The establishment is messy and dirty. I decided I wanted Indian food so I googled vegetarian indian. So I drive 20 minutes out of the way to go to gopal. First annoyance was I got there and my server was super smelly. There's no reason why any server or person around food should be smelly. Bad hygiene in the food industry is unacceptable. I decided to let it go, I ordered a plain dosa.
My second annoyance, was me waiting FOREVER! Now I had already been seated for about 15 minutes when an older white couple came in. They ordered 4 dosas 15 minutes after I had placed my initial order. Tell me why they got their food 5 minutes later?! So of course I decided to wait a little bit longer, still no food. Another customer came in and ordered his food. 5 minutes later they brought him a Thali plate but I still didn't have Jack squat. I noticed some people from the back peek their heads out and point at me while speaking in another language. I decided that enough is enough, I got up and walked out. I'm still really pissed off. I had to drive all the way back to the other side of town. I am without doubt that they refused to serve me because I'm black. I will NOT return, and I encourage any other black person not to come here and attempt to...
Read moreAlthough I quite enjoy their food, the people running this place severely lack professionalism. Their abysmal service makes me wonder how they are still in business. They behave like they're doing you a favor by even taking your order. Plenty of grunts, minimal words and zero smiles. Not wanting to deal with the rude staff, I usually get take out orders. On most occasions they conveniently 'forget' to add some of the food. Of course, they never forget to charge for it.
On calling to place an order during working hours, I was once yelled at to call later and was hung up on. I have even been told one time that my order was not ready because one of their Latina workers did not show up and how it was all her fault (because why just be unprofessional when you can be racist unprofessionals?)
Their food may be good but their customer service is BEYOND appalling and unacceptable.

Read moreI am visiting Dallas and have been quite surprised at not finding good chaat until we stumbled upon this place. They have nailed the chaat flavors… it definitely has the feel of a small family run business.. you can see them chopping, prepping right there. We tried dahi poori, papdi chaat, dabeli, roti sabji and paav bhaji along with sweet lassi and butter milk.
Taste wise all the food met the mark on how these items should taste expect the paav bhaji… the bread was not the best and surely could use more butter…. Bhaji was a bit off and bland… so skip the paav bhaji and go for the chaat, dabeli and thali.. those were lovely.
Lassi and buttermilk were not to my liking. I am picky about how these should be made, butter milk was a bit thick with not enough jeera and salt in my opinion and sweet lassi was not sweet enough…. my kids thought I was been silly and thought these drinks tasted great.
We will visit again...
