One of my favorite restaurants in Tri Cities. I have been dozens of times, not for the service, but for the food.
I went there for happy hour and ordered 3 appetizers, a kids meal, and an entree. The sever, Eryn, specifically asked me if I wanted all the food out together or apps first, and I said we want the appetizers and the kids meal out first and she said no problem. About 10 minutes later we were handed our entree. No kids meal. No appetizers. Then about 5 minutes later we were handed all of our appetizers. The sever said “oops I totally did that backwards, my bad” No apology was given. The server did nothing to fix her mistake. She never came back to check on us, and see how our food was tasting. She showed up only to drop off our check. I paid $5.35 for a lemonade that she never refilled, I had to ask a different server for a refill. Then she came over to our table in her street clothes to pick up the check because she was off the clock. Clearly she was just trying to rush us and get us out of there as fast as possible to clock off. I was also charged $1 more for the coconut shrimp appetizer than what the promotional menu lists it at. One menu says $8 and one says $7 and I was charged the $8.
I eat out several times a week and have been a server for several years, and I’ve never experienced such horrible service. I never received an apology, the sever never asked what she could do to make the situation better, absolutely nothing. So disappointing to see such a great restaurant employing such horrible servers and setting such a...
Read moreToday was my first time at Hops n Drops. I read the menu online. Looked like a lot of great things to choose from. I like that! So I went to the guy at the front, who sits people. I was the only one there at his Prodium. Then a bunch of different groups of people came in. So he told me I have to wait to place my to-go order. Wow!! So after 5 different groups..he FINALLY took my order! He actually made me feel like..NOT-AS-IMPORTANT AS ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE THAT WERE BEHIND ME!! I should have just turned around and walked out!! Because it WAS NOT WORTH THE WAIT and to be treated soo badly!! So I ordered Southwest chicken tapuitos. The wait was extremely long!! Finally it come out. This guy that took my order, was visiting with another employee. I didn't think that was my order..because IT JUST SAT THERE..SO I STOOD UP..he sees me..THEN AND ONLY THEN HANDS ME MY COLD LONG WAITING ORDER!
So my excitement about this place ONLY lasted about after I had to wait for MORE IMPORTANT PEOPLE TO GET THEIR SEATS!!
That's it for me!! My food was cold! Over priced for 5 little fried..somethings..
Maybe it would have tasted better..IF IT WASN'T COLD!!
What I am sadly noticing is the way these young people have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE ABOUT RESPECT and Courtesy!
SO..THIS IS NOT A PLACE I WOULD WANT TO GO BACK TO!!
I...
Read moreEvery time I try a new place, I start with a beef dip. It's a handy litmus test and tells you a lot about a restaurant. If you get a big bun, a little meat and some boullion passed off as beef broth, the place is only concerned about profit and you can skip it. I was completely unprepared for the mountain of awesome that I received at Hopjacks. First off, the service was great and dealt with our rowdy party of six with grace, attentiveness and courtesy that we scarcely deserved. Second, the bottomless lemonades are excellent. Third, the monster french dip they served me was prime cuts, perfectly cooked and seasoned on a roll with some real substance. I couldn't ask for a better french dip. Honestly, just thinking about it brings a tear to my eye. Just breathtaking. Lastly - the prices are really quite reasonable for the quality of food and service that you get. Thank you, everyone at Hopjacks. You're awesome.
Edit: The prices are no longer reasonable. Last time I went with my SO, we had a monster beef dip, each, and a drink, each, and it came to over...
