I recently visited this coffee shop and while there were some positives, there were also a few areas that left me disappointed. Here’s a breakdown of my experience: Latte Flavor: The coffee latte was the highlight of my visit. The flavor was rich, well-balanced, and expertly crafted. It’s clear that they take their coffee seriously, and it shows in the quality of the drink. Place Settings & Arrangement: The seating arrangement and overall setup of the coffee shop were not well thought out. The tables were either too close together or awkwardly placed, making it feel cramped and uncomfortable. It didn’t create a cozy or inviting atmosphere, which is something I look for in a coffee shop. High Prices: The prices for both desserts and lattes were on the higher side. While I don’t mind paying a premium for quality, the value didn’t quite match the cost, especially for the desserts. Limited Dessert Options: The dessert selection was very limited, which was disappointing. I was hoping for a variety of pastries, cakes, or other treats to pair with my latte, but the options were sparse and uninspiring. Dessert Quality: Unfortunately, the dessert I ordered was not tasty. It lacked freshness and flavor, which was a letdown considering the high price. For a coffee shop that seems to prioritize quality in their drinks, the desserts fell short. Overall Impression: While the coffee latte was excellent, the overall experience was marred by the uncomfortable seating arrangement, high prices, limited dessert options, and subpar dessert quality. This coffee shop has potential, but it needs to improve its ambiance, expand its dessert menu, and ensure that all offerings meet the same standard as...
Read moreI had visited la souq since I kept seeing it on my instagram and it has beautiful aesthetics and decor!! The coffee is good but the matcha is highly disappointing and bad. When opening a cafe, the owners must be doing throughout research before introducing a product. Not just have it cause it’s trending or something. That’s simply unintentional and unethical. I’ve tried it once and gave it a try again before writing a review, the matcha from la souq I’m not sure what matcha powder they use but it’s definitely not a good quality matcha cause it doesn’t even have matcha notes and tastes nothing like what a good matcha does. You can just tell by its color too and the taste is absolutely weird nothing like a matcha. So pls do your research, invest in a good quality matcha powder and learn how to make it properly and sell it. As a muslim business owner we should uphold our amanah when people spend their money we can’t just fool them with anything. We will be answerable to Allah for what we created and sold to thousands. If you didn’t know it before it’s ok but you can’t be selling it even after being corrected you can simply take it off your menu then. I saw a couple girls coming inn and talking to the employee asking about the matcha and saying how they were excited to have it and have never tried it before and scared it will taste weird. You will be disappointing so many customers if you keep continuing this… if you want I can suggest you a few matcha powders. Or I would even make a matcha at home and bring it you to show what actual good matcha tastes like. Hope you respond...
Read moreI had the pleasure of trying the Zaatar/olive oil latte and the fig latte, and I must say, they were absolutely incredible! The Zaatar/olive oil latte is a bold, creative offering that beautifully balances earthy and aromatic flavors. It’s a unique experience in every sip, perfect for anyone looking for something beyond the usual coffee menu. Similarly, the fig latte was a revelation. The subtle sweetness of the fig blends seamlessly with the coffee, creating a smooth, comforting drink that feels like a treat with every cup.
However, I must say the tiramisu was a bit disappointing. While the presentation was appealing, the flavor and texture fell short of expectations. A tiramisu should have a perfect balance of creamy mascarpone, rich coffee-soaked layers, and just the right hint of cocoa. Unfortunately, the dessert lacked the depth and indulgence I was hoping for. Perhaps a tweak to the recipe or fresher ingredients could elevate it to match the quality of the drinks. Too much cream
Overall, this place shines for its inventive and well-executed beverages. The ambiance is welcoming, and the staff is attentive, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy unique flavors. If you're a coffee enthusiast or someone who loves exploring new taste profiles, this is definitely worth a visit. I look forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu. Hopefully, the tiramisu improves by then because this place has so much potential to be a true gem.
Highly recommend the lattes here – they’re a...
