I went to Sultan Cafe for lunch. Disclaimer - I did not read any previous reviews of this place. So, I was quite surprised when I realized that it really is a Hookah bar first and the food is really secondary.

The first thing that I noticed once I stepped inside was that our group was the only table that did not smoke any hookahs.

I ordered a kufta lunch plate. It arrived approximately 25 minutes after I ordered it. Unfortunately for me, although the meat was edible , it was extremely overcooked and was extremely dry. The fattoush (which is a salad) was not too bad. The best part of the dish was the cauliflower (although they should have specified that it is bits of cauliflower mixed with mayo). I wanted to objective and ask my fellow dinners what they thought and the best they could answer was that the food was okay.

Also, be aware that when you ask for water, they only have bottled water and they do not inform you of that and it was an extra charge. Included in the table was pita bread, but it was also overcooked and dry. A coworker asked if it included any sauce and they brought out hummus for him but didn't let him know it was extra as well.

To summarize, the food is edible, but there are many better options available in the area. Most likely, this is a one and done...

Sultan was incredible. You walk in and they serve you lemon mint drink. As soon as you walk in you feel like royalty! My boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary together, so they brought us complimentary tea to start off the evening. I booked us a window seat which is amazing and it was very well worth it. We had Ahmad and he was fabulous. Very accommodating and finished our evening by sending over complimentary desserts that were incredible. The knafa was my favorite that had ice cream on top. So yummy! Get the tilapia it has their fire roasted rice and peppers in it. The tilapia is a must! Comes with warm garlic brioche. If you're ordering hookah try The Double apple It's a great hookah . Thank you Sultan for having us and making our evening so enjoyable- we will...

I've been coming here on and off for years, but I really have to admit the quality of their service has just absolutely plummeted. Customer service seems to be a complete afterthought if you're not there to smoke hookah, and it shows given the general lackadaisical attitude of the staff in general and sometimes complete lack of attention to detail regarding even the most basic of requests. I kind of put up with it for a while because there were certain items on the menu I really liked, but I decided I've had it and won't be coming back after my last visit. Maybe it's better if you order a hookah and some tobacco along with...

I had an amazing experience at Sultan Cafe in Richardson, Texas! The hospitality was top-notch, with the owner and his kids—Mustafa, Rocky, and Muhammad—running the place as smoothly and excellently as their dad, if not better. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the hummus with meat and the gyro. I highly recommend requesting hummus inside the gyro sandwich roll; it’s a delightful twist that takes the flavor to the next level. Overall, a fantastic dining experience with great people and outstanding food! Over 25 years in business been going here since they grand opened.

We ordered a family platter, and it was really tasty. The meat was grilled at perfect temperature, and even fries were good. The only downside of this great restaurant is that if you are allergic to hookah, then you can't eat here unless the weather permits to eat out to their tables. We happened to catch perfect weather and enjoyed the great food with excellent service outside.
