Nepal is on India's northern border. I've spent time in New Delhi and this restaurant is the best of both worlds! The Nepalese spice blends and dishes are amazing. We are so lucky to have this hidden gem in a srip mall in Richmond Hill. The atmosphere is very casual and reminds me of a New Delhi restaurant. There is no fancy location or decor and a limited bar, but here it's all about the food. Raj and his team in front are quick to and courteous to serve you. Do not let the vegetarian dishes scare you with the delicate spices. You will not miss the meat. We eat here at least once a month and have never had a bad dish or bad service. We brought some friends and started this visit with the Lasooni Cauliflower and Chili Paneer. They were both amazing! I think this is one of the best ways to make cauliflower taste good without burying it in cheese. We also usually get the Chicken 65, crispy, deep-fried spicy goodness. Dinner dishes tonight started with Paneer Makhani and Matar Paneer. Cheese dishes in a curry sauce. We put them over the basmatti rice and each spoonful melts in your mouth. The Matar Paneer has the peas that add some texture. We also ordered the Chicken Tikka. Boneless chicken pieces marinated in yogurt with spices and baked in tandoor (clay oven). I also highly recommend the Butter Chicken, Dal Makhani, and Chana Masala. As well as any of the lamb or goat dishes, they know how to cook them perfectly! Make sure you order the bullet or garlic Naan to dip in every sauce and wipe your plate as well as the Raita to dip in between dishes to cleanse your pallet. Spice levels are not North Americanized levels, so adjust accordingly. They will serve mild to hot, and vindaloo will get your attention. Do yourself a favor and take a trip to Nepal tonight without leaving GA! Ask for Raj

This is a no-frills operation. My husband and I have admittedly been spoiled by the plethora of really good Indian restaurants in NJ. This was such a disappointment. The buffet was very limited with only a couple of vegetarian dishes. The onion and mint chutneys were tasty but watery. The vegetarian dish advised it had several vegetables but all we saw was cauliflower. Again, the sauce was watery. There were 3 chicken dishes. The tandoori chicken was good. The chicken chunks in sauces were tough. Generally outside the onion chutney, the food lacked flavor. Desserts were watery rice pudding with pistachio and some liquidy raisin pudding. In terms of service, meh. The tables had no silverware or napkins. You have to pick these up at the buffet. The napkins are the flimsy ones you see in a table dispenser at a hole-in-the-wall diner. Some observations; there were a fair amount of customers for a Tuesday lunch. Some looked like regulars and ordered from the menu. The check is presented electronically. The gratuity is pre-selected at 25%. The choices are 20, 25 and 30%. When the payment was processed the server immediately pressed the 5 stars for the customer rating. We had been looking forward to going to this restaurant since we moved to Savannah and visited our kids in Richmond Hill. As I said above it was disappointing.

Tucked away in the colonial street town of Richmond Hill is Himalayan Curry Kitchen. Often times, we discuss topics of ‘competition’ in business with the assumption that it actually exists. However, the people of Himalayan Curry Kitchen are aware of no such thing. On the day this restaurant opened, the dreck and sloth of competition was instantly annihilated. This is the best dining facility in the entire surrounding community, and quite frankly, the entire state of Georgia should understand the fury of excellence that is Himalayan Curry Kitchen. I knew what I wanted the first day I arrived. The chicken korma came to my table in a brief, but proper time. The golden thoroughness; the creamy depths; the host of spices; the correctness; the history of their heart; the story of their sacrament. God has blessed this location. I want more people to try this food; I want the world to try this food. But I understand the perversion of man is great and dements the best things about our human experience. So savor this place. Savor the quiet hush of their perfect food. When I see other people sitting at other tables, I know they are on their own journey of happiness, like me. Wait no longer. Search no further. The answer has found you. Your time has arrived. Come to Himalayan Curry Kitchen.

Myself (African American) and my wife (German) decided to give this place a shot. My wife had been looking forward to a lunch date here for a while and I had never had Indian food before so first time. Let me start by saying the food was delicious and the booth and tables was clean. However, that unfortunately is where my positive marks end. The over all environment felt very hostile and uncomfortable, upon entry I noticed other guest was being waited to tables while myself and my wife stood waiting for assistance and had to alfind a waiter and ask for seating only to be told "you can go sit where ever". Next it took a waiter over 5 minutes to even approach me and my wife to ask for drinks, and in case your wondering no the place was not packed. Including me and my wife 4 tables was taken, the place was not busy at all. While seated I noticed various waiters and even one of the chefs just glaring at me and my wife, as one waiter (after we had our food) was constantly circling around our booth and watching us like a hawk. Once we was done eating we asked not one but two different waiters for our check so we could leave. We noticed other guest getting their checks brought to them so we waited. After almost ten minutes we then asked another waiter could we pay and was pointed to the cash register, no words given. So we paid and not a thank you for stopping by or anything was experienced by me or my wife. It's very disappointing the food was very very good but the service we experienced was so bad I could not see myself coming back. As a person of color it felt very very obvious that I was not welcome, so much so that it even made my wife feel bad forntbe experience I was...

Himalayan Curry Kitchen is THE best place for a family dinner or a casual, semi-formal evening with your partner in Richmond Hill. The staff here has always treated my fiancé and I like family. Raj always welcomes us warmly and the staff make sure everything is to our liking each time. Chef also welcomes us and asks how the food is doing when I get to-go orders. The food is incredible. I like to order the Matar Paneer and garlic naan with the papad. My man likes the tikka masala lamb. We enjoy the medium option, as it has some kick to it but not overwhelmingly spicy. I would suggest mild for the everyday person or people just beginning to try authentic nepalese and Indian food. We have been here more times than I can remember, and the food has come out perfect each time and just seems to get better. No complaints ever. Portions are huge for a great price and I always end up taking leftovers home and have a wonderful lunch the next day. Even on busy days, the staff is warm and friendly and patient. To-go orders are completed fast, within 20 minutes or so for an entire meal for 2-4 people including sides. I would recommend Himalaya to anyone looking to escape the everyday choices we have here in RH and looking for a little taste of something new and flavorful. To the staff, we thank you so much for every wonderful evening we have had thanks to you. You have become a tradition in our family over the last 3 years. Here is to many more prosperous and delicious years with Himalayan...
