooms sprouting out of the floor/wall, the one i photographed looked like itd been there for weeks already. Guess the housekeeping is keeping a tally on how long itll grow for til someone complains.
TV was broken, as pictured. Not like i use the TV but come on...
The thing that really shocked me was the walls were paper thin. I got to listen to my neighbors make love and snore all in the same night, twice. I could make out entire conversations happening in the room next door just from my bed. Why they had seemingly all of their guests right next to each other too is bizarre, the hotel really didnt seem that packed during the week from the parking lot.
Housekeeping is also EXTREMELY LOUD starting at 9am everyday, so if youre planning on staying here longer than one night and sleeping in, prepare to get woken up regardless of whether you asked for housekeeping or not.
The shower and AC both had no idea what they wanted to be temperature wise. Shower settings went from scolding hot to ice cold, and would change at random, so i basically had no control over it really. The AC would be freezing cold when id go to bed but id wake up in a pool of sweat every morning because it just wasnt running for whatever reason.
Dont plan on using the wifi either, it was maybe 3mbps on a good day. But thats typical hotel wifi i suppose.
The staff was super nice at least on my check in and check out. But outside of that, wow i would not stay here again. I would have expected this from a cheap motel but not a hampton inn.
Edit: staff refunded my stay after i made them aware of the mushroom and tv issues, so i updated my review to 2 stars. I think they may just be unaware of all the other issues, they seem nice enough so maybe they will correct the issues...
Read moreUpon check-in on May 6th at 5:00pm, at the Hampton Inn and Suites Dallas/Richardson, water was not given to us per our gold status membership status. My thought is that was in our room. It wasn't but, not a big deal at all. I figured I would ask in the morning. On Sunday, May 7th, I asked the receptionist if we could have water per our membership. She responded with, "you should have gotten it at check-in." I kindly let her know that he didn't give it to us. She responded, "you can have one." I asked her, didn't I get 2. She said, "well how do I know you didn't get it at check-in." At that point, it angered us and told her, nevermind, we didn't want the water and I have no reason to lie about it. Another gentleman was grabbing water and he asked, do you want my room number, and she said no, just take it. Now, I am Hispanic, and he was white. Why was it different circumstances for me? Why wasn't he charged not knowing his status or if he received his water? I encountered his entire conversation and that was never discussed. So, as I fumed per her reaction and disrespect, I returned to my room to get my stuff to check out. As I stood in line to check out, a white couple in front of me had issues with their melted candy they got from the hotel "store". She kindly refunded their account. As I approached I commended her for her great customer service she gave the them and told her I wish we had that same customer service. She rudely said, "well I can't just give away water to everyone." I asked her that was a .50 bottle of water and if was coming out of her paycheck. She continued to talk over me and say, the situation was over. Unbelievable! I was shaking after. I never raised my voice to her, I never said any profanity, I tried to keep as calm as I could trying to teach her that her actions were unfathomable trying to manage a .50 bottle of water. I just spent $150 for one night, and because she "assumed" I was lying and received my bottled water...
