If I could give this 3.5 stars I would. Overall experience was good it just needs a little more refining. The floor is run by a bunch of young highschool age looking kids which I think is great, but it sort of seemed like they were left with no supervision. How hard can it be though right? It's basically Subway only with pizza. But the ordering process would have gone a lot smoother if the kids were trained a little more/had a manager on the floor with them overlooking things. When my bf and I got to the first person taking names/orders we were ignored while she argued with the girl at the very end of the line and then started complaining about her to the boy in between them before then greeting us. No arguing should be done in front of customers ever, it just looks really unprofessional and kind of set a bad tone. Next when going through what toppings I wanted before I could even say what I'd like next I'd be interrupted with "Anything else?" Well yes, if you'd just let me finish I'll let you know which toppings I'd like. I understand moving people through a line is necessary at a place like this but I definitely felt rushed. We ordered a family size Caesar salad to share, and while the name says "Family Style" it was just enough for two people to share. We ate it out of the metal bowl it came in but I later realized we should have been offered plates if we were sharing. Salad was pretty dry, we asked for the salad to be tossed at the counter with the dressing, but had to go back and grab more as it was just too dry. Last thing is there is absolutely no communication between the line of pizza makers and the cashier. He just stood there cluelessly until we repeated our order back to him. He was also too young to pour beer, so had to prolong our transaction by finding another person of age to pour the beer. Not a big deal but definitely slowed down an overall frustrating experience. The pizza was good for the price and it is definitely a cool concept that isn't here in Tri-Cities, but unless they do a little more training on their customer service I'm not sure their pizza is good enough to keep customers...
Read moreWe chose this place for my son's birthday. We had never been to a Mod Pizza before and my son loves trying new pizza places. I called the day of and asked if it was open seating or if we could reserve seats. The girl on the phone said it's just open seating, first come first serve. I asked her if there was enough room for 18 people and she said "oh yeah, we have lots of room." My mom showed up 20 minutes early to get a table for all of us and she was told that she could not "hold tables." There is NOT much seating in this place. In fact on the wall when you come in it even states 42 ppl max. 42!!!! So my party was almost half of that. I wish I would have known that before telling everyone to meet us there. So we all sat at 2 tops and 4 tops in random places, not together. The price is good as far as what you get. It's like a subway feel but for pizza and salad. Most of our group had pizza and 6 of them were burnt in one spot. I guess that comes with the "fire cooked" method that they use. I had a salad and it was good. They only have IPA'S on tap and a couple other alcohol drinks in bottles. I really wanted a beer since it was 102 outside and I waited about 30 min in line to order my food but they didn't carry Coors light or anything like it. I can see this place being great for lunch but for dinner if you are a family of 6 or more you may not be able to sit together. Once this place has calmed down from the newness, it might be worth the wait and seating but for now, most people in my group said they would...
Read moreNeed to say, WOW THIS COMPANY KNOWS HOW TO DO BUSINESS! I work within the restaurant business and when it comes to mistakes on orders I approach them very politely and logically, NEVER asking for anything free as a consumer and ensuring the person having the dining experience is enjoyable on the serving end.
Well, my man and I eat plant-based, or as many people know it as vegan, so we are very familiar with receiving mess up orders. Before placing the order online I called to ensure everything I ordered was in fact vegan. They ensured me the garlic bread could be if asked for with no cheese, the red sauce is good, but the pesto has cheese in it! So I went into my order and made modifications, every food item had “Dairy allergy” on it.
When we were going to eat the pie I realized on the bottom it said “add pesto” and opened the box to find the mistake. I call up mod pizza and explain the situation calmly and politely - consumers this is key, things happen so don’t take anger out on other humans. When I sent my man in to the store to grab it they gave us a free salad/pizza card (I wanted to order a salad over the phone but decided not to) so I sent him back in. A lovely lady who worked there approached him with a gift card of $30 for messing up our order. Honestly, just a great business offering options for all and a notion to be kind because we get what we give. Thanks MOD PIZZA,...
