First time here, and it was outstanding! Ordered a glass of sparkly to start. $8, and it was nice! We ordered two bottles of a Sicilian Cabernet wine called Stemmari, which was the perfectly paired wine for our meal. It was lovely! Appetizers of queso, guacamole, chips, and salsa were delicious! Being Hispanic, I know salsa, and Pappsitos makes a tasty salsa! Chips are thin but tasty. We were celebrating a birthday, and our waiter asked the birthday girl for permission to sing Happy Birthday to her. She agreed, and later, they brought an enormous Sombrero for her to put on while they clapped to an upbeat HB song. It was fun, and I was impressed they asked for permission from the birthday girl. It was the first time I've ever encountered such consideration. Well done! The birthday girl wanted to dine at Pappasito's for the RIBS. I was prepared to dine on Tex-Mex. And was already loving the tortillas, guacamole, chips, queso, and salsa when... they set a huge dish in front of me, filled with ribs and grilled spicy shrimp. The most awesome looking ribs and shrimp ever! Sides of beans and rice, and a super generous plate of guacamole and Pico. I selected the Borracho Beans. Beans and rice were okay, but I took one bite and gave them away. I love ribs and have eaten at the best BBQ restaurants in Dallas, but NONE compared to Pappasito's Ribs! My husband doesn't like to eat ribs b/c he says they require too much work for so little meat. But at Pappasito's, he could only eat half of his ribs b/c they were so meaty, and Allan is 6 ft 4 inches tall, so he can put it away! Pappasito's is THE PLACE to enjoy the best tasting, juicy, huge, meaty ribs! You have to experience them yourself! So guess what left-overs we're having tonight? We finished our birthday party with a tres leches cake and sopapillas with honey. Fantastic food, fantastic service, great fun! I'll never go to a BBQ restaurant for ribs again. Pappasito's is THE restaurant for ribs!

Today was a great dining experience for the most part. I was out checking on projects on the area so decided to have a lunch stop. I came a little before 12, there were quite a few people standing around at the hostess stand. One hostess was on the phone, the other was just standing there staring off into space doing nothing. I asked the ladies being in front of me if they had been helped yet and they gave me a rolled eye and snicker and said no. A manager swooped in and started giving everyone situated which I appreciated. The interior of the restaurant was colorful and pretty similar to the other locations with the Matador decor. I like the stained glass hanging light features in the main dining room. I was quickly waited on by a server who is training a young lady. They were both very friendly and stayed on top of everything efficiently. The iced tea glasses were packed with ice so they seem to have to stop by more frequently than I need to do to refill. The chip basket was overflowing, they probably could have put a little bit less in there considering it was just me eating. Salsa was delicious and had a really nice roasted tomato flavor. I worked at pappasito's a very long time ago in Austin and was surprised to see how much the prices have gone up since then. Even the lunch specials were on the higher end of price. An iced tea for $3.25 seems pretty excessive. I got the chicken tinga enchilada with Verde sauce and a beef taco for $14.95. The enchilada was delicious and the taco is as big as my hand, the meat had a very spicy flavor. The beans and rice we're a little too firm for my liking. Needed a little bit more time to cook. Considering the price and the slight wait time at the hostess stand I gave this four stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

We made reservations for our team’s holiday dinner with 14 people. We were given a “private room” with 2 SEPARATE TABLES to seat 8 people and other one for the rest. We asked for the tables to be put together as we were the only people there. This “private room”, as shown in the picture was used for storage and a “bus station” for extra utensils, napkins, rags, etc. There was a dingy smell and employees kept coming in and out to go work on the napkin/utensil task. We stood in the room for 10 minutes for a “manager” to “approve” the ask of putting 4 tables together so our party could sit together for dinner. The manager finally showed up with a bad attitude, lacked professionalism in his communication skills and stated that the restaurant doesn’t sit more than 10 people at a table. (We were never told that at time of reservation.) The manager then proceeded to tell us there was nothing he could do, no options, apologies or accommodations. He simply didn’t care and shrugged it off. So our team dinner consisted of 2 different groups. Strangest and awkward experience at a restaurant. I am appalled at the lack of professionalism and the way “large parties” are treated. Our experience was great with our waiter who was very friendly. Food was okay. Although tortillas were good. The garlic butter sauce was a bit strange. Since the flavors didn’t really go with Mexican theme. Price was higher than expected for the type of food. The margaritas were alright. Bar area looked outdated and sticky. The restaurant had a strange smell to it that came from dirty mops/rags. I will definitely never go back to this place or recommend it.

