It's been almost several years since I went to a Whataburger and bought a sandwich or burger. Back then, the excitement of buying something and eating from them was an experience to enjoy on certain occasions. To taste the meaty patty melt, to swirl the tongue and let the melted cheese wrap around it, and immersing myself through everlasting taste.
After spending the last few years or so visiting different places with burgers and/or sandwiches and enjoying what they had to offer. I decided to come back to this Whataburger and get a Patty Melt. Sinking my teeth and what will be the last thing I buy from any Whataburgers on a whim.
Having felt different qualities and broadening my taste buds and horizons - and somewhat humbled of the idea of trying out new things, the Patty Melt felt kind of underwhelming and far too inferior than I remembered. Instead of feeling a sense of enjoyment and fulfillment, I felt slightly disgusted of the taste and wondered what happened to the Patty Melt that went into the deepest parts of my... belly all those years ago. I am not exactly sure what happened but tasting something completely different in quality is probably the reason why I felt the Patty Melt as different.
It's eating the same meal at a different place then coming back to the old place with the same meal - suddenly, the taste between the two is clear as night and day between a toasted and untoasted piece of bread. I've got nothing against Whataburger at all, it's just... I realized at the time that there are quality burgers and sandwiches that far surpass Whataburger's.
I'll still come here to eat but not on a...
Read moreI have been going to this Whataburger for about a year. Usually I get really great service with really great food, but tonight I was left with such a bad taste in my mouth not only from the food but from the employees.
Now I am not writing this to harp on the underpaid and overworked employees, but the way I was talked to by a TEAM LEADER was shocking. It started when I tried to order my food, halfway through my first sentence this lady is yelling at me through the drive through yelling she cannot hear me. You either couldn't hear me because A) You are not listening. B) Your volume on your headset is low. C) You want to get in an argument with me.
And as someone who worked for Whataburger and was a Team leader for 2+ years, I've learned when you're interacting with someone who just wants to argue and fight, just ignore them and that's what I did. I paid in cash they refused to give me a receipt and slammed the window on me. After checking my bag there were multiple items missing as well as a wrong flavored milkshake. Nonetheless I went back in and got it fixed, I know these reviews are maybe glanced at by the General Manager, but some serious auditing needs to be done for the night shift, I get it is a struggle to find people to work the 11pm-7am but this location has promoted someone to a leadership role and they can barley handle there own emotions. I do hope this review sparks some kind of change because I loved going here but after tonight, never again.
Bad food, bad service, bad...
Read moreOne of the managers who is now at this Richardson location was at the Forest Lane location. She likes it better at the Richardson location since the employees and management care a lot about the overall operation of this location. I had a 5 star rating for the Forest Lane location, but shortly after I posted this excellent rating, I had a lousy experience, and took it down with no regret! Employees did not do essential things, like keep restrooms clean, change out dirty and old fryer cooking oil, and often ran out of Dr Pepper and other food items I like. According to another manager who has transferred to another Whataburger in Dallas, the general manager does not look after the day to day operations of this store, and relies on the other salaried managers to work a ridiculous amount of hours, and they must be very tired of it. I heard most of the regular employees are unprofessional, disrespectful, and refuse to follow managers orders. Once again, this great manager at the Richardson Whataburger left the Forest Lane location since she was possibly one of only 2 or 3 people who actually cared about the store. On my final visit to the Forest Lane store, this manager told me she was leaving and going to the Richardson Whataburger, where she now feels valued, respected, and appreciated. I am very...
