These are all just my personal ratings - TL;DR everything was amazing. I will make it my personal mission to try everything. Sorry no photos - it was all devoured by the time I thought about taking any.
I wish I had taken pictures!! - once the food hit the table everyone was silent and if we were talking it was talking about how the food was so amazing. I’ve eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants and this one is by far my number 1 spot. Hands down.
My constant variable at any Thai restaurant is papaya salad.
I requested the hot level of papaya salad. One bite and I was blown away! The crunchiness, the sourness, the spiciness, perfect blend of, what I call, crack fish sauce. It was just chef’s kiss!!! 12/10 - I will be craving this now ty
I also ordered summer spring rolls, veggie egg rolls, beef pad Thai no spice (for the little one), and hot level chicken yellow curry, and crab fried rice!
The summer rolls were a refreshing appetizer to share at the table paired with a creamy peanut sauce. 9/10 only because I prefer spring rolls with rice noodles inside but tastes great nonetheless. (not sure of that would be Vietnamese summer rolls now, but that’s how I personally like to eat them) Still - get it!!
Veggie rolls - who doesn’t like a crunchy fried egg roll with a sweet and sour sauce?! 10/10
No spice beef Pad Thai - Had to get this one for the little. I’d get this again for myself and try with a little bit of spice for an extra kick. Creamy and savory with a hint of sweet. Another chef’s kiss 10/10
Crab Fried rice - was a little hesitant to try due to the price at $22. However! It did not disappoint. Lots of crab meat as well, it was my splurge item and would definitely get it again to share at a table!!! (Or not share, cause when you taste it you’ll regret ever thinking of sharing) 10/10
Hot level yellow chicken Curry - my husband loves his curry and loves his spice. He’s not the type to eat a lot of rice but, this meal made him eat 2 heaping bowls of white rice. (Also some curry with crab fried rice) I only tried the curry sauce since I was pretty full nibbling on the rest mentioned above. If I had a second stomach, it would be for that curry. 10/10 (husbands rating)
Vibes - Casual. Wear whatever. Great spot to have a glass of wine or 2-3 bottles if that’s your thing..with people of course.
Servers - Attentive, friendly, they all seemed like amazing people - shoutout to the server with the green and gray rim (Oakley?) glass. Very sweet man and helpful with choose the spice levels.
Anyway - I am normally not the type to post a review, but when I do, it’s when I’m beyond happy about the quality of the...
Read moreOh, was this ever a boon to the weary traveler with a head-cold and spice deprivation! Best Thai I've had in a long time.
Seating and service were very quick on a Tuesday night, but I can't see this place being anything but jam-packed later in the week.
The menu is a good selection of American Thai (southern Thailand) staples - various curries, rice, noodle and stir-fry dishes organized by type. Vegetarian and meat additions are at the price listed, seafood a little extra. Some diners may be surprised by the $1 extra for Jasmine or brown rice, but even so, the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.
The chef is clearly experienced in catering to a wide range of chili tolerance - you will get exactly the heat level you order. In our group, we had all heat preferences from no spice to nuclear heat and everyone was satisfied. Seafood wasn't overcooked, vegetables in stir-fry were tender-crisp, sauces were flavorful and redolent of fresh herbs, garlic and spices.
Thai's Thumbs is a BYOB restaurant - there's no alcohol service, but one of the first things you see as you enter is a bookcase displaying the empty bottles of wine that patrons have left.
The decor is pleasing enough for the price point - the one jarring note was the spaghetti Italian music playing slightly too loudly. Parking near the restaurant...
Read moreWent here with my cousin on Tuesday and the food was just okay. We went at lunch time, so they had a $11 meal special thay came with a salad, soup, and an entree. Withe lunch special you got your choice of proteins including Chicken, shrimp, tofu, beef, and a couple of others. I decided to get the vegetable stir fry and add chicken to it. I asked the waitress that it be prepared without any soy, as I am allergic. She told me that this should not be a problem and left.
About five minutes later she returns and explaina that they are unable to prepare my meal without soy as all of it is prepared with soy. She told me that they could put the soy on the side. I tried to explain to her again that I was allergic to soy and I could not eat anything that has soy. She then repeated what she said firsy and then told me that the food could not be changed. She then spoke to one of the managers who politely told me that they are able to prepare it without soy, but it would taste plain. And plan it was--a tiny bit spicy, but overall it was just okay. They diefinitelt need to have alternatives ways of preparing their food to accomdate those with allergies.
Overall I would not return for this reason and because of the poor tasting soup and salad. Both were very bland and super salty. I can get both of these at home without trying. On...
