I never write reviews, good or bad. But I want to help other people. DON’T USE THIS COMPANY. Do your research, read other reviews (the 1* ones) and get a second opinion is all I can say. We use AHS and I’ll list all the issues below, but this company is truly the worst I’ve ever worked with for anything.
Our AC unit stopped working so they came out, changed the capacitor and went on their way.
AC worked for 3 days then went out again. It took them 2 days to come out the second time. They said they’d be there between 8-12 and showed up at 4pm.
They then told us our compressor was broken and we’d need it repaired. But that wouldn’t fix it for long so they quoted us for new units ($5k or $10k) and showed us AHS would provide discounts. They could replace the unit the next morning or we’d have to wait days for the repair request to be approved by AHS. We chose to wait.
They didn’t submit the request to AHS for 2 days and when it came back AHS would only pay for $600 of the $4k total bill. A majority of that bill was the cost of the refrigerant/coolant. We luckily have a friend in the industry who asked us why they were charging us for the R22 refrigerant ($200/lb) when our unit takes the (much cheaper) R410A refrigerant.
I had to call Cityline 3 times to get an updated quote that showed the right refrigerant on it, and they kept claiming it was just a typo. The price never changed, but the refrigerant should have been at least 50% cheaper. They claimed they used the best R410A refrigerant you can buy…
We were very uneasy at this point so had someone else come look at the unit. He asked why wires were unplugged in the unit… my belief is they unplugged it to convince us the compressor was out.
Once he plugged the wires back in, he let us know the motor fan was the issue and would need replacing. This was a $200 fix rather than $4k.
We got lucky. But my advice is DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. And if you do because AHS requires it, pay for the second opinion. Trust me. Also, check your unit, you can find the type of refrigerant it uses on the outside and the inside panel. Last thing – they never even submitted replacement quotes to AHS (because AHS would never pay to replace when they can repair). They just showed us a discounted price to prey on the fact that we were hot and hoping we’d replace the unit so it could be done faster. I hope this helps even just one person. Working with this company made me understand why people don’t trust AC companies. Use another company, any other company. Good luck...
Read moreI cannot express enough the gratitude me and my family have for this company! CityLine Air Conditioning and their business practices should be an example for any company out there. No matter what line of business it is. You could learn a great deal from them! They put the customer first and stopped at nothing to make sure we were happy in the end. They were very responsive to phone calls. I was pleasantly surprised to hear during the greeting if there wasn't a callback within 15 minutes another number was given for Victoria so that you could actually text the reason for the call and YES Victoria did respond to my text message! So awesome! My husband called our home warranty company, AHS on Thursday morning to setup CityLine to come out after another company we were dealing with never called us back after 3 days! We recieved a call from CityLine the same day and they scheduled a time to come out later that afternoon. Matt (who was terrific by the way!!!) arrived and accessed the issue. He worked with someone at the office to have a technician come out on the following day (Friday) to repair it. Jamal, Garrett and Odahir arrived at the promised time on Friday and worked into the late evening. They were wonderful and very professional! They even vacuumed the stairs! We were cleaning to get ready for a graduation party at our home so that was one thing we could mark off our list! We had a little issue with the air on Saturday morning, the day of the party so I left a message around 8:00 AM. Matt promptly called me back. He was aware of the time we needed to get to my son's graduation and realized he was unable to get here and repair the issue before we needed to get to the ceremony. He realized there was another technician in the area so he reached out to Alex! Alex was literally at our house within a few minutes and worked very hard to resolve the issue before we needed to leave! CityLine and all of its employees came through for our entire family at a very important time and we will be forever grateful! I would recommend this company to anyone who is having any issues with their AC! Each tech that came literally showed us that they cared! It's so funny because now I'm walking around with sweats on because it's so cold in the house and the thermometer reads 75! Not a bad problem to have considering the heat we had over the weekend! We are so thankful to everyone involved! You were absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much for being...
Read morei would give 0 stars if i could. today the technician shgowed up and immediately had an attitude. he asked where the attic space was and i showed him in the garage and i had aLready backed my car in the garage back halfway so he could access the stairs. He told me i need to move it so he doenst hit my car with the drain pan. This was shocking especiallygiven that my car is a convetible mercedes! he said fine move your golf cart. the golf cart was about 6-8 feet from my car. seems like plenty of room to slide a 2 inch pan by? Iasked him to please provide a recap of the work being done today and he resonded "drain pan" I told him ok butthere is also the drain pan water line that you guys installed at an upwards angle which prevents my system from flushing he resonds with an attitude and says yeah that too it's apart of the pan. I then in formed him that we also need our ducts sealed to the air handler system which should also b ecovered by my warranty. he said he's not ding it so i told him i'm going to go inside and call your office to clear up the misunderstanding. Keep in mind that becase these and several other ducts werwent sealed there is a off gas smell which caused us to have to take out 10 month old to the ER for beathing issues. we also spent 27 days out of our house with a sick teething baby due to this. The technician kept raising his voice saying "sir i want to explain" I had to hang up a conference call and was headed back in to call his office and resume working as he arrived 1:15 late. i took today off from work and waited an additional just to watch him sneak out out my garage leaving both the door and attic entrance wide open. When i called a lady started on the "we dont have you in our recourds"i said ma'am we are so far past this i've already had these discussions and your technician was just here. She responded with "he's not coming back and we don't have anyone else to send".
I will conclude with it took me several weeks to even get an appointment along with no less than a dozen emails with pictures proving me case.
sorry last thing when you gt a air handler the contractor has 90 days to register yoyur system. they failed to do it so now i am short 5 years in my warranty. which they denied.
don't...
