We visited here for Sunday lunch buffet with a friend's family. The restaurant is right in the middle of a busy office area in Richardson and we assumed it should be good. The food presentation was bad. No focus on making sure food is hot in a buffet. Naan and Dosa are NOT made hot for you. They are pre-cooked and kept on the buffet counter for pick up. I have not seen any other good restaurant charging $13.99 for an adult buffet doing this mistake. Breads should never be served stale and cold. Restaurants need to learn it. There are lots of items on the buffet just to justify the high buffet price tag. The focus on quality was clearly lost. I spoke to the person on register and his explanation for high price was the high number of items. It is actually a trap for a consumer. An average adult is never going to eat all of the items and hence, more items just mean more profit for the restaurant. As a consumer, you might feel good after seeing hundreds of food options, but, in reality, you will not get your money's worth. Ample sitting space is a plus. I was impressed with the restaurant using newest technology (Apple systems), tablets to take the payment, signing directly on the register screen and all that fancy stuff. I hope they show the same kind of advancement in their food taste and quality to win more customers. I am from Delhi, but I still love South Indian food and must say that there are many better options available. The texture of the food was so bad that I did not feel like even picking up chicken biryani and putting it in my plate. We visited the place around 12.30 PM when the food is supposed to fresh, but some of items like Veg biryani (more of peas Pulav), looked stale. Curd rice was the only savior for me. But, my friend did like the Goat Liver and Fried fish. I did not try those simply because, they did not look that good, just by looking. Restaurants have to understand that one eats first with eyes, nose and then mouth. As a north Indian vegetarian, you might just find yourself short of options as the only sabzi worth trying was Paneer tikka masala. Desserts had Sewaiyan (good), Beetroot Halwa(okay), Mysore Pak (okay), fruit custard (okay), rice kheer(okay). As a matter of fact, I ate more of sewayain than the food that I came in to eat.

Read moreI highly recommend this place for good ,clean and flavorful Indian food. The chef seems to be from South of India, since all south Indian varieties were outstanding. There were some North Indian varieties too, which were bursting with flavor and aroma as well. I personally liked how they took the whole hygiene/keeping it safe during Covid, to whole another level. Not only you are required to wear a mask, they provide gloves to handle plates and food at buffet. The plates, cups and utensils are use & throw, making sure we don't concern about how well they would be cleanings the plates inside. The staff accommodated us while only 15 mins were left before closing. They were extremely nice and made us feel very welcome. Instead of rushing us, they kept checking on us if we needed anything, kept on reminding us if there were food placed a bit away, which we may have not noticed. Somewhat 20 mins after their closing time, the entire staff made their own plate from the same buffet and sat on a table as a team. That tells me the food must be clean, not stale and we appreciated them utilizing the time to have their own meal rather than starting to close and sweeping the floor while we were still there. Believe me, I have seen the staff sweeping and mopping while we are still consuming food more than you could think of, and that is absolutely disgusting. Many times, I walk to the back door of kitchen, to may be have a glance in or just feel the smell. That tells me a lot about how clean they keep the place where the food is prepared. This kitchen was aromatically inviting. MasalaTwist deserves a very high rating from food department. The only thing I did not like was, they kept a single serving tongs between kids french fries and chicken nuggets, also some of the vegetarian and non vegetarian food were placed side by side on buffet .Being vegetarian and my husband being vegan, that threw us off a bit, and I would take half star away for it.
Overall, I would higly recommend this place and will be definitely...
Read moreI can’t rave enough about this restaurant!
Location: This restaurant is conveniently located in Richardson and easily accessible. In a metroplex like Dallas, which is saturated in the Indian food restaurant business, Masala Twist does not disappoint and is consistent with its high reputation, impressive authenticity and absolutely tasty cuisine.
Food: You can’t go wrong with any of the items to order as the menu is quite diverse and also spot on with whatever you choose to order. I highly recommend the tandoori chicken as it gets presented piping hot and loads of flavor. Quite honestly, out of all the chicken tikka masala I have tried, Masala Twist absolutely killed it with flavor and taste. Not too harsh, actually has some heat, and so creamy and rich. Comparatively, the chicken korma is a must. Many restaurants fail to deliver a tasty and texturally appealing korma, and Masala Twist did not disappoint. The Chettinad curry was also not a very common menu item but was packed with flavor and with your choice of meat. The fried rice is very popular which you can also add with your choice of meat, vegetarian or egg. Now everyone loves a good garlic naan, but I highly recommend trying the Kerala parotta …I promise, you won’t go back to any basic naan again. So flaky and delicate which just melts in your mouth. The food is quite affordable and left us with plenty of leftovers to enjoy at home!
Service: Any popular restaurant must have a trusty crew and staff team. Masala Twist made sure to make the restaurant a comfortable and homey experience with quick and attending staff members. We were greeted immediately and welcomed wholesomely. You can easily tell that the team works together with harmonious respect and efficiency.
I highly recommend Masala Twist to be your go-to Indian cuisine and fusion fix! They are closed on Mondays however do have buffet-styled Sundays, catering capabilities and great options...