I don't normally leave reviews about restaurants but what happened to me and my date is still bothering me and I'd like to share my experience. Wednesday July 17th a friend of mine and I came to this restaurant for our dinner. As soon as we sat down at our table we ordered one strawberry margarita each and one shot of Patron each. We took about 30 -35 minutes looking over the menu and deciding what we wanted to eat. When the waitress came back to the table we placed our order with her and requested one more margarita each and one more shot each. She said "no problem" and went to put our order in. About 5 minutes later the manager, I didn't get her name, came over to the table and asked us how our experience was so far, we told her everything was fine, we thanked her then she walked away. Our food came to the table about 15 minutes after that. Right after our food got there the manager comes to the table with the two shots that we ordered, sets them down on the table and says "I'm going to serve these drinks to you guys, but I don't feel comfortable serving you anymore after this". Immediately I asked why not. She says " I just don't feel comfortable" to which I reply "what are we doing to make you feel uncomfortable?" She stares at me for a few seconds and repeats "I just don't feel comfortable." I say to her "I heard you say that, I'm asking why you feel that way." One last time she says "I just don't feel comfortable." I was speechless because at this point all we had done is sit there and talk to each other. We weren't louder than anyone else in the restaurant, we weren't bothering anyone around us, we weren't drunk...nothing. We were on a first date and were just talking and getting to know one another better. After the manager walks away we decide that we no longer would like to spend our money in this place and I asked the hostess to go get our waitress. She comes back and tells me that the manager will be the one coming back over to talk to us. A few minutes later the manger comes back to our table but she's got one of the male cooks with her...I'm assuming to be a "body guard" or something. That's what it felt like anyway. He tries to tell me that the reason they were refusing to serve us any more alcohol was because it was it was Pappsito's policy to not serve that much alcohol in that short of a time frame, which sounded like an excuse to me because just a few minutes before this the manager was telling us it was because she was uncomfortable. And we had only had one margarita and one shot in the hour we had been there. If it was a policy issue she would have just said that, right? We tell them both that we want to send back the two shots that the manager brought to the table and the two plates of food back and that we will just pay for the two margaritas and the two shots that we drank earlier. They took everything off the bill that we sent back, we paid then we left feeling very upset. I have racked my brain for the past few days trying to figure out what we did wrong and why they thought it was ok to treat us that way and I can't come up with anything. We literally did nothing wrong. I don't know if this has anything to do with what happened but for context, me and my date are both black and the manager is white. I'm not sure what could happen from here that would begin to make this right, but me and my friend will definitely never attend this...

EVERYONE READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE GOING INTO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I am a disabled Veteran who served my country and protected this nation for a decade. I had the absolute displeasure of attempting to dine in tonight as a regular paying customer for well over five years. Tonight I was met with discrimination, ugliness, and contempt by the General Manager Elaine, who had me thrown out of the restaurant for NO good reason at all. I had been enjoying this place for years, and been a regular at the bar on Sundays to have my favorite meal and a drink. Today I showed up to be greeted by a manager who told me that I am not welcome, because apparently they have a story that a “mysterious person” doesn’t like me there. The last time I was there a month ago, I got dirty looks by one pf the managers, who rolled her eyes at me when I asked for a Veteran’s discount. Are you discriminating against Veterans who serve out country now?

I had been coming there every Sunday to catch Sunday night football, and made friends with EVERY bartender there, including the servers who work cocktail. I personally know Jose, Oscar, Elle, Holly, Rachel, Edwin, Stephanie, Kylie, and so many more wonderful employees that have served me and taken good care of me. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, upper management decided to have me singled out and embarrassed me IN FRONT OF SEVERAL patrons at the bar.. telling me that “We won’t serve you here, and you need to leave”. When I asked why, the manger told me that some stranger made a complaint about me making them feel “weird”. I asked who this mysterious person was, and I was refused an answer, or a more detailed explanation. I named people there at the bar, who were genuinely excited to see me, and asked if they had a problem with me. My good friend Jose and Edwin were at the bar and looked totally confused at what was happening. Two gentlemen were standing to my left, and a couple to my right, were just looking at me and wondering what was going on. It was a huge scene and I am completely baffled as to why Pappasitos would treat a loyal paying customer this way. I have never done anything wrong to anyone, nor does any employee there “dislike me”. Every time I am there, I am met with hugs and high fives by ALL of the staff. This restaurant has gone south, and discriminates against people with disabilities. I cannot believe how I was treated tonight, and I highly encourage you to turn around and go somewhere else like UNCLE JULIOS. Pappasitos is way overpriced and charges extreme amounts for their food anyways. They also microwave their tortilla soup and kids macaroni, which is false advertisement to their “scratch kitchen” concept. Stay away from this horrible business. You have been warned. I expect a member of corporate to call me or email me to find a resolution to this disgusting treatment...

We've been here twice and was disappointed again! It's the closest location to us unfortunately. The first time was on my birthday and it was a disappointing birthday dinner! The chips were so salty that we had to keep rubbing the salt off both visits. The tea is so light you can see through it so it has a watery flavor. The food never seems really hot. When I cut in my enchiladas the cheese should stretch because it's melted not hard. The enchiladas barely had chili con carne sauce on them both visits. That was with 4 plates today! Had some tough pieces of chicken in my enchilada. We asked for well done on the fajita meat and the meat was red inside. I didn't send it back because I didn't know how long it would take to get it fixed due to another problem receiving our food in the first place. 2 plates were brought out first then a few minutes later 3 kids plates came out, then my plate was missing and I was told it'll be out in 2 minutes and it was over 5 minutes! There was no apology and I know that was a manager that brought it out! So our dinner was weird and messed up. Then the same manager and employees were giving a lot of attention to one table most likely family since later on we saw the manager walking holding hands to a toddler from that table. So we were like no wonder those people were getting good service! Then another thing that really made me upset is that a waiter bumped into my chair while I was eating and didn't even say anything!!! Then before leaving I took my daughter to the restroom, a waitress kindly waited for me to pass so as I passed her the same waiter that bumped my chair walked right in front of me carrying food to the table next to the restroom!!! He didn't say anything, that was very rude and stupid!!! I will not be back to this location again!!! I'll go to the one in Dallas, I went a few months ago and everyone there was very generous and the food was great! Hot and fresh like it should be! We usually went to the one in Fort Worth but we moved across town so unfortunately we can't go...
